Errr that's not what I said. If stealth bombers were more effective against caps/scaps then that would make them more reliant on having a support fleet at hand. Rather than getting 200 of them and basically being unstoppable. This gives the game strategic depth. If you set it so that say (just a number, don't take it as what I think it should be) 50 of these new bombs killed a Supercarrier, you'd need either 40-50 dudes, or less with multiple runs. Now stealth bombers can't hold a lot of bombs anyway, so this limits your ability to on-mass destroy supercarriers but it provides a really decent way to chip away at a large super force without just herp-derping a fleet of 200 battleships into it.

And make the tech 2 bombs take an extra month to train, maybe a bit longer.

Bomb Supercaps

That would be pretty horrible gameplay wise (for caps/supercaps anyway). How do you get any sort of supercapital force in system when the bombers are already there? Even if you lit a cyno for each capital you planned to bring into system, they could still just pick one random supercap and kill it.

PS Making t2 bombs a month long train would accomplish nothing aside from a one month delay until the stupidity commenced.

let's take a step back and seriouspost for a moment

this thread is interesting in that it's a victory thread - the nc is dead, and there are some competing theories as to which was the primary reason it died (selling supers to enemies, allies failed it, internal corruption, purely external forces, etc etc) but in general victory threads have more gloating from the victors and less rage and frustration

the tone of the pl posters itt is pretty bitter and angry despite having won an honestly historic campaign victory (killing the nc is a huge deal no matter how you slice it or spin it, and even if you assign only 'partial' credit to pl it's still a fucking huge thing), and i suspect this is because they were psyched up for a massive battle, a climax of the sort that lorddragonmps was moments away from giving them - suiciding 100+ dreads into the aggressing super blob in a last hurrah; instead the nc fleet stood down and the nc died with a whimper, leaving a massive set of blueballs and a shitload of structures to grind undefended for the aggressors

anyway, that's just a thing i've noticed, back to trolling

Believe it if you wish, but I'm not bothered in the least, personally, for being ~owned by the supercaps~, I'm just against game-breaking mechanics.

My idea wasn't exactly against personal supercaps as an end, but as means. Plus the supercaps would still be personal in the sense you could still go rogue, steal it and go play for another alliance (if they could pay the upkeep for another one in the their ranks).

Basic game design in an RPG-type game needs some sort of rock-paper-scissors (supercaps don't have it atm). If something else is the answer, I'm all for it, I said as much myself, I'm not a game designer, and I'm sure a proper brainstorm of qualified people would do much better.

Yes, when every alliance calls a "ALL OR NOTHING TONGIHT WE DIE OR WIN" op, ofc there will be retard numbers, but thats the way it has always been in eve.
But keep in mind team DRF has used supers every day for 3 months in fairly small numbers, all that was needed was for NC to login and fight and wopsidops all half of each sides supers would be dead.
