I'd argue it was more SE and Kir Laeda-led -A- doggedly defending the jump bridges linking Esoteria to Impass, with multiple successful defenses of the bridge against stiff opposition, that broke SRBI in the first place. Well, I have to say I agree with Makalu that AHACs makes a terrible roaming fleet concept -- you ARE far better off in Hurricanes/Vagas/etc. They're too slow to catch anything and there's not many places in EVE you can roam to without getting either blueballed or megablobbed in the end.
But saying "NO YOU CANNOT DO THIS" is a little bit... well, dumb. It's a game -- if some duders want to go do something dumb, who cares v0v. Let them go and do it and yell at them AFTER they welp (sup Centra) -- that way you get to have fun too.
Now -- when it comes to Drakes vs. AHACs -- it's actually pretty easy nowadays to counter MOST drake fleets unless they're really, really well anchored/FCed and fit for purpose. As proven by BRs linked. Still doesn't mean AHACs are good for roaming thou.

I was once forced to lead an ArmorHAC roam with ~90 PL from Geminate through Drones to Scalding Pass, Great Wildlands and then down to Catch and off to Providence ending up in low sec. We killed like 5 ships in 3 hours, and our forward scouts were MrRive and xxxAngelxxx who were constantly bickering while "scouting".
Perhaps my armorhac roaming romance was squashed by this ~70j blueball op, I dunno -- but I ragequit PL for a good week afterwards.

I was talking about the fact that the last serious push on -a- space ended with one alliance living in catch and all of its allies fail cascading before the counter offensive fully started. Not what caused collapse off those alliances. So I was actually saying that people lived there but that it became a situation that wasn't able to last even before the counter offensive even started.
The rest of the offensives where -a- got wiped back to stain in the last few years have always ended with people just leaving and -a- just taking there space back without effort.

OKay, so i've been reading thru all these posts. and i've come to the conclusion that -a- is officially zombies

So quick summary of last night's action down south.
Lee formed up a nado fleet to support a CTA. I jumped in that fleet and we headed over to 319 direction where app arrantly RA had been "Camped in the station for 24 hrs"
I kid you not.
We get there and theres a bunch of slowcats on the station set up with sents and brick tanked target callers getting repped out the ass. We manage to loose at least 5 tengus before we release that scardycats are not a good match for slowcats on station.
We give up and Lee takes is little nado fleet over to K-6 to try and at least score some kills before we go home. We camp the TEST station/gates for a while and have a lot of fun blapping stuff from frigs to battleships and guys who think it's a good idea to do PI while 30 nados camp your station.

TEST tried the PL slowcat trick but used their own version of it which involved carriers on station but slowly sending 1-2 ships at a time out to die at the same time. They did manage to snag a Lee Chanka kill by sacrificing some bombers and pointing Lee during a bombing run but Lee just reshipped and we kept on blapping.
At that point we got word of the infamous LOL-DONT-ROAM-IN-AHACS AHAC roam and went off to join main drake fleet to try and find a fight. We JBed up to Catch and started burning for the a-hac fleet. Both fleets sat either side of a few gates and neither side wanted to jump in. It was pretty obvious that PL were not going to jump into us and wanted to fight on the gate true a-hac ball style. Our choice was either go home or give them what they wanted and jump in to them all setup.
FC decided risky fight was better than no fight and we went for it... didn't go so well but was fun. Nado fleet was going ok before I went down.
Fun fact: When flying in Lee's chilled nado fleets I can STILL HEAR MAKA RAGING ON LEE'S OTHER COMS WHEN LEE PUSHES PUSH TO TALK OMG

TRIBE killed a ROL Tempest, so they rage-formed a gang of a Hurricane, two Machariels, a Maelstrom, a Stilletto, a Wolf and only 1 scimi, for whatever reason, and after playing gate aggression games for a couple of minutes, one of the Machariels went down.

A 8.2 bil officer and X-Type fit Machariel, flown into an enemy staging system with only 1 logi pilot for support, and separated from most of his fleet...and then there's his 2.7 bil pod with a full set of Crystals. And then as the icing on the cake, the Maelstrom, Hurricane and Scimi all went down too. And as the icing on the icing on the cake, the officer point dropped.
