This game is about flying in a fucking air baloon and shooting down enemy blimps. This can only be achieved through teamwork as one person drives, another aims, another loads, another repairs ecc...
Physics apply while flying, wind intensity affects your flying, wind is stronger the highest you go, also there are large clouds where visibility is reduced, allowing you to hide. Cannons have Newtonian effects whereas your ship will recoil back whenever you fire.
Cannons can fire different things depending on what the loader loads. Cannon balls for medium range, rockets for long range, and flame bursts for long ranges. Nothing beats coming up the broadside of an airship with flamers on and roasting everything on board.
Each team has several ships. There are three types of ships, a slower airship with 4 guns, a smaller faster ship with a single gun and a glider that will fly you back to friendly ships if you die.
It is possible to jump aboard enemy ships, brawl, and take over the vessel.
Here is a short tutorial, with screenshots taken yesterday
Controls: You spawn as a duder, on the bottom you can see your 9 possible actions:
- 1 empty hand; is used to repair the ship, head to the ship front and punch the ship to repair it
- 2 torch; is used to light cannon fuses, the cannon will fire one fuse is burned
- 3 cannon ball; loads a cannon ball into the cannon
- 4 gunpowder; can be used as a grenade when boarding other ships, it has high damage and a knockback - when loaded into the cannon it will cause a flamer burst that is amazing short range
- 5 air mine; fires a rocket that flies for a while then turns into a ballon with a mine attached. Allows the creation of minefields. If loaded into the cannon, the cannon will fire slow moving long range missiles instead.
- 6 spy glass; allows you to zoom your sight and highlights names of enemies in your sight. This is the only way to know if a ship is friend or foe since whenever you take over an enemy ship the colors remain the same which means enemies will think you are their friend
- 7 defense musket; the musket cannot be used to arm other players, however it can shoot down incoming cannon balls and mines
- 8 sword; the true weapon of MEN, keep lmb pressed to charge the strike, parry with rmb
Spawning: either jump in a new ship or join one that is already out in the air. To join an existing ship head to the glider and press E. The glider will take off and autopilot to one of the ships in the skies, you can use scroll wheel to select which ship to head to. In this screen I am on my way to join the crew of Captain Spiku-San.
Aboard the Vessel: in this picture you can see what the average day looks like aboard HMS Squiggly, a "Cog" small fast ship with a single gun
- PG at the wheel, the captain steers the ship, you can also activate a boost every now and then. Scrollwheel selects the direction of the boost, spacebar to activate.
- Centra Spike at the cannon
- Visto with the spyglass, looking out for enemy ships @ the horizon
- Gobbins loading the gun & telling cool stories to keep morale high
Operating the cannon: this happens in three steps. Loading, lighting the fuse and aiming. Best is having one guy aim the gun while a second person loads and lights the fuse. Press 3, 4 or 5 to load the cannon, depending on the ammunition you want. Then press 2 to light the fuse. To shoot faster, you can light the fuse first then load ammo in while the fuse is burning. Loader should also switch to musket (7) to shoot down incoming cannon balls between volleys.
Close Combat: unfortunately I have no screenshot for this part although it is the most fun. Close Combat becomes relevant once two ships are close enough to each other to be in boarding range. The best way to fight close is to load cannons with gunpowder and burn the enemy deck with the resulting flames. Meanwhile the loader should manually throw gunpowder grenade against the enemy ship hoping to knock some of the bastards off the ship.
However if this isnt working or if you are outgunned there is another solution. Boarding. Jump from your ship to the enemys with spacebar. Spam space bar in mid air to hang on to the ropes. Do not worry if you miss the visible ropes, there is actually a whole area around the ship the will magically spawn a rope if you are pressing space bar in the area. Once you are safely hanging to a robe below the enemy airship the smartest thing to do is take your sword out and patiently wait a couple minutes. Pubbies and bads will never notice you. Then climb up to the ship, normally the whole crew will be on the front repairing the ship after the fight. A single grenade can potentially throw most of the crew into a free fall, leaving you alone to sword down the captain and take over this ship.
If you are spotted however, my suggestion is to hang on to the ropes and try to bash baddies one by one as they come to get you, and if they dont, try lobbing grenades over the deck from the ropes. Jumping down on the deck and brawling 4+ v 1 is only an option for ultimate bosses.

This is a genuinely fun game, I'm so confused.
We first started playing this as a fun chill mode game, but inevitably with people on both teams we had to use separate Mumble channels. Which kind of sucks because the enemy team could no longer hear me yell "Winterfell!" as I jumped onto their airship and started cutting them in half with my sword.

I tried to make a account but every time I fill in the entire form and hit proceed the page refreshes and I have to re enter the passwords. This is a cycle that does not end :/

Near the top it should say "Account created successfully" in a small bar. It's a terrible UI design.
He does not create any thing tho as I can still use the user name that I want nor did I receive any confirmation email (wich I assume they would send me)

Internet Spaceships decided to be a cool brosef and created a account for me.
Why is it bad to keep all cannons loaded? I got verbally abused after spamming the cannons with cannon balls. I thought I was being clever and saving time.

Apparently pre-loading weighs the ship down and makes it less agile.

Had a game with PL and TEST the other night. It's fun, but there isn't a whole lot of content. Our comms were all messed up, half the people were on TEST comms and the other half was on the PLOG comms, so maybe it's more fun when you have a proper team of people.
Being on the same comms as your shipm8s is crucial for fun imo.
