This was going to be one of my long blog posts, but I cut it short after realizing I don't want to write any more :words: now that I'm done with finals. I am sorry it is not as comprehensive as any of my blog posts, but I'm kind of tired and alsoabout this whole thing.
So, the recent polls show that most people have no opinion about various members of our staff. Questions I've received for over a year now also show that most people have no clue what the various members of our staff even do. So with this thread I hope to inform people about the whos/whats.
There are three different type of "staff" at k.com. While there is no official org chart, each type generally has someone who takes the most interest in it and tends to it. Above all these people is Mulla, who does all the tech work and also created the site.
Posting Police (Vinata)
Basically everything pertaining to the rules, posting, and reputation are the things I take the most interest in. I've crafted most of the rules, I've not fired most of the mods I inherited from the previous admin, and I even hired a few mods to boot!
If you have any problems with the way the system currently works, please tell me. Note that I am more willing to listen to your grievances if you also try to outline a plan for how things should be fixed. I am even more likely to take your argument seriously if you argue against interests by laying out the negatives of your plan.
All of the mods are part of the mod staff, that's a no brainer.
EVE Institute for Intelligence and Special Tasks (Viper ShizzIe)
EIIST is basically how we acquire information and forum porn. Viper isn't technically in charge, but over 80% of EIIST is either Viper, someone assisting Viper, or someone being assisted by Viper.
Not all of the mods are part of EIIST, and not all of EIIST are part of the mod team. I can't comment any further on who is part of EIIST and who isn't. OPSEC.
Content Generation, Site Attraction, Community Growth, etc (Xutech)
If you've ever wondered who at k.com cares most about keeping Foreplay information private, attracting new readers to the site, and generating content I have the answer for you: Xutech.
Xutech focuses mainly on these goals. He tries to spread our tentacled reach into other games, by expanding the k.com community away from CCP exclusivity. He also comes up with new content (such as the interviews) and also follows through with his ideas. The latter part of that sentence is a very rare feature among k.com staff.
Xutech does have people who work for him and help him out, but until recently none of them were mods. With the introduction of his "Interview People: A User Manual" every mod now has the knowledge necessary to take part.
Changes to staff
Occasionally there are some changes to the staff. I can list the following changes which have occured over the past month.
EIIST: No recent changes
Xutech Stuff: The Mods have been encouraged to do interviews. A Lovely Lady will now be helping out with interviews using her own style, but will not be named until she has done some work. A Legendary, Exemplary, Xanadu of Posting has been hired to help out Xutech, but doesn't want his identity disclosed. All I can say is that he has done great things for the site in the past.
Posting Police: Vinata will be stepping down as an admin/mod next month. He has not announced a replacement yet.

about this whole thing.
