Collapse of the NC
It definitely shook up the status quo in Eve.
"It pains me to say it but you are a good poster." - Vonq
Teams RUS)) vs the NC. Though PL still has a week to welp its entire supercap fleet.
True, I have raped history, but it has produced some beautiful offspring
NC Vs DRF and the subsequent collapse of the NC
NC dead and gone.
Agreeing that it's a no-brainer - the collapse of the NC.
ALL of you are forgetting the most important, most significant event:
The discovery of The Voice of Eve, the One and Only DavidKMagnus!
The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
In the spirit of nominating something else, I'm going to say the leak of Hilmar's internal employee newsletter. I know this is usually a player event within EVE online, but if we are talking a singular event here, nothing sparked more rage or drama than that one leak. The failed incursion expansion got everyone heated up, the Hilmar leak made everyone explode.
That leak was the final push needed to send the eve player base over the top and demand change, which in turn lead to CCP's drastic change in direction, giving us the crucible expansion and the constant dev blog's preaching about how CCP has "learned their lesson."
Pretty big deal if you ask me.
The Jita riots. Not necessarily the riots themselves but what they represented and how CCP reacted.
The apparently sincere apology and vow-to-do-better by CCP is a rare event in corporate governance. When the residents of "civilized space" go into revolt it means something has gone terribly wrong and cash flow may suffer.
CCP noted and adjusted. Null sec should be better for it. So will the rest of New Eden.

The damaged monument in Jita
The new inscription on the memorial's plaque. This was once a memorial to the winners of a riddle contest sponsored by the late entrepreneur Ruevo Aram. After standing proud for half a decade, it was destroyed in late YC 113 by capsuleers who were staging a mass uprising against an intolerable status quo of intergalactic affairs. Today, the ruins of this once-great work of art stand as a testament to the fact that change is the universe’s only constant.
Clearly it was CVA retaking providence.
I finally broke down and skilled awu5
I second the whole monocle/fearless/email thing. That was probably the most important thing to happen to eve since the t20 fallout.
The collapse of the NC.
Actually, upon further thinking, I'm going to have to agree with Cold One there. The Jita Riots were a turning point in EVE history.
Collapse of the NC, subsequent attempt to rebuild in the south before fracturing.
Collapse of the NC.
Jita riots / FEARLESS
Jita riots
Sorry, but collapse of the NC has this in the bag. Nominating it.
[Arrador] possesses a considerable understanding of ship configurations, strengths and weakness. He gives clear and purposeful instructions, is good at taking advantage of the fleet-composition he's dealt, and never loses sight of the main goal: fun. This, paired with an excellent tolerance for strong drink gives him an almost Churchillian capability to win, despite being completely pissed on booze most of the fleet operation.
Nominating IT Alliance failcascading, although the collapse of the NC will probably win it anyway
Either the collapse of th4e NC or the 'micro-transactions'/designerjeans/fearless/internal leaks/riots debacle
The reaction to the release of station walking and micro-transactions.
collapse of the NC
Yeah I would have obviously said the NC but I think the Incarna Door + Protests + Hilmar letter were definitely bigger.
reconquering of LXQ.
Uemon: 22 titans and 8 SC's deadened

Jita riots / FEARLESS
I know I've already said this in like 4 other threads but you literally can't top the ragefest that was the $60 pants fiasco and FEARLESS. The fall of the NC may have shaken things up on the 0.0 scene, but the Jita Riots literally changed the game for everyone who plays EVE.
Fearless/Jita Riots is my first bet if we're counting IRL events involving EVE, otherwise the Ice Interdiction, because if you can change the game by making people cry moar that's a pretty fucking big deal
Grath/Mittani banning INtarkll
The fall of NC!
CCP Greyscale Wrote: People live in Outer Ring.Kesper North: my point is there are a ton of things you can do in eve that don't involve dumping supers on mouthbreathing idiots like valor empireMontolio: I actually have a huge crush on S2N
The Incarna fiasco
?"eve's a bad mmo, really bad, it's only saving grace is the people playing it, which i guess doesn't say great things about the people playing other MMOs"
Collapse of the NC is way to big to be an 'event'. If you have to take out one single battle from that campaign I would pick the Uemon fight
DRF vs NC
Without the incarna backlash the nc collapse might have been the last big deal. So backlash it is.

If I forget thee, O Goonfleet dot com, let my right hand forget her typing.
Related to Sov and the game? The fall of NC. But the biggest thing that the largest amount of people noticed would still be CCP fucking stuff up with Incarna.
NC collapse.
Definitely the NC Collapse. When I was watching H-W flip sov in Tribute, I was still waiting for local to spike with 1500 reds.
Then end of IT was big, but the end of the NC really is much bigger. Another IT like incarnation may come back, but the NC is an idea that will probably never be repeated.
Those jumpbridge maps were so glorious, it's like the roman empire falling - a decayed overextended empire.
The fall of the NC, yeah.
the death of the nc
