A lot of people, it's claimed, have left EVE in protest over recent problems.
Is this the case with you, and if so, where did you go?

I'm undecided at this point. My subs are all canceled but I have 90 days left until the game time expires. Basicly if in 90 days if I don't suddenly enjoy the game more than I used to or some new bright light at the end of the tunnel shows up I think I'm done. Between Battlefield and World of Tanks I have my game fix covered.
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

I'm also undecided. I was planning on resubbing my alt with PLEXes but I've canned that for now. If I do quit I will probably move off to WoT (already play it, but without gold). Been feeling like playing a bit of WoW aswell so I'll probably go shit up my brother's account for a few hours while he's at school one day.
I'm going to a new job, so while I'd like to say I was all herp derp over the protests, truth is I had to leave anyway.
Don't worry I'll be back, I don't know wtf I'd moan about day to day if I didnt have eve.
I left because I was bored, no longer had the time, and needed to take drastic action to prevent myself becoming further addicted. It had no bearing on the protests whatsoever, didn't really care (I feel if someone is stupid enough to pay $70 for a virtual monocle (DurrHurrDurr I'm looking at YOU(with my perfectly functioning pair of eyes that don't need Monocles))they deserve to lose their money and that's the end of it).
TBCABFH(to be completely and brutally fucking honest), if you quit eve over this I say good riddance. You have just contributed to raising the average IQ of eve.
I am returneth.
To be fair. A lot that I've talked to didn't leave JUST because of NeX or Incarna. They left because of the continuing direction CCP is taking the game as far as ignoring many features that are broken/needs work and adding useless crap. Incarna was just the breaking point.
I left cause I was bored![]()
Don't give much fuck about NeX store as long as it's a vanity items. I'll see what happens to EVE map and wait for a while to check how drastical power monopoly will be if it is what I think it is, we'll see chinaserver on TQ eventually.
As for MMO's there's two of them around EVE for IQ and metagaming and WoW for IQ, reflexes and competitive yet sportsmanlike gameplay. Free games such as WoT are short lived.
I left EVE for EFT a long time ago
X3 Terran Conflict.
yes, i'm serious.

Me too, Leetcheese is fucking around in drone space somewhere and I kind of want to get a bomber and go join him, but I'm coping well so far
I've really been enjoying my unintentional departure from EVE. I miss the people quite a bit though![]()
Isn't that what poasting on Kugu is a substitute for, though?
Boredom is pretty much the killer of EVE subscriptions. Soon™, I'll be 'deploying' myself to Drone Space to join the small band of FA guys out there and gather some comedy killmails.
There is always an inevitable feeling of ennui inherent to EVE once you reach a certain stage in your progression in the game. I always find that I hit a particular EVE low whenever I'm training long skills, or have no particular goal to make ratting a case of "I have this much ISK and I want/need this much more so I can buy X," rather than "Fuck me, shooting these red crosses in space is dull as fuck, aarrrgh!" At least when you're training week-long and shorter skills, you get a sense of progress; or when you train a new racial frigate/cruiser to 5 and get a bunch of shiny new ships you can play with, set the buying of as your new ISK-acquiring goal or whatever. Maintaining a sense of personal achievement gets harder and, hand in hand, so does the motivation to enter password and hit return.
once there will be a working jagged alliance online out there i might even quit RL completely and devote myself to hosing down deidranna's minions.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to intex encapor again.
jagged alliance online
Wait what?!
I spent alot of time "beating" this game. Its really open, and never really seems to end. CCP would be served well if they purchased this game company outright to acquire their talented group of developers. Great Game, but it can RUNS LIKE SHIT on most PCs if you dont adjust some settings.. Tons of online faqs as well, and you will need them.
E3 2011 announcement by bitcomposer/gamigo, there seems to be a browser based mmo with 3d round-based combat in developement. first beta announced for the last quarter 2011, but i would not count on that.
http://www.gamigo.com/next_g/ edit: aw fu facebook link. fappers. did i say fap yet?

I'm fine with mouse and keyboard, just make sure to install the XTended mod, it makes the game more awesome in every aspect. and all the patches.
besides, after the first 10h or so, once you have some unitraders set up for yourself, it's just fun.
besides, huge spaceshipbattles.

I tried playing it but I pretty much entered game and then was met with space and no idea what to do or how to do it.
?"eve's a bad mmo, really bad, it's only saving grace is the people playing it, which i guess doesn't say great things about the people playing other MMOs"
Played X2 and X3 (Not terran conflict) and both were pretty good, those are what encouraged me to eve. Incredibly open ended, and you can see a lot of Eve in it (or X in eve?). The only issue I had was it got to a very complicated level where you had to run scripts and mods to keep your empire functioning, and the market/trading seemed to go a bit weird towards the end. Wished it had multiplayer, you get to a point where you're so bored with your massive empire you try to take over a species space, succeed, and then you've got no net income since you can't sell to yourself.
Stopped playing Eve.
Played MineCraft for 1.5 Months.
Re-DL'd X3. Played for a while until I maxed it out.

Noticed an MMO thread on SA about Runescape. Have been playing it with fellow goons for a few weeks now. FORGIVE ME.

I've been wanting to quit eve for a bit, but finally decided to do it. You have to spend 90% of your game time doing boring shit that you don't want to do / isn't fun, so I don't get the point anymore. The pvp isn't worth it because fun pvp is hard to find these days.
LoL is a much better game.
I PAID 25 EUROS FOR A SIG AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS SHITTY TROLL ATTEMPT
<mandatory "your stuff">
I actually went through a SS13 phase after stumbling across it on SA, but dear god their admins are bad.
SS13 is a sort of 2D round based RPGish Space Station simulator. Point of the game is to eh... do whatever it is youre class is, or in some cases be randomly chosen to be a "traitor" aka griefer, who has to complete certain secret objectives without the other crew realising that he is the traitor. The objectives dont usually include - cause as much damage to the station as possible, but more often than not, that's what the traitor does. There other gametypes, like aliens and wizards, changeling etc. The game wont tell you with mode is active. Theres lots of cool stuff like, air and power systems that can be blown up (well everything can be blown up) and a stationwide AI, which has to be played by person. There robots, cloning, pipebombs, weed, viruses, self-destruct codes, crowbars, and poo. Lots and lots of poo.
It's basically the Spanish inquisition in space, with poo.
Like I said tho, the admins are very heavy handed. You can be banned for accidently lynching the wrong person... or defending yourself from some crazy dude trying to bash your head in with a fire extinguisher and a whole load of other stuff.
Some dude spelt out FAG in poo in the corridor, and a goon admin permabanned him.
The game is addictive as hell once you get into it tho.
Tried SS13 I got trpped in the Janitors closet for like 13 hours![]()

Sometimes I wish I could walk away. But when you are the guardian of a massive T2 library it is pretty much impossible to walk away from the game.
Careful what you wish for!
Ah well if RMT doesn't float your boat you could always buy a few titans or freighters, load them up with Exotic Dancers, and crash them into something
Installed with x-tended addon it keeps freezing dead about one minute into game. Had to unistall it unfortunately.X3
Currently enjoying Europa Universalis III: Divine Wind it's an indie political sim strategy pick any country in the world from 1399 to 1821. It's pretty nerdy game but difficulty can vary greatly, it's easy if you pick a giant such as Castilie (with following re-uniting Spain) or France and can be extremely hard if you pick some of the minors like tribal Zimbabwe or Arab minors with following anal enslavement and abyss of butthurt from pretty much everyone.
Besides countries there are also influence powerblocks such as Holy Roman Empire, Divided Japan (pre-uniting by single Shogun) or Vatican wich while having little resources on it's own can influence catholic countries into doing p much anything. Spais, royal marriages, trade leagues, french revolution, spread of protestantism, colonising USA with following wars for independence and civil, calling Jihad on infidels if you're muslim etc etc.
http://www.paradoxian.org/
This has always been my problem with the Europa Universalis games. I find the beginning/middle part of the game the most exciting but quickly lose interest once things approach any sort of end game. At that point I usually just make a save and promise myself to pick it up later, but all I do is start over again as a different country.
Same problem here. Whenever I play any sort of long-term-strategy-esque game, I find the most interest at the start, setting shit up and getting my footholds in. Once I achive such dominance that me winning is just a matter of time, I just think, "Fuck that noise, I'ma play World of Tanks for a while"
I've tried other MMOs and thought 'meh'. Only Eve has been fun enough to stick with. Fun meaning it can frustrate the hell out of me as much as reward me.
The problem is the game also sucks. If someone were to come out with a similar spaceship based game with the same level of cruelty but mechanics that work and with less time sinking, I'd likely be gone on a heartbeat.
I've quit Eve so many times before. Not to protest or anything, but usually get too involved, burnt out, leave, come back, re-involve, rinse and repeat.
The above is the way eve works. But when your friend stop playing plz make sure to tell not to dump their first char or main.
Fucking took me close to a year getting mine back again.
