1) Being able to beat a 15 minute logoff timer reliably.
2) Soul-crushing lag, mostly induced by FBs, which helps with #1.
3) Massed ECM bursts.
I'm not sure what any of this has to do with blowing your supercap fleet on a system you can just let fall and take again later, LXQ2 style.

I think you have little experience in massive lag fights. Heavy lags usually prevent supers from disappearing in 15min and 30 dead titans in Uemon and o2o are best evidence. Recently CCP made progress in lag problem, and lag manifestations also have changed. We are still trying to find in what way and how repeatable/reliable they are.
ECM-bursts are also hardly a problem in no-lags, targets die anyway in 10 seconds, in heavy lags it depends.

i'm always intrigued when people whine, whether local chat or on kugus, about the other side not suiciding into them. Whether its a rifter fleet into a bc fleet, or a small supercapital fleet into a giant one, as if the complaints will inspire the other side to dismiss all logic and jump in anyways.

I'm saying that the fact the current eve metagame makes people prioritize their supers over their sov, when it should be the other way around, is madgay. -A- were in the right to just go "fuck this shit, we can retake it later", but eve shouldn't be that way. Sov should be valuable and worth fighting to keep.

Apparently our/NC FCs weren't as sure as you are, that titans would disappear, and kept fighting despite of heavy losses. It took about 15-20 minutes to kill a titan in those battles, plenty of time for other titans to disappear.
Given the combined forces of NC(Dot), Raiden(Dot), WN, XEATHXX and RA, ABloc would've been hard pressed to win a fight even if PL were standing right next to em in all of their smug glory.
Peeps can call ABloc shitty in general, DRF shitty for super blobbing or whatever but its a simple and brutal numbers game now. ABloc doesn't have a fucking prayer with numbers like that. So yea they'll shake their epeen in local chat while docked/safed and pull back to Stain and let the DRF Bloc grind away.

Overall I'm very disappointed. There hasn't been a real scap battle since O2O- and Uemon and before that god knows. At this point it's a matter of perception, I think. Yes, there are many "what would happen if" -A- would attack RED, but in any case -A- would fight real people, not structures, gain some experience, gain some understanding how laggy blob fights work etc. -A- pilots were crying on ever forum that they are ready to face everything DRF gonna send down south. Well, we are here, and somehow I don't feel -A- are ready, looks like grinding structures did no good to them.
My point is, -A- did attack DRF but didn't evolve that attack to it's logical conclusion - second front on DRF, and that was biggest mistake. They cried how ready they are to fight, but when it really came to start fighting, they did stop.
I'd be risk adverse too if my supers had a 1% of victory. Especially if i knew i couldn't replace them easily with moongoo isk.

The way I remember so many of them beating the timer was the FC saying, "check these fuckin' supers, find one still in local!" and we'd pick one, he'd drop from local and 15 minutes later disappeared.

This isn't due to supercapitals being overpowered. It isn't due to broken game mechanics.
It's simply a result of our inabilities as players to adapt and overcome.
The Russian people have proven that they are more disciplined than we are. Rather than bicker amongst each other, or allow chains of command to crumble, they work together for a common goal. They build a sense of camaraderie with one another and work like a family. Western alliances do not share that and have less loyal and weaker pilots as a result.
It is in this ultimate demise that we must now realize how weak we really were through it all.
The mistakes we have made will haunt us for many years to come.
Unlike the Russian players, we won't learn from our mistakes, but ignorantly take steps backwards as history has proven.
I don't represent -A- in what I am saying but I am speaking broadly about the entire "Western-world" player base. ( I have no affiliation to -A- or its allies )
