Hey just out of interest, have goons (as a corporation/alliance) ever used exploits? I was reading the CAOD thread, and there seems to be a great deal of "haha goonies whining about exploits lololol irony" happening. I've been following the events of this game for years, and can't think of a single time goons have sploited.
Why was I reading CAOD? Dunno, thoroughly regret it now.
Its true that goons are very distressed over this bug. I wonder how long or even how in distress they will be once the war is in full mode. I really cant see these goons lasting long, not with so many "cry babies". I can see goons loosing a few super cap fleets and alot of "cry babies" for the near future. I am sorry but i dont see "men" in the swarm or perphaps people with a backbone for lack of a better word. Therefore i cant see them last long.
No offence to anyone ofcource
Diplomacy is a continuation of war using other means
Grid-fu specifically to hide structures (namely towers) or otherwise shrink grids is an exploit.
For example, using grid magicks to make it so your POS doesn't show up on overview from the moon warpin is an exploit, but using it to expand grids and twist them into "tactical" shapes is not
Then again it's kinda obsolete considering the ubiquity of probing these days
Let's not forget that a large part of Goon cultural history was the exposing of, and fighting against, BoB cheating.
I like how "it's just spaceship pixels" is somehow supposed to extend conceptually to cheating and exploiting (when you do it to someone else). There is nothing that ruins the sense of "it's just a game" more than when someone breaks the rules just to get an advantage. However, I would never expect the institutionalized asshole of Eve to be able to project a remotely coherent message as a group, so none of this comes as a shock to me.
Edit: 500th post is an ncdot slam. how delightful.
I've been in 0.0 too long to get mad at people abusing bugs, I just sigh at ccp these days.
Don't forget to inhale
As far as I've heard with this specific system, apparently it was literally someone accidentally popping the first cyno, and it working. I don't really know what happened, as far as most of the details of anything, but if I had to guess I would say that maybe the exploit to get two cyno jammers online in a system doesn't work all the time, and they ended up with an unjammed system. I honestly don't know though, as I haven't done much other than read posts about the incident.
Since neither side had any capitals of any kind in system it seemed like a good opportunity to fight Ev0ke, but they (ofcourse) did not want to fight while outnumbering us, called in NC. and downed the second jammer, saved the moon and went into the J-O clusterfuck.
Ev0ke should be ashamed over using a nasty bug exploit to drop a titan and a mothership from goons with their 35 man superfleet.
This kind of behaviour brings shame to the gentlemen involved in this conflict and would not be tolerated in any other alliance but ev0ke.
during my hon game with dbrb yesterday he said its a bug with cyno jammers (you can anchore unlimited numbers pr system) So in theory you can keep onlining jammers as soon as the old 1 goes down. Goons apparently got a few systems with 4+ jammers now....
Kinda ironic that the same goons is crying over bugs in eve now

Mr Blue / Twisted girl /Stripperella - SNIGG - PL
It's kinda hard engaging you when your fleet sits in a Pos. For all i know you went to KDV to engage us, then your only Scout spotted 40 NCDOT-Hacs on their way to J-O and you decided to do nothing.
Do you blame us for gathering 200 HACs to attack your 180 Alpha-Fleet plus Supers in a Jammed system?
You're trying too hard. Again.
Anyway, cynojammers are one of the few things that fundamentally alter the gameplay of EVE, especially in the era of supercapital dominance. An exploit to blatantly evade that mechanic is nothing less than game-breaking, and I would say that lighting your cynos within 20km of the online jammer is pretty blatant!
Fake edit: The point being that some exploits are game-breaking-er than others (like your moon thing you mentioned.)
I'm assuming PL are mostly upset because Evoke got the exploit first and are getting all the attention. That's their role.
Because their cyno ships just happened to be devoters, and everyone just happened to be ready to jump into a system that you couldn't jump to, and cuz Ev0ke would never knowingly exploit a bug.
Stop the tinfoil, it was an accident.
I can't imagine a more boring display that accurately summarizes Eve than a 1 v 1 titan duel. And besides, I'd feel for all the PL/NC./Evoke players that would lose out.
yeah why won't those dishonourable blobby jerries fight on even terms *is in an alliance literally six times the size of ev0ke*
did you read the post i was responding to, or
I could edit the post to quote lordo and pripyat as well if that'll make you feel better, it doesn't make the "ur a blobber" "no u" "no u" discussions any less gay.
didnt you see the movie thank you for smoking? its not about being right, but looking to be right. so if you adress things like
number arguments which everybody is anoyed of, you have most readers on you side. even if its total bullshit what you are saying.
The arguement about gsf's numbers is irrelevant os 90% of goonwaffe is unsubbed and that's where a fair chunk of the alliance is located, and thanks to ccp's fuckups that number increases by the day
Lies, some are two titans' worth.
