This has been a VERY busy week for me and I'm sorry if I haven't been able to make time for all of you. I'm trying to make decisions which benefit Fatal Ascension for it's long term goals.
In the spirit of transparency, you all will be hearing of a few resets about to happen amongst our allies.
As you read this, the other residents Fountain are making plans to reset the NC as the coalition in Fountain (Clusterfuck) has passed a vote of no confidence. These people include but are not limited to, TEST, Gents and BDEAL. The resets will take place over the next week. This is not an act of aggression from our friends to the West, this is simply a reset of standings and a vote that they no longer wish to assist the north.
I want to make this very clear. We will be continuing to fight and defend as they've done so for us, countless times. We need to remain defending the north as we have done so well in the past.
Fatal Ascension is going to continue their path of remaining blue considering we've got a lot of ties with the north. This is contingent on the NC's ability to defend itself as Fatal Ascension is also becoming frustrated in the lack of participation, coordination and overall cohesion in the Northern entities. Our situation is different from the rest of the Clusterfuck as we came in from the north where the rest came from entities in the south or rejected from the north. We need to support the allies who have assisted our growth in the past, however realize that we also need to retain strong allies for our long term survival and success. If, at any given point we lose all confidence in the north's ability to fight and defend itself, we will do what's in our best interest to maintain the forward momentum that exists within our ranks.
Right now, the NC needs to feel our enthusiasm and we need to spread some of that love we've got in house around. Their morale isn't so hot. They're about to lose their space. They need us more than ever right now. So, we will give it our all. We'll fight and defend to death. We will prevail.

I think it's that we'd rather go down fighting for our space, while the DRF would rather be extorted for hundreds of billions and maintain their carebear-RMT empire. *Shrug* The north getting completely burned is one of the things that would get me more interested in the game again, whilst I'd probably silently sign-up elsewhere if we were paying outsiders for protection
I don't blame PL for taking the ISK, except to point out they may be killing their long-term business. The main point is they shouldn't be getting :agitated: that we didn't care to pay to be the suckers in this war. We were happy to cover war-costs and compensate them for focusing on not being a sov-holding entity (which is a hard fucking thing as they found out in Fountain). *Even* to go as far as compensating to stay neutral in major wars given that they were trying it out as mercs
That they wanted more than that is their smugness not ours. We'll see in the long-run how it works out. It would be horrendously ironic though, if the same PL that fought with us against BoB/GBC on the basis of them being backed by CCP-insiders and cheating (Yes the e-honour PL brigade) were now responsible for bringing about the age of the EVE-wide RMT empire that not even CCP itself seems capable of controlling
Personally I would thrive in an EVE controlled by the DRF where we could play the underdog. I've been bored shitless ever since the NC got decent. It's probably not good for EVE as a whole though. And, call me old-fashioned, but I can't help respecting those alliances sticking to their values in this current climate while others are selling out

But you didn't..and you haven't. You didn't really fight for Geminate. You sure as hell didn't fight for Vale. You wouldn't lift a finger if it were Pure Blind or Cloud Ring. If you want to see us flash supers all over the place it takes quite a bit of money.
30 billion is just what it costs US to move, much less the weekly fuel bit associated with this many super caps. People act like they are free, and just some random over powered mechanic, not considering that when we AREN'T aggressively using them the fuel bill for the alliance is over 10 bil a week, in a grind situation it easily tops 20-30 billion.

Does TEST + company resetting the NC even do anything? They haven't helped the NC proper yet and now, they never will. It will be interesting if goons follow, as that should have a much stronger impact (wasn't there a propagandas post about "DC: oh hey, we will defend tribute as MM are bros... oh MM is dead we will just go back to our space?" I cant be assed to go through the previous 100 pages of shit to find the particular post).

If there is any truth to the RMT claims... every titan, every supercarrier, hell every drake has a $$ value. That 500 bill initial outlay turns into 10 grand (approx.) spent by those at the top in the hopes of recouping that money in the coming months.
Every tech moon they "let" (5? 10?) PL have during the contract is another $200/month that is missing from their calculations on "How much more money will we make with these extra regions?"
Grath, with the exception of his first point which came off as butthurt RP, made it quite clear that PL is doing this because of old grievances, and the fact that they cannot bear to see a conflict about which they're not able to smugpost, not because of any contract.
150 bill *probably* would have 'outbid' the DRF, but it's not about that.

Secondly, I'm failing to see how hiring PL would have made you "the suckers" in this conflict. It seems to me like the Russians have gotten what they paid for and more. What makes you think that PL wouldn't have helped turn the war in your favor, or at least limited the loss of space to Geminate?
If it's an e-honoure thing, and you'd really "rather go down fighting," that's one thing. But don't try to make it look like snubbing the PL offer was the pragmatic thing to do.
Can anyone confirm exactly when PL's current contract expires and if they have started putting out feelers for new potential employees yet?
