Lagtastic fight (i think) in 7X-VKB. Mostly Harmless Tech (I assume) POS coming out of reinforce. Dekco formed up about 450 Alphamaels from MH, WIdot, Test and Goonswarm. We got intel of 3-400 in X-70, so knew we were on for a big one.
NC., (don't all these dots screw up punctuation on BR's?) Evoke, and PL (and I would guess 404., but didnt see any myself) bridged in Abbaddons and Tengus, and local hit about 850. Due to lag, pretty hard to tell which way it was going until NC. and PL dropped Titans and Motherships into the mix. The fight pretty-much ground to halt due to lag, and given the MH tower had been repped and restronted, there didn't seem much point standing around pulling our teeth out and swearing at CCP for nothing. DekCo fleets withdrew, and in all likelihood the tower is being reffed again as I speak.
WIdot fleet tried to exit through F-N, and most of us failed to load grid the other side (which, to be fair, we aint surprised about). PL followed us through, likely suffered the same treatment, but as those in our fleet who had loaded warped off, those of PL that loaded were free to tear those of us stuck apart at their leisure. I had named that Scorpion, I am very sad
No idea what the final deathtoll might look like, will update once killboards start whirring to life. Good to see both sides there in numbers, pity CCP weren't putting in the effort the rest of us were.

Not sure how you got ambushed, to be honest. We'd set dest to VFK, so we were definitely following your fleet and the fight in P-2 sounded like it was a setup for another ~goodfite~. Unfortunately, the system was cynojammed and Ev0ke had bailed a few jumps out so we were looking at roughly 100 vs. 300. NCdot/Merciless lost a good 15 Abaddons to alpha (including our FC), killed a couple of Maels in the process, but reps weren't hitting anything so we disengaged, jumped through and burnt to X-7 and bridged home.
The original fight was very laggy and our fleet was pretty pissed that we'd been brought in after the tower came out - no one had realized that it got repped while the fight was going. And just to clarify, only NCdot brought supers onto the field.
Highlight of the fight for me was saving 1 Abaddon with (according to him) 4 HP in structure left.
Well, I don't honestly believe CCP likes having a laggy game, it's a combination of many factors, but I won't skew the thread into that.
As for the strategic objective, you could have jumped sooner and killed the tower instead of reinforcing it again, I don't see how the lag itself helped the NC this time.

Fuck you!!! I was shooting that Wookwhatever guy forever and the lag + reps kept him alive when he should have been dead.
And yes, we did get ambushed. What do you call getting the fleet cut in half by surprise at a gate, with enemies on both sides? We were looking for a fight though, so I guess everyone got what they wanted except for the goddamn lag.
We jumped in when Ev0ke told us to jump in - intel was just bad. Cyno went down while 90% of us were still to load grid, so we were scattered all over the solar system and it took us ages to regroup. Most of our losses were taken while we were still getting onto grid.
And I wasn't aware it was an ambush - PL stayed on the other side of the gate and we (or at least I) didn't even know they were there until we jumped out.
Wasn't saying it for sure did, just saying if it would have helped anyone (as long as it was equal) it would have been the NC.
