I did forget to write one for that, didn't I. I'm afraid the details are a bit hazy at this point for a really good one, but I can give a synopsis. This was before the PB campaign had really kicked off and there were only a few skirmishes over random moons. There wasn't much coordination between allies and no one was really sure of what was going to happen or how involved the hostiles were going to become in Pure Blind. As such we were sending out scouts and moon probers trying to find out what was hostile, what was friendly, and where the mythical offline morsus mihi tech moons were at.

Scouts reported a "Small Minmatar Tower" on a tech moon in X47 and an op was planned to reinforce it in 1-cycle of dreads. Earlier that day the POS was defanged by a particularly brave SC pilot who enjoys doing that sort of thing, this guy also reported that the "Small Minmatar Tower" was now defenseless and ripe for our attack. Adding to this I myself visited the system in question 1 hour before the op and anchored bubbles on the ingates, logged a cyno off in-position, and had a looksee at the tower which indeed said "Small Minmatar Tower". No one noticed that for a "Small Minmatar Tower" the POS shields were suspiciously large and there were 22 shield hardeners anchored - A feat sadly beyond the capabilities of even the most plucky and industrious of small towers. Welp.

A BC-heavy fleet with almost no tackle is first flown into the system and then proceeds to make bookmarks, fly around, and generally drag things out for almost 40 minutes before the dreads are even called in. Finally the BC fleet feels comfortable in its task of holding gates and signals the capital FC that all is ready. 13 Dreads jump in, one bounces on impact and the other 12 wait for him to 0-speed before sieging so that they can all jump out 10 minutes later. The op called for "Short-Range Dreads with 3 damage mods" without giving specific fits, which in retrospect looking at what actually got dusted out of unused corp hangars was not proper direction. Not that it mattered overmuch in this case.

Towards the end of the first siege cycle, everything is still calm, although the cap FC is saying they're only at 80% shields and I'm having a bit of a WTF moment from the capsule of my scimitar - 13 Dreads should 1-cycle a small pos of any composition easily. Halfway through the 3rd cycle someone finally notices the # of hardeners present and remarks that it's a bit much for a small POS. It's at this point that we know we're fucked. It's not a small POS at all, in fact it's a renamed Large POS and we're quite frankly eating unseasoned crow.

Our scouts are in *some* of the popular staging systems, and there's no response so far from Evoke or PL, but we don't have eyes on NCdot, and a few of them in bombers have been spotted in surrounding systems and one breaks through our gatecamp with our pro single-interceptor and zero rapiers/huginns. The result was the killboard BR you kindly linked. 2 dreads were able to jump out as we were dropped right at the end of the 3rd cycle, and 11 died. My ears still ring faintly from Rydis's censure over that one.
