They have no loyalty to the alliance ticker and will run for greener pastures at the first sight of any real danger. Those corps are not the types to stick it out in Venal if everything goes to shit and then make a comeback. So why would you value them or make concessions to them is beyond me. If CFC campaign is successful I fully expect WN will soon be left with their Russian core + 1 or 2 english speaking corps. The fact that Psihozz actually made a deal with those dipshits is kinda sad. WN used to be a PVP hungry alliance with quality, not quantity, but then they bloated to hell.
To prove my point, I'll give you one example from EVE. Take a look at AAA history. When DRF formed and PL was assfucking Atlas, eventually rolling down South with super blob, all of the non-Russian corps were abandoning ship as fast as they could. Havoc, BDCI, Rionnag Alba, PPN United, Outbreak, Reaper Industries, the list goes on. The Russian core corps stayed though and toughed it out. Now they recruited more terrible Morsus Mihi corps, ex IT corps, some Atlas dudes, whatever. When AAA's position really degrades into unbelievable level of shit, those people will run for the hills as well, the cycle continues.

Btw a little Solar vs LOD update. After the big LOD push with 400 allies coming to support them, they managed to online SBUs in a dozen Solar systems. They also saved their HQ in 1a8. Although I think it was only coming out of shield reinforced, so it wasn't in serious danger. The next day however, things returned to normal. Solar took over the third LOD station in Outer Passage, GA58-7. They also killed several SBUs in their own systems. After the clean up they went to reinforce 1a8 again with dreads and maels. LOD responded with titan drive-bys and shot down 2 dreads. They also made a somewhat successful bombing run, but lost their bombers in the process. http://solar-fleet.ru/?op=related&name=942526
There are rumors that Gypsy Band, a Curse based Russian alliance, has relocated closer to the region and might assist Solar. I don't have solid info if they have standings or docking rights. Gypsy Band is renamed Rebellion alliance, a former Goon and NC ally. They used to live in Geminate, until they were disbanded by Daroh, who later joined PL. He dropped all sov suddenly, potentially via a secret deal between him and UAxDeath with some RMTing involved to give DRF a beachhead to start NC invasion. The sudden Sov drop left a lot of Rebellion/Gypsy's assets locked in the stations now controlled by Solar, so they might also be interested in getting their shit out.
IRC is rumored to reset their standings with LOD after they called in a mass of allies to counter Solar. IRC might be joining Solar in the future ops as well. With several critical HQ stations coming out, we have a pretty interesting week ahead of us.
IRC has said multiple times that they're not getting involved unless it turns into a dog pile on Solar. (which it hasn't, contrary to your beliefs) They are still blue to Solar and both xXdeathXx's.
Lol, it was 650 LOD + Allies vs 200 Solar the other day. If that's not a dogpile, then I really don't know what is. 2) Each fleet has its own FC, that communicates to the main FC through command channel. Example: Main FC orders to bubble someone to dictor FC, dictor FC completes the order!
3) Grunts in separate fleets shouldn't have any info on what is going on with other fleets, to prevent spying.
4) Remove all voice commands from TS and just use broadcasts, while using TS to tell funny stories about bears and vodka during a fleet fight.
5) Drakes with scramblers and jamming light drones, that work in close range and sniper modes.
6) Sniper mode drake pilot: press Keep at Range at 50km on the enemy and shoot! (I'm not kidding)
7) Close range mode: drake scrambles and orbits at 1km.
8) Fitting a shield tanked Tempest, which is superior to Mael due to scan resolution, agility, lower cost and better range.
There are many more gaffs there, but it's a massive text of unbelievable level of stupid, so fuck it. I hope I answered your question

Actually the tempest gets a double damage bonus - 5% reload and 5% damage, and the Maelstrom gets 5% reload as well. So they reload at the same speed (though oftentimes you can fit an extra tracking/damage mod on a pest, but not enough to make a difference in 200+man fleets).Reload faster too, so more volleys in less time. Solar had a veritable shitload of timers coming out following the massive LOD+BUTTPALS 650 man blobs rampage through Solar botlands. That blob consisted mostly of the now-'disbanded' DRF, which ganged up on the NC in the name of ending blob warfareOh, and Goons who like to dress up and pretend they actually pay back space-debts.
So SF formed up and waited in 9IZ for the inevitable shit-fit drake fleet , with info that LOD had 30+ supers.
Unexpectedly, the Legion(+friends) somehow managed to grow a pair of temporary balls and, outnumbering the enemy 3 to 2, decided to do something really stupid like jump in.
Expectedly, they were quickly brought back to reality and reminded that they are, in fact, still bad at this game.
Worth noting is that LOD has hired three alliances that strongly believe themselves to be elite to help the Legion be less shit. They are the Gorgon Empire, Gentlemen's Agreement, and one more which is presumably equally full of itself.
So far they've had a tremendous impact, at least on the Legion's wallet and the credibility of mercenaries in Eve.
After the "fight" Solar then went ahead and killed TCU's in two Legion systems, killed about a dozen Legion SBU's and repped so many structures it would put a minecraft autist to shame.
