Because the NC would have been at least as terrible and dull to fight as they were to be allied with, even if they weren't probably more powerful than goons. And they balanced out the DRF well until they evaporated. There might have been some "bro-pact" stuff but that's all before my time and above my pay-grade.
But it's cool, we kept touch with some of the WI guys, some of the more interesting ME guys plus the CFC is generally entertaining and there's no more Stella Polaris, MH, Own, Dem0n Hunters and that ghastly renter alliance so it all worked out for the best.

After they reset, he was immediately smeared as some dirty weak RMTer. In 2010 IT Alliance were painted as Bob 2.0, the biggest faggots in the game and The Ultimate Arch-Nemesis Reborn yet just after a few months after their dissolution two of their biggest corps were incorporated into the coalition because they were really always cool guys we swear. In 2011 MM and RAZOR were BFFs, we will never forget how they helped us take the South and fought together in arms and we will never leave their side. Just a couple months after their defeat they were billed as traitors and faggots and the worst people in the game and hahaha we will crush them in Delve and ruin their spirits forever. But another month after that RAZOR rejoined the coalition and were always the good guys all along we swear totally not like those MM guys.

Both were small scale events that tied into the Goonswarm leaderships strategy to assume control over the NC.
