Short br is we sat outside their station a bit, it looked like it was going to end up as usual blueballs when our insidious captain of our hearts properly hurt MMs pride and honour with Elo Knight > when are you rolling into bricksquad
So as we started to leave MM called out in local for us to stay, we warped back to station where they were in the process of undocking a handful (15-20ish) maelstroms and some other crap, and 5 or 6 carriers. We burn around and do muninn magic, alpha some things etc etc. After a bit of fighting glorious leader eloknight's attention is drawn towards a tengu that has burned out to us (with the rest of his fleet sitting still at the undock). He seem to be out of carrier rep range, which he was, so he dies. Rest of MM fleet deaggros under carrier reps, they only lose a few more, apparently not everyone in their fleet actually aggressed lmao. It would seem the tengu was the MM FC, so for next time should probably remember to not shoot expensive ships to get prolonged fights.

Anyway, the point I'm making is that MM was around long before Dominion and was couched in that same space throughout the duration of its existence up until recently. Given that MM held Tribute and obviously wanted to hold Tribute despite the numerous invasion attempts, using the line that the space is worthless now that anoms have been nerfed is sort of invalid. I'm sure it was sort of a shock to everyone that they might have to go back to belt ratting or ratting in Venal, but if it was anoms that was the only important thing to MM, then they could've held space in Wicked Creek for all anyone would've cared. Why Tribute? Well, because of tech, easy logistics, and it being geographically centered in the north, allowing MM to extend power over multiple regions.

Since we're on the subject of tech, though, I wonder how things would've played out if MM leadership had been required or compelled in some way to provide a screenshot of their wallets and journal every week or so. Then we'd really know where all that tech money went, eh?

They do talk about it in one of those Eve-O Ask A Developer threads. They don't lay out specifics obviously, but I believe one of the devs does say a tech nerf is incoming.

There have been 3 comments made acknowledging that the technetium bottleneck is a problem and that it will be fixed.

My personal speculation from the small details of those comments is that it will not be a simple rejig like the one which led to the tech bottleneck from the dyspro bottleneck, and that this larger fix to t2 minerals and production will be tied in with the planned retooling of 0.0 scheduled for the winter. Therefore, the best bet is at least 5 months before we see anything concrete in terms of tech no longer being a bottleneck in t2 production.
