The guy running the fleet in the first one did seem amazingly good humoured for most of the time, only really starting to lose it when they warped to the gate and PL arrived within seconds. He was laughing and joking with them on comms and only gently prodding the guy with the Raven.

There was a time when i got neg repped to babylon because I exposed the NCs policy of not actually engaging hostile raiders, the trick they pulled was to have their defence fleet chase the attackers but not engage, anyone who actually wanted a fight was shouted down.

Having no lag with 1k people in system doing nothing isn't really a "good job." It's when the shooting starts (and I don't mean 1k people shooting a structure) when the lag will really start, and that's the time to judge.

Balancing via cost/availability is not a good thing. Seleene thought the fact that their weren't many supercarriers justified them being boosted to insane levels. Because it's not like players would simply build hundreds of them, would they?
I don't agree with Hratli that t2/t3 ships are even a problem in this regard. But it's not intelligent to take the position of "T3s are impossible to blob" when this game is starting to see maxed out fleets of supercaps. There is nothing stopping any of the major blocs from fielding fleets of nothing but T3s. Even the T3s themselves don't take long to skill for.

Do DRF and pets get a golfclap for doing the same thing? (ie, attacking MAGE). I see a LOT of smug boastful posts about beating up MAGE, yet no one seems to see the irony that boasting about beating up IRC, ED and SF is apparently cowardly and worthy of derision only.
Both sides are doing the same thing, attacking the weakest links, whilst avoiding the more powerful alliances in their opposition. And it makes strategic sense.

It was only RIGHT when the HEART of ME/RAGE space was under attack that Goons decided to attack IRC. It was exactly timed to divert attention from them for not doing anything; they even posted on their own forums that they don't want to shed blood for this war for all intensive purposes. They believe MM will win the war in the end without them, and they are probably right. However it shows how little the NC cares about their respective alliances letting RAGE/ME get genocided in such a fashion.
