So who's actually worth a damn?
Now that the tournament is over and my alliance is falling apart around me, I've decided its time to move on.
My question is this: What alliances are actually worth trying to join if what I'm looking for is smaller gang / non-sov holding in an EU TZ?

However your criteria don't seem to cover "blob stuff and welp more stuff"... so I'd suggest Rote Kapelle, Rooks 'n' Kings, or The Greater Goon
I fought a lot against Darkside when I lived in the south. They were a league above just about everyone else when it came to 40 and under gangs. Ookke is a good guy, and BL seem to be having a lot of fun right now.

On topic, I'd imagine if you want suggestions that aren't r&k or the like just join any lowsec corp or even just FW and play around and you'll hopefully run into a good group while fighting. It does require actually playing the game though, so if you want an option that doesn't involve any of that silliness join quam.
Nullsec is pretty shit right now unless your Russian. TEST block is probably the way to go unless you wanna go the ~elitepvp~ route.

Rooks and Kings is tempting but I took a little look on dotlan and its all either non english language corps or invite only. There's also the "hey didn't we kick you from FDN" factor...

I like Rote Kapelle. They're a smart bunch, imo.
Might want to check out Initiative, they've been mostly flying under the radar lately and from their killboard, look like they're having a great time. Plus they're shooting Russians and Russian pets, which is always fun.
Rooks doesn't openly recruit. If you don't know someone in one of the corps p well, you don't have a good shot.

The new corp search tool is awesome. You should try it out. No joke.
Definitely having a ton of fun doing our thing atm. Basing in Curse and griefing renters/hunting the blob on the map. All for the pew pew. Sbu to get fights, accidentally end up with a couple of stations. doog times. If you like fleets from from 30-100, I can recommend Init. Average is probably 60-70.

I just looked at it and, shockingly, it's pretty clever.
I've just joined Amarr faction warfare to keep me tiding over till I find what I want but the Minmatar pilots seem pretty skittish and my primetime seems to consist of the Amarr side camping pretty much everywhere in the Bleak Lands with only the odd enemy pilot to be seen in space.

CORIM is a really good crew to roll with if you're doing Amarr FW. PredatorElite (RnK USTZ Capital FC) still runs gangs and the CEO is really good with BlOps

250 man alliance living low-sec derelik generally we roam the surronding low-sec area but mostly 0.0 provi, curse and catch. There about 6 corps our membership has taken abit of dive since CORIM left couple people have left the main executor corp Tri-gun and Pred is now the CEO fot Tri-Gun and executor of the alliance. Limited Blues and Universal NBSI makes for a large array of targets.
Sounds fun. Do much blops or cap stuff?

CORIM left to do whatever they usually do(hot drop people), they killed a DNS Erebus today. As for cap stuff we can do it when its needed I guess( You'd have to talk to Pred about that one). As for blops not so much I'm sure we can if we wanted to but not really our style. DNS loves to do that around curse though been trying to covert drop us for a while now.
DNS is p predictable though :P Just don't shoot solo razu's and you'll be fine.

Unless he was, in fact, full of shit about getting paid and just got tired of not doing anything v0v. Regardless, you guys lucked out. He's easily one of the best capital FCs in the game as far as carrier vs carrier fleets are concerned. He runs awesome Pantheon gangs.

Rote kapelle is an unusal beast in the EUTZ, because STIM is so strong in US, we're still working on balancing it out. No sov and small gangs, good times.
I always think RnK would be boring, they're always sitting on a titan waiting for that one fight per month that looks cool written up with screenshots.

Yeah minnie v amarr capfights used to be fun. Now the capfleets for the tzs are imbalanced so noone drops anymore.

Pity Gallente FW sucks so bad (apart from decent lp/isk converstion rates on pve side..)
Swap over to the Caldari vs Gallente it's much better over there, both sides actually want to fight each other with gangs, rather than camp stations or gates all day. The only draw back is even in the intel channel gangs (ie not general militia fleets) are still a tad unorganized. They aren't horrible but defiantly not tight nit leet pvpers. As long as you expect that it's decent fun. (20-30 man gangs fighting each other daily during late EU up to mid US TZ)

Yeah FW is fucking gay in general because one militia always seems to dominate in numbers for one tz and vice versa for the other. So caldari will blob gal in US and gal will blob caldari in EU. And as a rule of thumb, if you want to get into semi-coordinated fleets you have to put up with alot of retards regarding pvp and it's still not very fun. At least this was my experience.
FW is really only good for using an alt to farm the missions. My two cents
