Can't be arsed to dig out the post, but on eveger.de it was claimed by the German NC Damage Control Crew that the pilot was left to die for being an idiot for stupidly jumping into H-W even after being told that the system is hot and because they had important ~strategic objectives~ to attack with the fleet.

It really boils down to "Idiot was asking for it/didn't want that Nyx anyway", "Not risking the fleet and strategic goals to welping by jumplag/session change shenanigans and hotdrops when there's important stuff to do" and some "Supers are the new BS/nbd to lose" remarks.
Also, as far as I can tell, none of the NC/DC posters commenting on this were actually awake and/or in the fleet at the time of the Nyx kill, so what they were told is quite likely to be second or third hand information in the first place.

Let's do a little BR about this night from 404 POV :

We we formed up in X-7 around 19:30 eve time in AB vagabonds, roughtly 35, knowing that the Goon frenchwing had set an OP for tonight. After a bit a blueballing from them (i can't blame them, they were outnumbered), we went on a tour around NC main staging areas. We went first to YI-, home of FA, killed some dudes, but no real fight. (http://killboard.notfound.fr/?a=kill...d&kll_id=11538).

Them, we decided to go to VFK as we do almost each day, and to camp a bit the station and the JB's. So here we are in VFK, the goon french wing already in the system. We kills some dudes warping from the JB to the stations, and others not knowing how to not get blown up dedocking. After a bit of time, a wild Revelation appears and starts shooting us. The order is given to send drones on it and to try to bump him a bit. However, bumping a cap on 40 km with ab vagas is a pain in the ass. So, as we keep him tackled and bumped him slowly out of range. When there was still 15 killometers for him to be out of range, Goons undocked with a carrier and armor BS's. We kills a few, and the others are forced to dock again. The Rev was at this point in low armor and still in docking range. He was still engaging. Knowing that there was only 5 km left for him to be out of dock range, we overloaded our AB's and finally bumped him out. When he finally reached structure, 3 carriers undocked. Hopefully, they where too far and could not rep him, so he died. Like a faggot.

So basically, the NC lack competent tacical leadership (FCs) and competent strategic leadership (Coalition leaders). This is painfully obvious in their lacklustre attempts to stop the opportunists from taking their tech moons in Venal. If they didn't have Goons and the DC as insurance they would be in a lot of trouble in Tribute.

However since the DC seems to have both competent strategic and tactical leadership and are prepared to take control of NC defensive forces, the DRF seem reluctant to have a good crack at them in Tribute at the present time. At least unless someone does something drastic and shits in their cheerios. But if DRF can finish consolidating their gains in Gem/Vale and keep pressure on the NC tech moons in Venal they may be able to drastically overtake NC/DC in supercap production (maybe they have already? I don't know of a good source on the SC numbers of both sides) while also getting more people ready with the skills to fly them. Gradually starve them out.

I don;t say that to offend or belittle NCDOT or Ev0ke for that matter, but seriously, hitting the NC atm is like hitting a 'Roo caught in the headlights of the DRF - not really indicative of their potential or skill either way.

Right now NC are nothign but a damned punching bag, and its pretty sad to see it all dribble away like this. But as is some discussions I've had lately it seems this is partially to do with generational change that is sweeping EVE at the moment.

Bittervets are logging off and not back in havign been there and done that a gazillion times before. The newer more energetic alliances start to take over and we have what we have.

The true gift of PL (and other alliances working with them at the moment) is nothing more than motivation to log in, have fun, and do shit with high SP and resource players. So this will come down to who wants to keep playing more? NC leadership or their foes.

Right now its looking p bad for NC - and if they fall, it will be good for the game in that it will allow a new batch of leaders the chance to shine and continue their journey to bittervet-dom. If they repel the invaders its still just a matter of time.

This is a pretty basic quitmail, but I do admit I'm not in the least bit surprised that he specifically singles out two other corps for recognition, and imho, at least, it foretells what may happen with the rest of the corps in ME if the alliance continues to bleed corps.

Personally, I love how he says "most of the members are fine guys" which of course, says very plainly that there were some that were not, in the author's opinion, fine gentlemen at all (aka not german). All my bitter ex-ME brosefs will no doubt find some significance in this statement as well.

In general, competent leadership is merely incompetent leadership that hasn't been properly tested yet. Sooner or later someone comes along and leaves allegedly competent leaders looking stupid.

This isn't the patch that kills the 2 bridges per system, this just stops caps from going through.

Which is still a big deal, but the network is still intact (why your not killing/incapping it with supers I don't know.)

We haven't had a alarm-clock op for two weeks. Sometimes there is a problem with finding a titan online so we have to fly through those scary gates - even a dozen of them once. Otherwise, the Vale stations are dropping, one by one, and whoever gets the space during the Great Space Swap can clean out the rest of the sov.

I don't know if the DRF HC is discussing who gets what but at the grunt level, we are all picking out our favorite constellations and choosing drapes and rugs for our new station homes.
