The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
The exchange is a Nash equilibrium. While certain individual alliances would be better off if everyone was unaligned, the fact is, it ONLY works if it truly is EVERYONE. For Vale, even if ME+RAGE were to try to stand as a bloc on their own, they would have been steamrolled clean out of Gem months ago. This is without the massive amounts of non-consensual PVP that casually and naturally occurs when you live less than 10jumps from actively hostile alliances.
Small alliances basically committing suicide would not make interesting content. Even the porn threads would get boring as everyone one by one either re-blued each other to survive or died and reformed over and over until they would have leadership willing to re-blue each other. It would be an evolutionary step backwards, and Darwin would move swiftly to ensure anyone who expressed that trait was removed from the gene pool of alliances.

Only way PL could accomplish anything against -A-'s group would be with massive supercap support from the russians or if the -A- group wasn't taking things seriously (like in Delve/Querious)

I know that we in PL are supposed to alternate between "all we do is win" and "we're really actually horrible at eve," but I'm wondering if you could give me an example of a successful offensive by ROL, AAA, or Stain Empire that lasted more then a week and didnt involve shooting a roleplayer dreadfleet that coudn't log off. I'm trying to but I keep coming up with nothing. I mean, I guess they killed your alliance or was that you?
I understand the reasoning behind the existence of the NC, dude, I just don't think that MM does shit for any of you. Propagandas even proved my point with his post that responded to mine, but I guess I'm the only one who wouldn't be feeling all BFFy if my allies were poaching all my SC pilots and best FCs while they ate all the donuts.

To be fair, back in 2006, when -A- was actually good and there were still decent people in SE, they killed Huzzah and Axe. -A- has long since been shit but I'm not sure why people, including Shadoo, still hold Stain Empire and Coven aka "stainwagon" in high regard. They aren't that great, farm stain like NC does Venal, and generally lose even numbered fights -- most of the good people went to Darkside. I guess if you don't speak the language, they are ~mysterious~ and thus somehow more dangerous v0v

- it actually was an -A- guy (Morris Falter) that killed IAC by getting me removed from it ;O everything unsurprisingly fell apart without me but hey since you're bringing up ancient history -A- did crush Axiom Empire way back when in an "offensive" that lasted more than a week

- SE aren't really the "go on an offensive" types, I just remember them being impressive as fuck pvpers back in the day, maybe they still are maybe they aren't, they've done plenty of fighting around Stain and in support of -A- over the years tho

Compare RAWR[+RZR] with BoB/IT or Atlas, compare what they did for their pets, reconsider poaw's post, and with a straight face say again Morsus wouldn't do anything for their smaller allies. It may not be an equally fair and just relation, but within EVE it's almost exceptional safe for Goons' approach.

Back in 2007 when we were had about 400 people in PL (total, not active), had no titans or much of a cap fleet at all, we lived in Stain and were fighting RISE 20 jumps away. Due to office space, our base was 6 jumps from the nearest cloning. Everyone got podded constantly and Mr. Rive created a huge whine thread and suggested we either purge them or more. They have been held in high regard ever since, regardless of their complete irrelvance in any other conflict we've participated in over the last 4 years.
And anyway -- why are we speculating what might happen is someone deployed/defended/what not in this thread anyway?
So far whatever AWagon have done has been met with a shrug from WN, and an accelerated burn of the Vale/Gem area by all parties involved. Ironically, AWagon is actually helping MAGE destruct faster.
You know who has a gigantic super capital fleet? Every single alliance in EVE. ATLAS liked to brag about their huge fleet - where were they? So did AAA and IT. When push has come to shove, the only alliances who have deployed supercapital fleets are the DRF, the NC (in much lower numbers that they are said to have total), and PL, and those are the only ones that matter.- I'm not in PL at the moment and imo my opinions are pretty unbiased

Why do people say this? DRF had already started attacks on Vale and tripled their sov in Geminate a week before the PL contract was announced. By then NC was already having a hard time mustering proper fleets.
I think lauding PL is just a lot of peoples way of justifying losing to the "RMT botter federation" (not saying DRF has won, or will win, but it sure as hell IS winning).

Rus was already winning pretty handily in euro before we arrived, the difference we have made is giving DRF a ustz presence so they don't have to alarm clock 4 nights in a row to have a chance of taking a system. This is why sov change has suddenly accelerated even though there hasn't been that big of a change in actual numbers.
Wasn't the conflict p much a stalemate until PL was hired? DRF had Euro superiority and NC had US. PL was used to tip the balance in DRF favor. Thought this was common knowledge?

NC mobilizes, reclaims all but 020 back.
020 becomes a slaughterhouse with Russians repelling almost daily NC attacks. This goes on for two months.
Early March, DRF begins taking SOV.
By mid-March, all Gem tech moons in DRF hands. DRF also begins to claim SOV, taking 10 Geminate systems. NC begins to suffer from lack of people showing up at CTAs.
By early april, much of eastern and north-western Geminate is either DRF or in reinforce. DRF begins major attacks on Vale, brushing aside almost every NC fleet.
8 April - PL begins to move to Gem.
During April, Russians claim 12 more Geminate systems.

Ok, Rebellion disbands, DRF ends up with 2 station systems. NC makes repeated assaults, with no progress. Lots of supers die. After the final 020 fight, where NC lost 8 titans, numbers drop, and DRF pushes forward.
All timers are moved to USTZ, where DRF is weakest. After modest success, MAGE rallies enough to hold DRF on several late US timers. DRF has taken most of the moons, but momentum stops where sov is concerned.
PL is hired. USTZ numbers drop, NC starts to lose more and more stations. That is where we are today.
