I saw this a long time ago and it is an amazing japanese horror movie.

An old detective and his assistant investigate a series of bizarre suicides.

sadly the trailer is a bit of a spoiler.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Inception. Both great films. Not sure Inception has finished... I may still be watching it.

I saw True Grit (2010) yesterday. Excellent movie. I was surprised that none of the reviews mentioned the great soundtrack.

127 Hours, very well made inspiring film, also as always Boyle selected a great soundtrack.

and i gave blood an hour before seeing it, strangely adequate combination.

The girl with the dragon tattoo.

The girl who played with fire.

The girl who kicked the hornets nest.

Absolutely brilliant, I feel that the US remake is not going to touch the Swedish versions.

    You have excellent taste.
With respect to ancient Rome, dignitas was regarded as the sum of the personal clout and influence that a male citizen acquired throughout his life. When weighing the dignitas of a particular individual, factors such as personal reputation, moral standing, and ethical worth had to be considered, along with the man's entitlement to respect and proper treatment.

I'm really shocked no one has mentioned "Sunshine". Good characters, plot, acting, just pretend the third reel was as god as the first two and you'll be pretty satisfied.

    Soundtrack is pretty good too.

There is enough good culture outside this industry, made by people who won't treat you, the culture consumer, as a potential criminal. Visit a real theater, go to a reading. That is high quality time.
I pay 20 EUR per month and I can go to every movie from Gaumont and MK2 and if I bring my gf I just have to add 4 EUR.

Well, Gaumont and MK2 are underdogs and you're on their home turf. The scheme seems fair enough, and they have some really nice movies. Given the opportunity maybe I'd do that too.

Save from some small film theaters offering some kind of a monthly card for B-Movies there is no service like thes in Germany. None that I know of anyway.

Where about in Germany do you live? Are all the movies dubbed?

I used to have a UGC card for two people at 30 EUR per month until they committed suicide with their stupid business processes. UGC has more cinemas but no room for legs.

I live not far from Opera so I usually go to one of the four Gaumont cinemas there, they have most of the movies there and they are all in original version with subs. MK2 is nice they distribute a lot of independent and foreign movies; I watched that German movie, the Robber, there recently.

Strange, compelling, sinister, imaginative and the ending is pretty much unique. Every bit as heady and sensual as a real perfume- and just as disquieting when you consider the icky ingredients that go into Chanel No_5. Its a film about obsession, how an man is driven by it and ultimately what it costs him. Its also a film about a Perfumer thats a serial killer.

Bear with the ending, it gets wierd.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396171/

Pretty much no blood and gore, but there is a lot of nudity. Rated R

Its also on BBC I player atm for peeps in the UK so you have no excuse not to watch it.

the film features 67 speaking roles, 5200 extras, and 102 sets. Behind the scenes, 520 technicians were employed
You will see why several hundred of those extras were needed near the end of the film in the town square. I wonder if they set a record there?

I really couldn't stand that film, it was more terrible-terrible than terrible-pastiche-nostalgia. Then again, i wasn't alive when the films that its style is aping were being made.

I liked Machete though and Planet Terror is awesome.

I live in Hamburg atm. Generally the movies are dubbed but there are some theaters that screen the original versions with subs. I seldom watch dubbed movies, too much of the movie gets lost by dubbing.
And to be honest I blame dubbing for the awfull accent people from Germany, France, Spain etc. have when speaking foreign languages. Children need exposure to other languages.

I just started downloading Winter's Bone and still looking for a decent torrent of Meek's Cutoff. Are they worth it because they look to be pretty good.

I also want to watch Super

For some reason Sunshine really impressed me. I think it was because I saw Chris Evans in the cast and just thought "hurr sci-fi horror flick" but the individual performances from all the cast are really nice. They really humanize the characters in a quaint and touching way.

Battle: Los Angeles is nowhere near as horrible as the critics would have you believe. Much like 300, there seems to be some sort of disconnect between reviewers and audiences. Or maybe I'm just really lowbrow.

was p good as tv adaptations go. I suspect they are going to lack depth in comparison to the books thanks to the medium. The cast is good though and they seem to be sticking to the plot of the books so far.

I liked it. I'm surprised how much they are actually sticking to the storyline.

As someone who never read the books I enjoyed it.

I just started downloading Winter's Bone and still looking for a decent torrent of Meek's Cutoff. Are they worth it because they look to be pretty good.

Source Code looked to be a terrible rip-off of 12 Monkeys. C/D ?
[Arrador] possesses a considerable understanding of ship configurations, strengths and weakness. He gives clear and purposeful instructions, is good at taking advantage of the fleet-composition he's dealt, and never loses sight of the main goal: fun. This, paired with an excellent tolerance for strong drink gives him an almost Churchillian capability to win, despite being completely pissed on booze most of the fleet operation.

The problem with Battle: Los Angeles is that the actors played the whole time like it was a superhero movie, while camera play and cuts were done for a drama.
