Kugutsumen is Closed to The Public Pending CCP Investigation Results

After talking to CCP representatives for the past few days, I've decided to temporarily close my forums to new registrations and unregistered users.

This has been done in an effort to show goodwill towards CCP so we can have constructive talks about some of the things that are obviously wrong with this game, but I want to stress that it will be temporary if CCP continues to be opaque about these things.

While I understand that it isn't easy to investigate your coworkers and friends for "corruption", at the same time it is not fair to the people who pay to play this game, either.

We all love EVE and our spaceships, and this site is by no means an attempt to tear down any of that.

However, given what I have found out, it is hardly unreasonable to say that currently, CCP at least seems to be doing the tearing down all by themselves through their stronghandedness and unwillingness to work with what is, at the very least, reasonable suspicions.

EVE is just a game, but even so, it's a game that CCP is profitting handily off, and if that game is rigged, then I have no more qualms about exposing the corruption than I would if EVE was a casino.

If CCP is not willing to work with the me on a serious issue like this, and rather prefer to ban my accounts and attempt to silence me, then I will have to work with the players so they know the game is rigged and know what they're paying for.

This has been happening for months. Every time somebody realizes that BoB must have at least one ISD mod helping them out or who are biased towards them and that CAOD is basically BoB's pet project they stop caring and reading/posting in that section. This only furthers BoB's control of that area and it's really sad because even though most of that is trash it's interesting trash and lots of people read it and form opinions based on it.

I love this game. It's been a source of enjoyment, happiness, sorrow, regret, and hope.

CCP has been pretty straight up with the playerbase for some time now, they've had some of the most frank and open lines of comminication I've seen in the 3 MMORPG's I've played over the years.

I've been playing since early 2004, and I have to say, that if CCP doesn't take some "holy shit" steps to rectify this, I'm going to take a long hard look at doing something else.

I know it's one great big sandbox for us all to play in, but it sucks if some of the Teachers hand more sand to one group of kids than the other.

I'm still waiting for the findings to get posted before I condemn CCP.

I for one have 3 Accounts all from 1st day of BETA.
If The Developers and the BOB cheats are not punished I will be disheartened from playing as avidly as I have in the past.

I mean "Whats The Point" if they(CCP) are gonna sweep this all under the rug like it never happened and BOB cannot be beaten on the field of battle? (Fleets moved 75 jumps in 5 minutes, Shooting through POS Fields and going Ooops we didnt know we were doing that) buying and selling accounts, renting the best $$$ area's to ADMITTED Ebay sellers. The list is huge..

Why pay hard earned $$ for BOB to enjoy the game.

I cancelled 2 of my 3 accounts, CCP is investigating i have heard a few times before. They are banning accounts and removing threads for things BoB was allowed to do for 6 months during the ASCN war, and now it hurts BoB its not allowed anymore?

Regarding the investigation, there will be a conclusion to it published, but it's going to be done when there is a conclusion, not before. This investigation, like others, isn't going to be rushed. And yes, it does take days. We are effectively re-auditing all the player accounts, all the time the account has been played, since he started. But more on that later. As pointed out, the process is sometimes as important as the conclusion.

Oveur is a guy I'd trust, for anyone who didn't see the final of the tournament, Oveur commented on reputation, smack and the rest. Some of what he said, to me at least, seemed directly aimed at Band of Brothers as if he wished they'd act with a little more maturity as befits their position in the game, particularly on the forums. Though this could be just wishful thinking on my part.

Nonetheless, it points to the fact that they are doing an investigation more thorough than I'd have initially expected. Plus it hints that more info on progress will be forthcoming soon.

Which is what I want - these allegations to be taken seriously with an indepth review of what's going on. It's reasonable to assume that DBP's character buying antics as well as DigitalCommunists interest in other peoples IPs will come under close scrutiny as a result - plus a lot more that hasn't come to light.
