You realise those are the systems they ninjad up for defense right, doesn't indicate that they are leaving
    Sigged himself retarded.

RKK will leave IT, you don't need draw non-seqs from dotlan data to support this inevitability. All of those systems are worthless fillers conquered literally yesterday.

In a fountain update: Friday night an offline tower in PNQY was destroyed (https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510491) and another PNQY tower reinforced.

Saturday morning USTZ the 6VDT IHUB was destroyed (https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510581) and the station was reinforced into it's final timer (Monday).

Concurrently, our russians were running around lowsec/npc 0.0 reinforcing & killing IT/Raiden. high end moons:
    (2 POS: https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510569, https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510568).

More 6VDT enemy POS were also purged:
    (5 POS: https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510522, https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510523, https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510557, https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510583, https://killboard.goonfleet.com/km/510596).

Saturday afternoon, after continuing Clusterfuck regional control, operations commenced to further dismantle the IT JB network in Fountain. Somewhere between 4-6 POS, JB, and Cynogens were placed into reinforcement, almost all with IT max timers that look pretty good for us. Thus far the weekend has been going well.

I havent seen their breakout attempts get more than 200 dudes. They are going to have a rough time of it if they can't even match our numbers.

I am always here to buy your trapped ships for you at nearly full jita value. Just contract em on over.

edit: I could really use some fighters for my 3 new carrier alts.

Day 4 of the Siege: I have turned to watching Stargate: SG1 to kill time. Occasionally IT bombers make an appearance, then scurry off again.

The best part is if IT even dared to try something due to small numbers of us logged in as soon as they attempted something local in 6VDT would probably shoot up by about 500 within 2 minutes.

So while a delve/q/F resident group of 20 spent 6 or 7 hours gatecamping 9-V and butchered everyone that got bored of 6VDT and tried to get to PNQ, the Clusterfuck head FC and his band of merry men sat in 6VDT doing a plex. "i dont care" was apparently the response about the 6V lemmings. they then proceeded to argue on who got the plex loot.

After 6 hours of many laughs at the lack of goons using the intel channel a fleet was finally formed to kick over our sandcastle.

Never said I was proud of it, though it would help if IT actually showed up. I'd give them extra merit for simply trying and especially so if they were outnumbered. The most exciting thing was their first breakout op and I have to say while it tactically was a complete failure that took some serious balls.

I can understand the reason of your permacamp and it's all good, but seriously, you don't pile hundreds of guys into a system when you want a fight.
I know it's a honored NC-tradition to stuff as many people as possible into a system and later unironically smack because nobody wanted to deliver gudfitez, but, you know, it's still silly.

People want to log in to kill something, to get some action. We aren't in 6VDT for goodfights. We never were. Mittani even addressed this in the SotG. We are there to crush the military stronghold of Fountain.

Hell, we aren't even in Fountain for goodfights.

The funny part is I couldn't agree with you more, kind of sad really.

What he said, it's unfortunate they can't bring the numbers to fight us but in all honesty I've never been a fan of bob/IT so they are nothing I'm going to miss. However I am going to grab the popcorn when goons implode after their 'foreverwar' comes to an end. I mean who knows maybe IT will effectively turtle up in Delve and bounce back in some last ditch blaze of glory riding in upon their Apoc battlesteeds.

Like i said that's perfectly good and understandable. But above statement and this:

People want to log in to kill something, to get some action.
Seems kinda contradicting unless by Fights and Action you mean alphaing the odd Scrub who accidently peeks to close at your manpile. That's all i'm saying.

It's not contradicting unless you are wanting to define "fights and action" as goodfights, which I am not doing. Shooting your guns at an enemy ship is action even if it is alphaing the odd scrub who lands on a gate or bounces off a POS. Slaughters are versions of fights and a repeat of the thursday's turkeyshoot would see numerous cf guys login.

Thousands of hours spent ratting has conditioned the average Northern grunt pilot to derive great pleasure from locking a target, pressing F1 and watching it explode. The wallet-flash of a bounty tick also helps inure them to ship losses in a rather Pavlovian manner.

I guess I'm just supposed to discontinue all my ratting and accumulating ISK because only elite PvPers are allowed to fly anything above a Rifter into battle? Watson, you're simply just not making any sense! I, too, use the word Pavlovian in the place of predictable every chance I get because it makes me sound sophisticated.

And there goes the last IT/etc tower in 6VDT.

We nearly doubled our numbers in local for the 15 minutes around the tower kill (a large portion didn't bother to actually shoot the tower, just camping bubbles). Then half logged again. This is the siege of jabber pings.

We've been running reinforcement fleets into 6VDT every few hours for days now. Only some inquisitive DB admin at CCP really knows how many are logged in system.

Contrary to certain clown graphs, participation (f'ex, numbers just after downtime as a reasonable baseline) has actually been consistently rising despite the lack of action. Were a ping to go out that suggested an actual contest over the system I suspect we'd see, uh, more.

That's what really burns IT. It's what hurt them in P-R, it's what slaughtered them in H-W, and it's what is finishing them now. Yes, our numbers may look small in local, but one jabber ping and all of a sudden a zillion bored, bloodthirsty slackers log in and XTFU. And our morale - and our efficiency - is high, because we don't have to be logged in every minute of every day to wait for the word from On High that now is the time to log in.

Mind you, we do anyway, because it's hilarious and we get kills. But we're there because we want to be, not because we have to be.

And our morale - and our efficiency - is high, because we don't have to be logged in every minute of every day to wait for the word from On High that now is the time to log in.

Mind you, we do anyway, because it's hilarious and we get kills. But we're there because we want to be, not because we have to be.
Actually I think its more along the lines of "they are terrible".

But that other stuff is ok I guess.

Slaughters are versions of fights and a repeat of the thursday's turkeyshoot would see numerous cf guys login.
Yeah i figured that's what you're meaning, we just have different views of the term "Fights" i guess.
Personally i couldn't be bothered to spend my evenings bored to death in basically a bigger and more boring version of a gatecamp, even when it's strategically the right thing to do.

I think its more that IT seem unable to contemplate simply jump cloning away and setting up shop elsewhere, in PR they should have all just moved to a different system, hell even aridia, brought new ships and got on with it not just sat in the same station like retards. So they'll lose assets, big deal they will lose they anyway if they just sit there, they could be in new ships hitting other systems instead

That's really not the point, Elendar.

The entire 6VDT campaign is one giant F You to It. Tis about showing It that we can beat them at any time, for an entire week - and there's nothing they can do about it. The strategic goals aren't irrelevant, but they're completely secondary to the political implications.

My point is that they should just go eh so what if you want to sit in one system we'll reinforce all the others, not spend the week going oh noes not our station!

This is thinking like a rational person and a rational person woudn't be in IT Alliance (at least by now) in the first place

The best way to greet the weeklong seige of 6VDT would have been to SBU PNQ and J5A, along with "eye of terror" network systems. It would have either forced a lessening/lifting of the camp in 6VDT, gained a morale boost since at least some strategic gains would have balanced out the losses, and lessened the ease with which logistic can be run from Deklein.

All I can assume is that this is a terrible plan and that I should never ever be in charge of a campaign

There are very few alliances in 0.0 than can be characterised as rational

They should promote you to head FC already.
I'm kinda surprised IT hasn't done this since it would have been enough to pull us away allowing them to regain control of 6VD-T.

Well, thanks for the lesson in that a well geared gate-camp > noobie learning which buttons to press in a Covops.

I think the reason they don't want to break that camp or secure the pipe is the same reason they don't run relief gangs out of 6VDT. It means that for the average goon once they're in 6VDT they're as much trapped there as IT is (barring alts of course). And it boggles my mind that so many people would spend so many hours staring at empty bubbles and listening to boat for so long. If you try to explain Eve game-play to someone who doesn't know about it they'll think you're joking.

Also amusing was boat asking for fleet hurricanes and fast tackle for the process of camping the system and guarding against bombers and having to defend the fact that goons have a zero reimbursement policy for just about every ship with those capabilities. Watching a Maelstrom chasing stealth bombers is just painful.

While you're on the right path trying to be proactive, you're unfortunately falling prey to the standard BoB fallacy of doing the same thing you already failed at three times, only perhaps this time with a few more people. The Endlessly Plunging Fist strategy always ends with the Sphincter of Terror contracting around your wrist and slowly cutting off circulation.

Out of the box thinking would have been to at least temporarily forget about Fountain entirely, podjump to Empire or Syndicate and strike the flanks of the deep Cloud Ring stations to pull away our allies, or drive into EC- and head north from there to hit our rathavens and home systems with ~wulfpax~. Luckily Molle hasn't pulled anything out of the box that wasn't a heat exchanger in years

As somone who genuinely has little idea about the grand sweeps of campaign strategy I don't get why my idea is so horrible.

As I see it the current situation is that we have logged-off supers and caps stranded in 6VDT and you have a significant propotion of your active pilots camping the system. Secondly, you guys are able to easily resupply at will via the cloudring bridge network, with reserves in PNQ.

So it would seem that hitting the bridges and/or PNQ would either:

    a) have a much higher degree of success if you keep your pilots ect in 6VDT, which if successful would make fighting the campign more . Combine that with PL hitting you at home would make sitting in 6VDT while the world burns much less attractive.

    b) we break your camp, getting out supers and caps out (possibly additional assets) since half of you burned off to defend your supply route. The added bonus is that we get a much needed morale boost. Of corse going forward this changes nothing since you can go back to camping but it might motivate our guys and save assets - making 6VDT "just another" station sytem.
