Well -- RAGE did ask anyone who cares about them to step up an come help them. The people who cared showed up.
Having seen RAGE carry on in allied comms and on field over the years -- can't say I'm suprised tbh. Guess people figured it's not worth throwing stuff to the BBQ for MAGE anyway. They can install someone with less of an attitude disorder there once RUS declares mission success and heads home.

Even if that was true (and you'd want titans too), you could hold your alliance numbers without owning space, convince people to rat to that extent without slitting their wrists, find someone willing to sell you a pre-built super-cap fleet, not get that fleet welped while you are building strength you'd still have fallen behind the number the DRF empire (which includes a NAP-fest for the participants) would have popped out in the meantime given they'll have NC tech and drone region minerals. A war of attrition with an empire spanning half of null-sec isn't worth paying 15$ a month for. And besides which, if you are a NC super-capital pilot or FC you can probably find a place somewhere in the blob... it worked for Raiden.
This is pretty much the Eve end-game I reckon. Two massive blue-blobs except one sold off it's supers, crushed the spirit of its FCs and got fat and lazy. Maybe they'll get time to recover from that, but hardly a sure thing. And the remaining "powers" are largely no challenge to either blob.
Don't get me wrong though, I support it. Eve is a war game and wars should eventually have a victor.
