A successful defense of 49- means the regions stay securely in the hands of the HBC, while a successful destruction of the invading -A- fleet and its SBUs generates an impressive killboard, and another hilarious -A- comms leak.

So there's not really a lot to say, we formed up a huge number of dudes with the vast majority (400+) coming from TEST and DAWWW with maybe a dozen or two for each FA, RZR, PL and TRIBE. We cynoed Rokh fleet in and warped to their Rokh fleet at 100 on the IHUB. -A- might complain about blobbing but two evenly matched Rokh fleets with a ~60 man drake fleet thrown in should honestly make for a good brawl. Anyway, our first primary caught reps and then we went on to cycle through 50+ battleships faster than Dysphonia could broadcast them. The second alpha/rokh fleet showed up kinda late and -A- were already whipped and beaten at that point. We camped them into a pos while bringing caps/supers to bash/rep stuff. Smug was had and our bodies were not ready. (Reddy?)

Also notice that like 90% of their kills were T1 cruisers and rifter newbros and we only lost one Rokh, a handful of Scorps and maybe five recons/logi. -A- just got stomped into the ground by TEST, talking about being shit.

Also Lee Chanka lost a lg snake clone and one of our ARSED dudes who never logs in lost a full slave set to friendly bombers.

You actually drop the maels down to 1200 arty for a start - its not ideal, but it just about works. Seeing as TEST is in a transition phase between rokhs and maels, its really NBD; my main complaint with having maels in fleet is that they are killed easier.

Shit if you really needed split that 1200 arty into 2 groups. Problems all solved.

Ok, so, in the interest of actual content, for once, I’ll post a BR from my pov (I was FCing the TEST mainfleet, and shit).

After –A- came along and reinforced 49-, and the assorted skirmishes there, I went ahead and posted all hands on dick ops for TEST – and started getting everyone working on the same page. Thankfully, our allies are fantastic, and were the coolest motherfuckers around. Thanks to everyone who is still down south and came to play.

We formed up at 2330 EVE. Within 2 minutes the fleet was full. Mother of fucking God. The drake fleet, FC’d by Richter and Montolio (Who has said he will be logging in more) hit 150 dudes. Please note this is all almost exclusively TEST/DAWWW. Everyone else was in other fleets, mainly. We formed up on titans, and both fleets jumped in simultaneously, on different sides of a pos. It was delightful; call it accidental tactical tidi.

-A- got into system before we did, with a bit under 250 rokhs, and went and sat on the ihub. The problem is, that the ihub was still in reinforce for a good 20 minutes when my fleets arrived on grid with them; they seemed to just be sat there, JOing eachother or something. Most curious. In the first of many moves from Makalu, the tactical genius decided to just sit there at 400 TEST warped to say hello. We warped at 0 to the planet, so I had literally no idea what range we would land at; 80km, as it turned out, which was pretty much perfect*

We started trading blows. I fully expected to lose more than we did, and to kill less than we did. It did however transpire that I was broadcasting 4 targets in a bloc, and they’d all die, no need for me to say shit on mumble, nothing. It was really rather annoying; I dislike not being in full control, but at the same time, kinda cool that we were just destroying things so goddam hard. At some point Leetcheese broadcasted a few targets; people he didn’t like, basically. At this point Makalu died, and soco, not having the smartest of line members, had no one step up to continue, so they bailed to their safe pos.

During all of this, PL/RZR/-FA- fleet cynoed in, made a few errors, and showed up at the end to whore on some KMs, like kings. The rokh fleet then camped –A- into their pos, while the TEST cap fleet, and the other subcap fleets, went off and shot SBUs, and allowed defensive ones to be anchored.

*I kept the two rokh fleets about 80km apart. My fleet had superior DPS and logistics numbers, and were still chewing through things at a fucking rate of knots; they were having trouble breaking scorpions, due in no small part to being at a bit of range, and splitting their DPS between them and rifterbros ;_;

Personally I’m still amazed at getting 400 dudes in fleet; with a little warning, and a little hype, we managed fantastic things. Goons went home so we could grow up; I think last night is conclusive evidence that TEST is no longer a child. We’ve got a long way to go to keep doing this, but we can do what no one expected.

Confirming that having the same target-calling for ships that fire every 6sec and ships that fire every 24sec is a sound and pragmatic concept. Even if you split your guns into two groups and perfectly stagger your timing, you're still only getting in on every second primary. As Dysphonia mentions (good point; I didn't consider that offhand), it'd be a different beast if -A- et al were rolling 1200mm Maels - split your guns into two groups and you can just about keep pace with the 425mm rails - but they are not.

But Test alone were able to bring 374 members to deal with a hostile fleet of 228, and that's before you count regional allies, let alone visiting ones. I guess they're going to have to look elsewhere for a challenge since AAA are fairly comprehensively living down to expectations.

Delve is fun without a sov-hungry opponent nearby; the NPC areas are home to a number of small gang PVP groups who will play if you're down for that kind of thing. It's not exactly foreverwar, but it's also a lot less predictable and a lot more fun for individual pilots.
