BL smugged up Muninns and smugged on FA's door. While we smugged around for FA to form up Mfume managed to smug a hulk a few jumps out. As we smugged the 4 jumps a hero Dramiel forced Mfume to disensmug, but luckily the legendary wheniaminspace had already landed in his indestructible Stiletto. Performing several barrel rolls and 360s he maintained smug on the lone exhumer. This is when the locals decided it was go time and warped a Thanatos by itself into the belt.
I'll never understand the reasoning that leads to risking a 2bill Thanatos (lol nice tracking computer) along with a 2bill pod to attempt to save a 200mill Exhumer.
This gave FA enough time to finish forming up. Smug-drunk over our elite kills we smugged through the gate into their battleships. Using our smug as a shield we smugged into their ranks and brawled. Mad props to poaw for stepping up and FCing when nobody else wanted to.
After the brawl poaw assured us FA's courage was still in high supply. After a bit of waiting they had formed up again for round 2. Around this time a new FC stole command from poaw who was wary of engaging us on our terms, leading to a long period of us smugging around without any action. However, at this point our smugness had reached critical mass, enabling us to smug straight through the FA fleet's defensive bubbles and smug right on them. FA courage faltered, bailing as our bubble smugged a chunk of their fleet. Taking losses and without an FC who has a PhD in courage (like poaw), the FA fleet stood down.

Smugging aside, credit is due to poaw and the other pilots who came back for round 2 when a lot of people would have just pussied out and stood down.

Isn't it the end of the line for a lot of these guys, especially with the titan nerf (and future intended nerf/changes)? Some more details:
A little over a year ago, I became CEO of this alliance. With my coronation into this position, I inherited some responsibilities which were remains of our former regime. One of these responsibilities was living up to a promise made to a small alliance living in Syndicate, Black-Mark. When they were introduced to me I pored over their killboards and set them on tasks to accomplish small goals. They achieved every one of them. Initially, they were good to work with and were fun neighbors. They seemed to have competent leadership and a good atmosphere to blend into this coalition fluidly. As I said, initially things went well. I used my newly acquired status as CEO of FA, ties within the NC and the newly formed CFC to get them access to all the intel channels and in to fleets. For a small alliance, they did well for themselves. However, had issues with playing nicely on the diplo front. There was always an argument or something we needed to help them manage. This is to be expected from a small alliance just breaking into null sec but over time, it's something you expect that would mature. It didn't. Relationships between BLM and the Coalition remained cold and my desire to continually defend their right to be here grew tiresome and began taking up more time than I wanted to invest.
This all came to a head a few weeks ago when the BDEAL fiasco went down. We were getting blamed for things that former BDEAL corps were doing in Fountain, things they were doing against TEST's wishes (like evacing assets), but the corps in TEST's gaze weren't in FA - they were in Black-Mark. This created more friction between us and the coalition and quite frankly was destroying what I had built for you all. The final straw was when their CEO's started coming to me and complaining about issues within their alliance. I personally lost confidence in their ability to function and it's time to bid them farewell.
Black-Mark have done well over the past year supporting FA and have worked hard to support our objectives. There are a lot of 'behind the scenes' things which I cannot share right now, but I'd like to remember them as the little alliance who could, tried but just fell short. Please remember, their transition is going to be a rough one and this is not a hostile expulsion. So, treat them with respect, they've always treated us with such. Many of their corps will be coming over so help in any way you can to assist them in getting acclimated into our culture.
Black-Mark has been awarded a week to remove their assets from Cloud Ring which will be peacefully handed over to Executive Outcomes. They are being allowed to use our comms until they've fully been evacuated. There will be no harassment of them and if there is any, bans will take place (-Artctura). In fact, if they ask for help in any way please assist them.
