So this whole not playing Eve thing has come up from time to time with increasing frequency lately and I was actually wondering how true the stereotype of kugu being full of "unsubbed bitter vets" actually is.

So this whole not playing Eve thing has come up from time to time with increasing frequency lately and I was actually wondering how true the stereotype of kugu being full of "unsubbed bitter vets" actually is.
I'm playing, but then again i'm part of the "retarded 09ers shitting up Kugu" Stereotype.
i occasionaly undock and lose a ship too, so i guess ticking "yes, i regularly log in." is a good choice
Judging from the views on the forum, I think a lot of the general population of kugu still actively plays eve and takes an interest in the day to day politics; but I think it's fair to say that a fair number of the active, regular posters no longer play - cippa, yorda etc. This probably makes it look disproportionate - and the ( think) majority of those who do play are almost afraid or intimidated to post due to the trolling people get - sometimes deserved, sometimes not.
i don't play anymore, I have a trade alt subbed but I log in once a week. If CCP fixed lag, then maybe I'll resub.
busy irl so just changing skills nowadays though a year ago I probably would have made time. Who knows with this NC/SC thing might have a resurgance in activity once I get some free time.
Ofcourse most people on this forum play eve. The ones that don't just make it very clear they're not playing.
i actively play, but i am in the same boat as Pripyat i guess.
Dont play on my primary accounts, but from time to time (like every 3-4 days) when RL allows x up for some fun on my various friends ones.
But mostly chat or if iam like some lag screen of death.
Still recovering from burnout from leadership of first 6 months of 2009.
i have one active account (only ever had one account), but it finished training something earlier this week and i haven't bothered logging in to change skills yet
*whooshes cape*
During December to beginning April I scarecly played, really just logged in to switch skills and chat a bit. With MAX2 there's at least some reason to bear with shitty Dominion.
The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
Hmm.
I let all but one accounts lapse and moved all the characters i considered essential onto it. I then only logged in to change skills and infiltrate and rip off Empire corps, this paid handily for my gametime with enough isk left to buy a fleet of Cynabals, Fleet stabbers and a few Sleipnirs. More than I'd get through in 6 months of roaming PVP.
I then accidentally forgot to buy another plex and dont have any real compulsion to re-sub with the state EVE is in at the moment and the direction CCP want to take it in. So the 'No' answer is most accurate unless i petition for 1 day activation to buy a plex and finish training a capital pilot and play toxic wasteland planet wrecker when the new expansion hits.
Not Dead, Just Sleeping
I wouldn't be hanging around a forum about the game if I didn't play. I think I might give EVE about 12 more months then call it a day. I don't really like the direction EVE is heading and I think things will get a lot worse before things get better. I don't think EVE will die, the crap they are doing will probably attract more retards than it forces out so I think numbers-wise EVE will be fine. CCP just has horrible coders, developers have great ideas but they pretty much butcher everything.
I'll have to find some other game to distract me so I don't have to deal with the little woman.
I still have an account, but I pretty much quit once Delve 2 was won. That had been the goal ever since I began playing, and I didn't really see much left to do as a result.
i rarely log in long, and if i do its on my industrial alt to mess with some production jobs and booster reactions while chatting, to buy hacs i wont use
important news flash: i just logged in and trained a skill
booya
On my second year of eve, have taken breaks every now and then but always kept my skill training going. Have tried numerous other mmo's-- keep coming back to eve as none of them hold my interest like Eve does.
I log in, but due to school can't do much more than train skills or rat for an hour or two to buy plex every month.
I log into my two subs to change skills and update market orders. Haven't been on a roam in months. Just apathetic about EVE right now.
I have 2 accounts up right now, but run primarily with one only, mainly logging in for skillchanges, trade updates as of late, and an occasional lowsec/0.0 roam. Mostly bored with EVE other than the political dicking around of it.
People complaining about kug being "full" of bitter vets are really just referring to a few people who post a lot.
Like me.
The idea that I have "free will" is the only irrational belief that I allow myself.
If I am wrong, I had no choice in the matter.
I still log in, though I go in kind of a manic/depressive loop, logging in all the time for about a week, then leaving for another week or so.
S'ok, I got Starcraft 2 beta and have been paying way more attention to that than pretty much anything else (including work that I realllllly need to do)

I log in,I don't necessarily get to load anything like grids or screens but I still log in.That counts right?
skill changer represent, although thats as much do to being busy with school as being bored with eve.
I play - I guess that's alot to do with suddenly finding a rejuvenated interest now that I have a project I can get my teeth into (C0NVICTED - new Aussie Biased alliance I'm building in Southern Syndicate atm). Burned out a bit when Huzzah disbanded late last year, and the whole RAZOR experience pretty much pissed me off no end (not FC related - Phreeze knows what I'm talking about :P).
Since I only started off playing at all and only have the one account I play since mid-2006, I'm a fair way behind the curve than alot of you - so no doubt I'll catch up in the bitter stakes - just takes time :P
I play and I have fun.
Lag is ridiculous and not really fun. But eve doesn't stop there , roaming can be hilarious
I have two active accounts and I log in when I can(well, and want to). Unfortunately that's not very often at the moment due to work and other IRL crap, so right now it's pretty much all about the skills.
Its really sad to see so many posters play the game. I hoped for more armchair generals, actually i hoped that we could create here our own posting kugu game mimicking eve in text.![]()
*you come to a gate in space. what do you do?*
I jump though
*you see a devoter and Vindicator on the other side. It is 0.0 space*
I attempt to warp.
*Your bustard is warp disrupted. You are at 1/2 shields*
I approach the gate
*You are blown up and podded. You lost a lot of isk*
*would you like to try again? (y/n)*
Sounds like fun.
I was recently forced to become much less active (as in not really play) by RL responsibilities. Unfortunately these sorts of responsibilities (wife, child on the way) don't tend to go away over time so I see my time in Eve coming to an end.
I look forward to angry vet status.
I am playing and it is quite fun. Kinda bummed about the northern campaign though, the amount of targets before the invasion happened was way better.

Thats how i play my eve
IMO highsec griefing is where its at. Sure its not politically fancy and the numbers are still dwarfed by even the smaller 0.0 entities. Inflicting real emotional distress on people who want to be shut-ins? PRICELESS.
Finding out the guy you just griefed is using that toon as an isk faucet for 0.0? Even funnier!
Well, what can I say? I R 2009 shit noob. The more stuff changes, the more that stays the same I guess.
I get all excited when I read some of this crap and I wish I were playing right at the moment, which usually means I'm at work. But when I get home and I have the time to play it just sounds awful and too much of hassle. I try to get involved with all the crap that is happening but it just isnt that exciting.
Sex > Drinking > Sleeping > Masturbating > EVE > Work
Office jobs are for mining c/d
Eve needs just a tiny tube to run so the bandwith used is less than on forum signatures or avatars.. You can easily play Eve on gprs (through mobile).
So in this matter can totally run it in office.. Also as you can specify the port/server in most cases its able to push it through some forwarding proxy (as besides Eve voice there is just signle ip/tcp port) to avoid corporate firewalls.
Also run it windowed and the ingame mailclient fullscreen so its totally your new mailreading tool and Skype/Msn replacement ... if anyone asks![]()
