    Default Recon Specs

    Sniper

    Spec 1

    Ballanced :

    Jetpack Power 1/1

    Power Pool Increase 1/1

    Infiltration :

    Recon Offhand Recharge 1/1

    Marksman :

    Stim Duration 1/1

    Stim Boost 1/1

    Recon Rifle Effective range 1/1

    Recon Rifle Accuracy 1/1

    Recon Rifle Damage 1/1

    Recon Rifle Power Cost 1/1

    Recon Rifle Damage 1/1

    Recon Rifle Damage II 1/1

    Killer Instinct 1/1

    Super Sharpshooter 1/1

    Recon - Spec 2

This one is a variation of the first spec but instead of putting the spare point in infiltration you also get Team Boost Increase from the Balanced tree.

    Devices:

Some maps/teams are terrible for sniping, in that case I play with bionics/visual scanner and Rogue SMG, else I go with Bionics/Ranged Stim, and Scorpia Sniper Rifle. Instead of bionics you could probably pic mines and make a small mine fortress around you to lure enemies there if getting attacked. 3-4 mines can oneshot most classes.

    ---------

Melee recon is terrible at the moment so I won't even bother with melee recon specs.

Super sharpshooter blows, the best build for sniping right now is: http://serv.hexagenda.com/skills/recon.html#maqh0c83

Your Visual Scanner should only have a downtime of about 3-4 sec and the damage is about the same (thanks to +11% damage from balance). Plus you're much more tanky, have way more energy, and will have bionics up most the time.

Mines seem really buggy right now, they seem to randomly do double or triple damage and I can't quite figure out why (it's not mine stacking, as I've had 2 stacked mines hit 5 times).

this looks more of an SMG than sniping build.

What I want for sniping is max dmg output and mobility, I really don't care about tanking since I won't either play sniping games with other snipers, or sit around when being spotted. Mobility and max damage I what I care about most. I tried a similar spec out the last day of the beta and I could nearly 2-shot most classes.

The jetpack skill is also a must for me since without it many spots I use for sniping are not reachable.

This is what bionics is for (which is almost always up). Being able to see stealthed recons pretty much constantly is a huge help as a sniper. You're giving up 9% damage, 5% RoF, and -10% powercost for ~20% less damage taken, 20% power pool return, 27% less cool downs, 5% more healing taken, +5% melee/AoE damage (for melee/bombs), +10% hp, and 15% ground speed.

Again, it's very relevant to your playstyle. The ROF buffs work very well with the scorpia rifle, while the +5% melee/aoe damage is completely useless when I roll with bionics/ranged stim since I never stick around for a close-range fight and I don't have anything that deals AoE. Healling bonuses are also nearly useless.

I'll test it though, I really can't decide at the moment.
