Corps are allowed to bid as individuals for moons and if they win the CEO/directors are responsible for making sure someone takes care of the moon.

It's based on a monthly system I believe. You have to do all the logistical work for it, and the auction system is a reverse dutch system. You start at 120% of the value of the moon and then knock off % until someone takes it.

Afaik they dont sell the moons, what they do is a % auction, whoever wants to keep the least get's to mine it and control it, with all the work and effort that entails..
From what I*ve heard the proprietors of the moon keep a certain %, so say a Dysprosium generates .. i dunno 350M a day? and it's in a easy to monitor / control system, PL bidders would keep maybe 5-7% of the generated moongoo/isk (not sure which, I'd assume moongoo tho)
If it's in a hard to access/control system, they can get to keep upwards of maybe 20%.. So .. in total ..
Easy system/moon: ~25M a day
Difficult system/moon: ~70M a day
Nowadays the average percentages are between 15 and 20%. Those can be significantly higher in very dangerous areas. Highest I can think of off the top of my head is 50%.
