Don't mind TEST and PL, we were just out on separate unrelated roams with 50 Drakes and 50 Rokhs and we just happened to pass through a system at the same time. No big deal.

A very brief writeup for the slightly confused amoungst you;
We had a newbro FC’s* first fleet today; he decided to take out some drakes, and go rolling around. Nulli counter formed in their bizarre nanoartycane fits (I still don’t get these); they have a couple more duders, and a better fleet comp. We had a little under 50 dudes, only 4 scimitars, and no matter how much we asked, no claymore(this was what killed us).
We rolled down to C3N area, fagged around a little, saw the fleet coming, set up off a gate. Our FC gets us a little far from the gate, so we have to turn around and move back a bit as the canes jump in. Obviously, a combination of the cane’s claymore bonuses, and us needing to change direction a lot allowed the canes to get on top of us; after losing the FC pretty early on, we go out of there, bounce safes for a while. I get pinged, asking if PL can come play. Sure. We set up so that the remaining drakes head to QY1 and brawl it out there, they cyno in some dudes and blam, rape.
Almost went perfectly, apart from the fact PL cynoed in before most of the cane’s were aggressed, so they just gate crashed and hid. Mistakes were made. We went home.

Also, the canes have great engagement range are quick and chew through things pretty quickly, their pretty ideal for fighting drakes. I don't really understand what's not to get about them.

Yeah, he was webbed and scramed pretty much instantly, then richter took over and you didn't shoot him, which is rare.
They have an ok engagement range; you're actually hampered a fair bit by the cane's frankly abysmal lock range. You then have to deal with having to use things like RCUs and all that shit. Your enagagment range isn't actually all that good, really, and medium arty is generally reasonably ineffectual against BC and above, assuming the other fleet has a decent logi number (TEST often doesn't :3). I see the logic behind them, I'm just not a fan of it, I do wish artycanes were more viable in general though, because they are kinda cool.

There was a fight in 75FA in Fountain over a Godfather Dyspro moon. The newbie alliance Aurora Shadow had put it in RF the previous day, and came back with shield BS/BCs to finish it off. A camp was set up on the WY- gate to keep G0dFathers from breaking out of their home system, while capitals were dropped to take out the tower.
Godfathers and their allies Gang Bang Team formed up with ~50 triple plated BS with 6 guardians, and jumped into the TASHA camp. In addition they batphoned Hun Reloaded who surprised TASHA (Aurora Shadow) with a shield BC fleet. RA also appeared, and seemed to shoot everyone. TASHA was rapidly overwhelmed and welped most of the fleet. RA stayed on the field longer in kiting tier 3 BCs popping numerous Godfather BS.
Halfway through the siege cycle I saw things werent going well, and called siege red. All the capitals capped up and jumped out just as a sabre and some fast tackle landed on them.
After securing the system, HUN settled down on the Dyspro moon to rep it back up in scimitars.

The artycanes have some versatility though. I remember when TEST was experimenting with muninn's 6 months or so back. Knowing what we were facing, it only took a module swap for range to counter with the artycanes.
Of course the fact that the fleet was only made up out of 25% muninn's, didn't help their cause.
Was a huge adrenaline rush hitting 80% cap and jumping out just as a sabre landed.

Fuck yeah its the best way to learn. My second fleet I lost billions in hurricanes and got Grath killed. It was great. Its the TEST way, and actually it works pretty well.
Yeah, that last part is literally the embodiment of TEST. But yeah, not a fan of the artycanes; and fitting a nano to them makes me sad as someone with a massive hardon for nanocanes. One day I'll convince all of test to fly nanocanes. :911:

Meh, we figured you werent FCing since you were on gate in the sabre, the guy who was calling targets wasn't Canaris who is fond of finding richter and shooting him because it elicits him to badpost every single time. Beyond that list, I at least didnt even know who the FC was. He probably should have tried not to be the closest to the targetcaller though since we were distance down kill everythinging.
How are they ineffective against anything BC and above? I can go look and find tons of BR's where we kill the shit out of some drakes. Against battleships hell yes their ineffective though, but they do quite well against drakes tbh, and we have doctrines for killing battleships.

They're basically BL muninns, except tankier and slower. If we have enough logi we can save a drake but otherwise they're just gonna alpha through it.
When we've fought them in drakes, we've lost mainly because of our lack of logi; they're able to broadcast early and rep the missile damage while we save a handful of drakes that broadcast and loose the rest until we're hopelessly outnumbered.
Yeah, we had richter calling targets, I'm still shocked he wasn't shot. and yeah, I just trained dictors, so I'm fucking around with those. p mad you lucky decloaked me 3km off that gate forcing me to bubble early. SUCH IS LIFE.
And the thing is, a lot of the time you're fighting TEST fleets; you guys get good fleet comps most of the time and have bonuses, we have the opposite. I dislike artycanes in general, I feel that you're too range limited, and then you gotta fuck around with ammo. I dunno, its partially because I dont think it'd work against a well comped and equal size fleet, and partially because I have a real hardon for autocannon canes. You guys manage to make it work for you though, through sheer blind luck or whatever it is, I have no idea.
Also you guys just dumpstered one of our fleets, good work.
And they don't have a built in smartbomb firewall that they are 90+% em resisted against, they align slower, are overall slower, and have a bigger sig thus take more incoming fire.
If firewalling wasn't currently broken on TQ and SiSi Munnins would have been much better off, I may give Elo shit but they have the Munnin thing about as fucking pimp as you can get it, I'd just steal that and learn how to work it if I were you guys. You're doing amazing in TEST at comp diversification, theres no harm in learning the old ways of the elite and trying out LR hacs (essentially what the munnins are)
The single best argument for reimbursements is that bad fits don't get paid.
Grath's argument against them, that they make players sloppy and lazy, are sort of moot in TEST's case.
We're always sloppy and lazy.
