[E/N] Remedial's Major Economic Meltdown

So I just called my mother a snobby bitch and hung up on her, very likely severing the one source of steady income that I had.

There's a long story and a short story here. I'll spare everybody the long one.

The short story is that my parents have always been really "disappointed" that I got accepted to Harvard after attending an elite prep school for 12 years, and promptly turned it down to go to some hippy college in Maine to be a rhetoric major and future lawyer. They're also disappointed that I fell in love with, and am marrying, a poor Puerto Rican girl who has no wealth prospects. They're further disappointed that I'm not even going to be a corporate lawyer type and sell my soul to a New York law firm for $135k a year.

All of this came to a head today because I put part of my hotel bill on my "emergency" credit card, triggering another round of "what are you doing with your life you miserable failure" from mumsy and dadsy. At one point she said something about not marrying up to my potential and I flipped my shitter and expressed about 10 years worth of repressed hatred for their snobbishness.

Sooooooooo anyway I'm probably going to not be affording a lot of things next month, including internet, and Eve, and food. I've got to go find a part time job while complying with the insane ABA rules about not working more than 10-20 hours a week or whatever, and still stay on top of my school and clinic work.

I have no idea how I'm going to make ends meet, which is why I posted this thread. It's also why I'm looking for a roommate (shameless plug).
Anyway, I hate myself and I'm having a shitty week. I have a wedding to pay for in less than 6 weeks and I'm broke. Hope you all are doing better.

My mummy loves me too. I make enough money that last week I spent more than half my pay on toys, without even considering whether I could afford it. I don't get paid a lot in respect to my experience, but my boss is going to try and get me a pay rise soon. In the order of about US$7.5k/yr at todays prices. None too shabby
