Explain to me what tri is actually trying to accomplish. Tri mk1 controlled a great section of space, failure cascaded, came back to kill Hydra, fought for awhile, got scared off, then Tri mk3 went to Venal and took r64 only to get 900 people to destroy them, now tri mk4 is in NPC delve or Stain or something?

Do they want space? Do they want r64s? Or just extreme pvp? Because there is no way of getting any space without some powerbloc destroying them, and same goes for r64s.

Still MK3, we didn't manage to destroy them last time, they're more durable than latex this time around, as for when they held space.. They decided to just disband 1 day when they felt they were no longer having fun, and I don't really blame them, they held down for 5 months basically crushing any opposition that tried anything, while seeing Triumvirate become something they never wanted it to be, i.e another carebear alliance like all our (NC) alliances.

There's a quote in the last Batman movie: "Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Well, I've been in Mk2 and basically we were looking for fun and splosions. Kind of like ADHD, when maintaining the whole towers and stuff was we decided it was all meh and that was it. We lived of killing other gangs. The ratters were ok too, but I always feel a little bit dirty after killing a poor sod in a belt, thats why I don't do that much...

And no, if you read Mittens definition of a failure cascade, neither of the two explosions of TRI were failure cascades. There was no rationalization and no dissociation with the alliance in the member base, nor a "duress" that the people were enduring. Was actually pure fun from day 1 to the last day.

I can't play that active right now, if I had the time I'd be in TRI.

It appears that xttz will be stepping back his involvement in the game, though he will still be playing. Xttz was a Goonswarm titan pilot, head of OHGOD's supercap production, active in logistics and had a part in several other areas. CEO Pyrex of Darkstar1 (a nonGoonfleet Goonswarm corp) will head the supercap production from now on but I don't know what will happen to the titan. It appears that Triumvirate actually has a negative K/D ratio with Goonswarm right now.

I know K/Ds usually don't count but for a ganking organization like Tri they really do matter. Remember, K/D is only unimportant if one side flies vastly more expensive ships than the other or if there are over arching achievements that one side is trying to accomplish. Neither is the case here. Of course this is largely down to OEG though I am sure the thousands of LWTAX ratters were of some help, surely...

The Drekla Consortium, a 100+ pop. corp left SCA after being in it for a week. SCA has actually grown recently and briefly had over a thousand members. A thirty-eight member corp left Majesta Empire. Etherial Dawn and Cult of War lost their only stations with CoW's being immediately retaken by Kraftwerk.

The Germans do a much better job of reporting on northern conflicts due to the large number of them in the area but man are they bad posters. Their CAOD is seriously the same as the English version was back in 2005. Incidentally can anyone provide me with the link to the French version? I remember them being pretty smart years ago but I haven't looked in forever.

there was a lul after the great war but once people realized its not just about goons vs bob it has gotten a second wind. There is also a contest running for best propaganda, battlereport, news, or other posted item by reporters. Other groups are connecting with that prize and making a big combo prize to be announced later this month. just over one month old and its just getting its feet on the ground, so it will take a bit of growth and development to get going with a full head of steam.

It also looks better and is more advanced than most any eve related site out there.

Not like we are actively advertising it, a few eve-o posts about things and word of mouth are pretty much it. Still have a lot of development work to do on it. want to build in a map system for battle reports, a high speed file server to host our own content like video and files for eve players like a small verison of eve files. This time next year it will be completely different and have a ton of added features.

Well, agreeing on what Torshin said about the 4 ex-Aggro-corps, which are also, btw all ex-IRC as well. Will be interesting since 5n4keyes is in Atropos now (the guy Lord Seth flipped over, see the Aggro porn here). On the other hand M-X have been founding Members of ME and have been involved in ME's alliance leadership over the time as well as being heavily incorporated in ME's logistics. So it's surely not an unexperienced group of ppl in M-X (and therefore assumingly in Atropos as well) running the show. Just sometimes not the easiest ones to deal with.
Without any doubt M-X though knew which buttons to push (i.e. what ppl to convince over in the NC) to get half of vale right away with their new alliance.

It wouldn't be too hard for them, they were NC known and Initiative did left an large portion of space, NC didn't want that vacuum nor either of theirs alliances needed to expand (maybe CO2), ME holding half of vale should be enough for theirs 1300 members or it was an way of saying hey you need to do better if you want more space, who knows (only them).

Besides, being in fail alliances doesn't automatically mean your corporation is good for nothing, most of them are victims of alliance leaderships and others are just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
You need to start somewhere, an corporation success don't depend only on them as an alliance holding space needs allies to hold it.

Another corp left Goodfellas today, they've been yoyoing around since they came back a few months ago. Dark Taboo continues to trend down, populationwise, as an additional corp leaves it. They are actually slightly rebounding in corp numbers though as newer, smaller groups join. Ka-tet has officially been disbanded as the last three alt corps leave it. One of R.U.R.'s three corps has left it. Rytiri Lva, the executor corp, is down to only 15 members, a sad state for one of the game's more famous ganking groups. Another group has left Scorched Earth, giving them a membership of 1987. The Volition Cult, one of the more long running small, unimportant alliances has been steadily gaining members over the past month and are up to 300+, currently.

Then of course no one bothered camping anything (lol goons) so Tri just switched to mass logistics + loldrakes.

TRI isn't as predictable as all that, we've had intel on what they're supposed to be bringing to various fights in the past, but, seems their fc's and fleet members can change fleet compositions on a moments notice.. Makes me wonder how many races of ships each fleet member can actually fly .. Oh and never T1 loot from them either ... 100M sp in Gunnery and Missile launchers diverse? =P

I'd like to thank again all of the pilots who showed up in force for this OP. We showed Atlas that we can be counted on when needed even if the time is not convenient. I know some of you were shocked that we didn't shoot anything but this OPs main goal was to show commitment to support Atlas. Bobby mentioned that once more pressing matters are addressed 3-L will be dealt with so have patience. Don't give the reds in local easy kills and have your ships ready and spread out around our home systems. You might want to get used to logging off at POSes as well incase things get messy and stations get camped.

Nobody said they were on the verge of a fail cascade, merely that their roamers are generally pretty bad.

The fail cascade comes later, when they try to exert control outside of NPC space.
