I'm pretty much an ownzone sniper, ~80% of the playtime I've got logged is in recon. Despite loving to use the AA guns which fire about a billion bullets per minute, I've still got ~20% accuracy.
Headshots are also very satisfying in BF3. Longest so far is about 500 meters.

BF3 is miles better than BC2. Although snipers are somewhat underpowered but that means most people use fun classes that actually move around and attack rather than playing fucking wookies sitting in a bush.

I try to be a sniper, but its not as fun as BC2 sniping. I have made some pretty amazing extreme long range shots, even though its much more difficult than it was in BC2.

Fuck sniping, go brawling with a SV98, no scope and the bolt add-on.

At least MW3 will use Steam and its server browser and thus will not be a sack of utter tripe in that regard... But the more I think about it and consider my funds, the more sure I am that I can't really be assed to play any of these hypermacho seriousface shooters when some OTT satirical ridiculous manshoots are all coming out soon (Saints Row the Third and Serious Sam 3: BFE chief among them).
All the Saints Row previews have been fucking hilarious. Giant purple dildo bats, VTOL jets with microwave lasers, and of course "Professor Genki's Super Ballistic Manapult" which allows you to suck up pedestrians and fire them like human cannonballs. Or you can fire yourself with it and parachute-land. There's also coop (though I don't know if it's online — shit's kinda vague).

I wasn't a big fan myself but how the hell can someone claim SR 2 was awesome and GTA was boring when they are exactly the same, just one was much higher quality graphics/engine/detail/story/soundtrack ( it wasn't SR 2 )

The problem herein is that most of PL's best players are retired, and not actually in PL anymore (thats what our OG mumble group was created for), so that rules out certain luminaries. Are you kidding? SR2 had tons of whacky side missions, crazy shit to do and a completely over the top fun atmosphere while GTA4 went all po-faced "fuck games, I wish we were making a movie" serious. Rockstar were going in the right direction with San Andres but then decided the sandbox was secondary to a shitty storyline and bowling. This worked in Red Dead Redemption but not really in GTA.
I'm really looking forward to SR3 but GTA5 can DIAF. Might download it after rave reviews I guess.
SR2 was pretty much about putting as much balls to the wall insanity as they could into one game at the time, and SR3 looks like it might top that. JC2 worked for pretty much the same reasons. They also both made you something you don't really get in video games often, which is a borderline super villain where you actually feel like you're making life horrible for large portions of the game's population just by running around town and existing. JC2 to a much larger extent obviously.
But yeah, Yahtzee's review was pretty spot on and if you don't like that then
