So how long til the Jitabears start calling for Tier 3 (or arty) nerfs, or has it already started?

No, it's all about the numbers you see. Burn Jita made a lot of people cry, it's true, but the sheer vastness of the high sec horde makes the number of people hit tiny in percentage terms. Try hanging about Jita at peak time sometime this week. 74 freighters seems like a lot until you spot that about 10 are undocking every minute now that you've left.
lol For starters, I was never there. It's cute you think I must be in DekCo because I think the Burn Jita event was successful.
Sure, I'll cede not EVERY SINGLE high-sec pubbie may have cried this weekend if that's what your point is, but a gigantic portion did. That alone is enough for a declaration ofpsuccess: for DekCo, no reason to try and belittle it. Doing so is basically like someone saying "Hey man, nobody actually cares you robbed that line of banks. You know how much money there is in the world, man?"

I'm not saying it wasn't a success. But I pretty underwhelmed with the lack of forum spam and general tear generation. I think I'm just getting bitter in my old age.
It's funny really: the whole idea was to "test" ccp and fight back against the perception of growing carebearism among eve players, the expected result of which should be a torrent of forum tears. It was, however, generally well-accepted among the average eve player, beyond the vocal few forum sockpuppets. So, in the end, it achieved its ultimate goal of scoring a point for a harsh game in the constant tension between a harsh sandbox and a soft theme park, but denied us the spoils of a less successful yet more entertaining failure.
Edit: like a lot of these similar tensions and culture wars, it gets to the point where you'd rather keep fighting just to inflict harm on your perceived enemies than actually win, and then lose that sense of purpose and identity the fighting gave you.
At the end of the day, what the fuck else were we going to do? Fucking with Jita is a great way to kill a weekend with some content people will talk about.
Yeah, sorry, I was conflating you with 74 freighters! guy.
You're still underestimating the number of people that didn't care or actively enjoyed watching ships get blown up. How many ships got suicided? A few hundred? A few thousand? Bear in mind that EVE has a few hundred thousand subscriptions and the vast majority never leave high sec.
C'mon. Everybody had fun except those few freighter pilots. It's a huge win-win for everyone involved.
Any player run event that generates tears, war decs and counter attacks is WIN. If 74 freighter pilots refuse to stay the least bit informed of whats going on in the game (including on log-in) then DIAF.
I agree with those who say it should be random, unannounced and at any one of the trade hubs.
Goons are fucking fun to shoot but in this instance, I laughed my ass off watching freighters burn. The Goonies created content for little 'ole me
**High Five**
At the very least Burn Jita was a giant isk sink.
If you kill enough of them they stop fighting - Gen. Curtis Lemay
Fear the KKM
74 freighters plus some that had yummy cargo plus other ships that died in the Jita fires. Depends on what one considers a large isk sink but something well north of 200b isk up in flames to me seems like a reasonable isk sink for a player sponsored event.
I didn't realise penifsmash wrote for French newspapers! The offensive is only virtual, but its scale is chilling. Fourteen thousand ships launched on a rich metropolis in a collective suicide attack. Police forces in disarray
pretty sure it's all just asset sinks, not isk sinks.
Am I right ? All assets was bought by isk, but those isk made it into other player wallets so they are still ingame. right ?
Once the assets were destroyed, the "currency" that is the asset is effectively removed from the game, so it is a sink.

Grim was trolling you, hth.
A bad troll that is wrong, or the person that narcs on him because he doesn't understand simple maths?
Obviously the narc tbh
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
You're all worse.
It's over already?
Not really, we still have a 1000+ tornados sitting in Jita waiting for Mittens to get bored.
the best part of the burn jita event was seeing 2 PL jumpfreighters die.
I too carry 20k of isotopes in my JF during burn jita.
No PL JFs died, faglord.
A BDCI one and an EMO. one did
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Wasn't there one? I forget the name but it was one of the lesser known corps.
I guess you're a dumb shit niggerlord and don't understand implied context:
Wasn't there one? I forget the name but it was one of the lesser known corps, that weren't BDCI or EMO.
grogoths just mad about them jf's
hes like a little grath but he tries to hard.
I must have misread one, it was just the BDCI and EMO. kills (awful corp names by the way)
You've got some apologising to do, young man.

If I forget thee, O Goonfleet dot com, let my right hand forget her typing.
About what, thinking PL actually lost a JF or saying Resilliencedot is a bad corp name![]()
Don't dis the dot.
so much :madposting: going on here. what happened to pandemicCHILLBROlegion?
So is there a total of isk killed? What was done with the loot that dropped, mad rush by randos or retrieved/blown up aswell?
Isk dmg done doesnt matter when it was a failure, according to my highsec sources goons werent able to bring jita to its knees and forever make it a wasteland
Goons can ruin the game forever and be irrelevant all at the same time. It's amazing really.
Crying that goons are irrelevant is the pinnacle of pubbie bleating
