DAT SLOPE MAKES ME SO HAPPY IN THE PANTS
I just read the last 4 pages and all I gathered was goons validating standing down because they were unable to engage a superior enemy. Did I miss anything?
ok thanks for your opinion, guy with anime avatar
As a rare serious post, I think Raiden have played this about as perfectly as it could be played. Faced with an inevitable invasion from an overwhelming force, they have continued to provide fun content for their members from the start of the Branch invasion until now, especially maintaining those crucial consistent supercap numbers. They supported their allies even after those allies proved they were long past the point where failing allies have historically been abandoned to their deserved fate. They called in new allies, and/or mercs, and/or pets, treated them well, and are giving them tech moons. Finally, instead of waiting for the inevitable 1500 man fleets, they took the battle right to Goons and co while they were still burntout from grinding and then securing Branch.
Barring any major shifts in the balance of power, which are perfectly plausible in Eve of course, I still think Raiden will lose Tenal and Vale. However, they will obviously not fail internally and will continue to provide top quality content to their members the entire time. I'm sure that if they lose, they will quickly establish themselves elsewhere and continue to be a major power on the game board.
As someone who enjoys watching Eve happen more than even playing the game (and especially posting about it), I think it's great that there is another solid major power in the game. The more active and content-creating powers in nullsec, the more dynamic and exciting it is for everyone. I'm glad the leaders of Raiden had the balls to step up and save what they could from IT alliance instead of just letting everything fall to apathetic bureaucrats who don't even play Eve yet can never let go of their marginal spaceship power.
Well NC. did promise to help Raiden if they got into trouble.
Still waiting to see that happen-you should put it to the test![]()
“Isn't it funny how the mood can be ruined so quickly by just one busted condom”
I suppose it wasn't exactly tested today... but they were certainly there, waiting for the fight. Drakes at the sun, proclaiming their leet status.
Next time I fly all the way to venal, to bomber-whore on a big fight, I would really appreciate it if both teams would keep their nuts and engage.
Let me tell you about surströmming.
Try to bring that into the US and customs will send you to Camp X-ray for trying to smuggle bio hazardous materials into the country. Of course in practice the plane would probably crash halfway across the atlantic because the smell burned a hole in the fuselage.
you should be used to me calling a blueballs whenever there's an enemy surge, i do it in every bob war since mid-2006. fix joke goes here
elite pvp hates it, see this thread and the inevitable replies to this post. never fight when your enemy wants a fight, ~sun tzu~, blah blah

What happened tothe collective did they agree to merge into someone or did the move to WN really kill the corp. Which is kind of ironic considering they where in -A- for so long and didn't die and moved to WN and in less then 5 months the corp is on deaths door
In the past BS fleets have been countered by sniperHAC, AHAC and Drakefleet doctrines, to name but three, and massed BS fleets are still vulnerable to bombing tactics. There has never been a fleet doctrine that allowed massed titans to be countered by smaller numbers. Even now when these doctrines are not considered the easy counter to BS fleets that they were, the level of imbalance isn't within an order of magnitude of that seen with Titan fleets. 200 Drakes or AHACs can take on 100 BS with a reasonable expecation of winning or at least causing worthwhile losses, so if you have a group who don't have the ISK and SP to fly fleet BS, Drakes are still a viable option providing you can bring more people. In the future we can also expect to see new doctrines evolve that will counter BS, like Tornadoes & Nagas being used a super-SnipeHACs or some such. 200 BS would die to 100 Titans before the FC could call an align point, and there is no equivalent of stealth bombers vs Titans.
Finally, whilst it's quite a lot to ask a player to be able to train and field a battleship in order to participate in fleet battles, it's a fuck of a lot less than it is to expect them to fly & bring a supercapital. It's like having F1 racing as your School's sport.
'
You clearly went to a poor school..lol.
Also I dont think you can balance eve around people not beeing able to field battleship (or something similar)
Its like saying....HELLO there why cant we kill the american army with our AKs and rpgs (when they bring hangarships and tanks and 1billion airplaines)
How are we supposed to beat them...when we cant afford anything bigger?(or dont wanna field it beeing afraid of loosing it).
You can either roll over, or play taliban planting IED and harrash.
If you cant beat your enemy in open combat(agains supers)...learn from goons and hotdrop singel supers(doing stupid things or simply returning to their home systems) with 200 whelp hurricanes/tempests. Repeat that several times and you have now on top of killing several supercaps, made half the enemy supercap fleet unwilling to log in.

Quoting Sun Tzu and relate it to internet spaceships game, win.
Let's play a game. Let's have Goonswarm blue up with -RDN- and NC, and sit in system with 200 supercaps and then we'll see if PL is "afraid to fight" them!
Actually let's not play that game because I already know who would win -- PL isn't jumping into that unless Shamis is online, in which case they lose double digits of titans and everyone laughs at them for another year.
The above analysis has little to do with "being mad" or "being afraid to fight", no matter what bad Swedish trolls named Jogyn or bad bitter ex-goon trolls named penifSMASH say about it. So can your bullshit.
I am glad to see that you are still a brother in the fellowship of "it shouldn't take 2 years of training or 500 hours of poopsocking to compete in EVE's endgame" posters. Lots of people fly with the titan blob on their side for 5 minutes and suddenly anyone in a supercapital is like the loving parents they never had
If you consider the fact that a titan costs as much as 250 Tier 3 BS's (non-insured) then it is normal in my opinion to not be able to counter those at even numbers like you say. When you are fielding 250xtimes more ISK than your opponent you should have an advantage. If CCP decides to nerf the titans even more in the future, they should at least decrease the cost of building one, cause they will end up being used only for logistics purposes.
tier 3 snipers are already used.Set them up to shoot up to 160km,set an anchor at 140 and orbit it at 20 to avoide bombs. In small fights i would say tornadoes are the best but in lag-tidi i switched from slow rof tornadoes to oracles>railboats and with 25 of these you pretty much nuke anything from a Mael doctrine from 140 km with 2 max 3 tachyon cycles if something was getting reps.
There are many disadvantages like bomb runs or how you keep the enemy tackled, but if a fight is going the way you want it with tier 3s you can do decent damage with little cost. Its more efficient than flying ac canes and getting nuked anyway.
The next logical step is for CCP to introduce a new ship that costs a trillion isk so that someone in PL can single-handedly destroy 15+ alphafleets.
Furthermore, by that logic I should just be able to lay down 6 trillion ISK and have CCP annihilate 100 or so titans for me each time I jump into a new system. There is a reason that kind of feature isn't in the game though.
The whole discussion just illustrates how persistently broken EVE is, at both the supercapital-endgame-combat level and at the income-and-economy-fucked-up-by-botting level.
ps jm24 stop trolling it is annoying

Apart from the fact that a deimos actually costs 24xtimes a thorax (just the hulls) and 6xtimes the thorax (with a decent t2 fitting in both ships), I agree with you that the amount of ISK fielding on its own does not mean anything.
If you notice my previous post better, I am commenting on even number engagement of Titans vs BS's. It is plainly insane to say that it is an imbalance if 250 BS cannot counter 250 (or even 50) titans cause the ISK difference your opponent is commiting is just humongous.
i have kugu for that, after all
edit: fuck you tgr you ruin everything that is good
