Bat Country and the GIA feel that it is wrong that the Wormhole community are deprived of the insight that comes with intel. So, courtesy of a member who is not so much disgruntled as gossipy, is a Narwhal communique regarding them taking a contract then only five people showing up:

DUCKS! AAR so far: Our response time was good and we managed to chase the camp out through the hs hole (netting a BC kill the process)! The following 2-3 hours was tedious due to the hostiles playing dead / pretending they weren't here and as such the decision was made to disband the fleet. Shortly after the fleet disbanded one of their scouts managed to slip through into the high sec and from the intel that has trickled through we now have reason to believe that a rival merc alliance has been hired to clear both us and our clients out. Our contract is still in effect until we can either remove all hositles from this hole or the pos is repped. - - - As such we require all available pilots to be ready to form up and head to the target system from 10:00 tomorrow morning. The POS will exit RF almost as soon as DT ends 24/11/2011 - we must be the first on grid to re-establish dominance. Same composition as we had in our earlier fleet would be good, going to need logi, ecm/neuts and dps. Further updates to come. P.S. I'd like to thank everyone who participated earlier today, you demonstrated some awesome disciplines and the teamwork was some of the best I have seen in the last few weeks

Alright folks, We have a contract to defend a large tower in J160311, it comes out of reinforced at approximately 10:40 UTC, or just after downtime. We need to rally a force to defend this tower, or we will fail this contract. There is strong evidence that the agressing force has a battleship fleet with logi, logged off in the wormhole. In addition, we were contacted by a mercenary group saying that they were hired to finish off the wormhole and any defenders, we are being paid to make sure that doesn't happen. We need combat pilots to get here before downtime and log off in the system so we can respond as quickly as possible to the agressing force. We need: Logi > T3/CS/HAC > ECM/Neuts > BS/BC > Hictors Lets kill them all!

Alright folks, Enough of the carebearing, we have a contract. We were hired to defend a tower that is coming out of Reinforced at 11:00 eve time. We just lost control of the system to a coalition of 30+ shit highsec mercs that were hired against us. The five of us that were trying to guard the wormhole to prevent them from getting ships in, were jumped and most of us were either trapped or podded out of the system. We are starting to look like we cannot fight our way out of a wet paper bag. Noir and NCdot just bloodied our nose, and now these high sec "mercs" have managed to kill some of our members and trap us out, we are in danger of failing a contract for the first time ever. These are griefers, as they have been banned from the merc contracts channel for trying to spread a rumor that we double crossed them by accepting this contract, if you are curious about this, I will be happy to share the details. I have already cleared our name and gotten them banned from the contracts channel, in retaliation they have hired a coalition of highsec griefers, and brought Cosa Nostra into the wormhole to fight us. Narwhals has never failed a contract before, and I am not about to let it happen on my watch. This contract is now a CTA. All able combat pilots are expected to attend. Just watched the RnK video for like ... the 5th time?

Can't get over how high the production values are, I'd love to have a sit down with whoever made the video. That and their comms, I'm not sure if other people are being edited out or if they're really all just that chill and confident in each other's abilities during a fight like that.

Ugh. Anyone notice an increase in traffic coming out of C6 holes lately?

Since the patch notes have been going around we've noticed WAY more big, C6 style corps leaking out of K162 holes, either transitory through our system or coming in to see if they can start some shit™.

Yesterday was the crescendo of this scary opera when a K162 opened and quickly poured a box of rape on our mining operation. Jesus Christ. There isn't much of a battle report other than we had our own mini Hulkageddon.

A patch is coming and people are stocking up or selling stuff. So they are more likely to leave hole open and use it for the transit.

Have many of you managed to bring the new T3 BCs (calm, I know they're not Tech 3) into your home (or hostile) WHs? How have you utilized them? I would guess using them for sieging player owned structures (Customs Offices, POS, etc.) is a given, but running sites viable? Much PvP use with them yet?

I bought a Tornado blueprint, printed one out, used it to pretend to do DPS to a customs office.

Haven't used it in combat as the most likely outcome is my death. However, out of the box with shitty projectile skills I'm getting 450 dps? I also get to pretend when I'm zoomed out far enough I'm flying a Nag

edit: I wouldn't really use them in a site for anything as the tank is terribad, why bring a bunch of odd ships to do the work of a Tengu?

Yea, my alt was getting 740 dps using Hail. Definitely a brawler. I have all four BCs between my two toons, but only managed to bring my Tornado in. I tested it against my CN Raven. I have excellent shield and missile skills. Still... Raven lose. My Tornado had less than 20k shields, but it's sig radius and velocity made it a nice speed tanker. I think their lack of drone bays make them a poor choice for Sleeper sites, though. I can't want to test them all out. I think they should be purely PvP, anyway.

The cheap(er) hull of a tier 3 BC is much more appealing than a BS, HAC, or T3. Still, though... the tank is way too thin. Despite it all, I would never run noms with them. Best for PvP only, indeed. I'd have to try a suicide gank in one. They look hilariously fun! How have you fit your new BC? And is the Talos worth shield "tanking" or is that LOOOOOOOOOOOL? The fact that they go reinforced for 24 hours kind of makes it a bad proposition. You would have to convince your fleet to stick around for a whole day, inside a hostile wormhole, to blow up something that rendered you no value at all once done.

Wormhole customs offices will be the target of pot-shots, not much else, unless an invading force needs to wipe someone out.

You make it sound like thats an achievement.

I would prefer Oracles for shooting structures. You actually get a bit more dmg with Conflag then you get with Hail (1083 vs 1038, 4 dmg mods). You also don't suffer from damage reduction through falloff when shooting a Large Pos. (774 DPS with Scorch at 45km default).

In the end the difference isn't huge anyway and its probably an Shield vs Armor thing if its just about shooting inanimate objects. No idea how the other 2 new BC's would fare

Our alliance just finished attacking an enemy POS with 9 battleships and a half a dozen new Tier 3's.

Then, during RF, we ransomed the defenders for their five capitals ships and used their Phoenix to bring down their own tower.

Best part: this was all done in a C1.

(I'll get killmail posted when I can, but at the moment our killboard isn't accepting the new Crucible types, and many EVE killmails are showing only the player with the finishing blow.)

A guy in my corp took a rail Naga out last night with our plexing fleet. Apparently it did decent, but it wasn't primaried by a full sleeper spawn so we dont know how its tank will handle things.

They do the same Damage as an Tier3 BS when gankfitted. (They have the same Damage boni).
Except the Naga, which can't fit 4 Damage mods (and like the Rokh doesn't get a Damage bonus)

Edit: I was mistaken, the Naga actually gets a Damage Bonus, its still the worst of the Bunch imo

I'm sure there are better fits possible, but that fit has 28k Armor EHP without fleet boosts (40k with T2 links), 730DPS with Scorch.

Its probably a good idea to fit Tracking Comps in the Free mids, but its cap stable with perfect skills so your pretty much free to adjust mids to the circumstances.

I don't know how much the Sig size combined with the speed from the AB would reduce incoming damage, but i guess thats good enough to take down any non-gunned POS, or maybe even gunned ones.

The ransom was that they could leave the wormhole, unmolested, with about a bil in ISK worth of ships and assets. We still keep the system; we never leave that open for negotiation.
