The whole "angry FC" thing is something thats hard to put into words. But there is definitly a 'good' angry and a 'bad' angry. No-one minds a little venting when something truly retarded happens, and if someone (or in some cases the whole fleet) fails abysmally at what should be a routine task (aligning, not jumping, not bubbling your own fleet as bombers land, the usual culprits), there is nothing wrong with the FC having a bit of a shout. And in many cases, the FC has to give the idiots a bit of grief, both to make them think and tighten up their game, and to voice the unsaid frustration the 'correctly acting' members of his fleet will be feeling towards the failures.
But there is a time and a place, and angry shouting can't be the default response to everything that goes wrong. I think where there is truly a distinction, is that the FC should never be shouting at guys who have done everything right. If your fleet has done everything right, done everything they possibly could have done in the situation (barring through being able to see the future), but shit luck, or just a well played move by the other side has landed you in the dumpster, thats when a FC shouting is wrong. Very wrong. If you feel you did everything you possibly could, but have lost your ship anyway, and the FC is balling you out for 'fucking up', when you truly didn't, thats going to build resentment. Even more so if it was the FC's choice or action (rightly or wrongly, the move might have been a good one under any other set of circumstances) that you feel your being blamed for.
Now, I haven't been listening to all these soundclouds, so I can't judge myself (I can read forums on the sly at work, not listen to recordings!), but i think thats where people are making the distinction.
Usually the nerdrage, and its mostly fake rage to look edgy anyways, gets in the way of the actual fcing and as such, is retarded.
Criticism is rarely received well by anyone, even if you are provably in the wrong and are being a colossal retard, getting called out and told you're an idiot is still going to breed resentment, especially if someone does it in front of the rest of the fleet. We humans are proud and irrational animals.
If you get shit on you're not going to become a better player, you'll just keep your head down in future. You'll stop volunteering to fly that dictor and instead you'll stay with the herd, you'll ungroup your guns to whore on mails instead of shooting the primary, that is if you turn up to fleets at all.
The best leaders are those who never criticise others and instead only praise positive actions.
But the question is, why do you care? I mean when it comes to fleets, people would rather Maka FCs than anyone else. More people join his fleets than anyone elses. The emo is what it is, no one cares, no logis are buying him a new Tengu, or any of the other shit.
Are you trying to say that it's his personality that makes you join his fleets? No. You join his fleets because he's the only one you can trust to maybe not welp your shiny un-reimbursed Tengus. Now your one trusted FC just joined the supercap welp club and probably won't be logging in for a week or two at best. The RED PEN CTA Cobra2k called last night couldn't even get bonus ships or logi, Cobra2k himself didn't even turn up to it, and ~30 Tengus ended up getting welped... But it's okay because we don't take Makalu's emo rage seriously ^.^
I don't care about his emo rage as it's entertaining to listen to, but you should care because maybe if you didn't shit on people for making mistakes and enforce discipline through fear of on-the-spot fines, you'd have more people willing to step up and you wouldn't have to rely a sole FC to fly your sole fleet doctrine for you.
Well you are wrong.
Can link more from other FC's if you want![]()
Heh, you're right. I didn't realize both of them were in LFA at the time (the early '10 Provi war).
And nobody really minds anger or passion in general in an FC, but like it's been said, there's context. Your normal scrub can tell when an FC is getting angry in a determined/focused/productive kind of way versus when he's getting upset in a panicked desperation kind of way, and all the recordings we've seen show Makalu falling into the latter category.
Kudos for the song, btw.
:doublepost: for a change of subject.
The shell of Viking Empire dropped sov in H74, leaving the station vulnerable, which Pangu Coalition took advantage of. They killed 1 TEST TCU while it was onlining and flipped the station over to themselves and tried to online one of their own TCUs, which was promptly killed.
They then attemped to online three TCUs within the space of an hour (wtf?), all of which were killed by PL supers. Sov's currently neutral and the station is back under TEST control.
They also dropped sov in 60M but that seemed to be uneventful and TEST onlined a TCU successfully. Station is still under Viking control but I imagine it'll be transferred via corp eventually.
I don't think anyone's denying that they're edited and selected for the juciest cuts, but, the fact that there's so many poor examples of his behavior to be had leads one to the conclusion that what we're hearing is the rule, not the exception.
Jafit: Managed to finish Xystence's terrible sig, I'm sorry in advance to everyone else on the forums.Cinomed Fostergut: I just had to say, Xystance has the baddest forum sig known to all of EVE, this is what happens when Insanity Wisdom and Talent meet and have a threesome.

Erm Tengus are reimbursed, Makas been logged in plenty since the welp and Cobra sent out a mail about a CTA which said who the FCs would be (hint, it wasn't him, or Maka). Now since you managed to get all that wrong in three sentences, tell me why anyone should listen to any other opinions you might have?
Somebody says it is so, and offers evidence.
Somebody says it isn't so, and offers none. They are then challenged to offer some. They refuse.
No reasonable person is going to believe them, sight unseen, fact unproved, once they've been offered a chance to prove their point and refused point-blank to do so. It doesn't matter how bad the evidence the other side offered is (and this isn't that bad, it's not like they've doctored the recordings, they've just made them a manageable size), once you straight refuse to present any evidence for your position then your crediblity is zero.
So yeah, I do, a lot more than you appear capable of.
What I'd love to see is an un-edited recording of -A- comms matched up with video of the fight. You could always silence the parts of the recording that are sensitive or something.
H74 has so far given some AWESOME fights for the euro guys for a change.
First up was some Pangu Drake gang + some kitchen sink Lee Chanka fleet -- both fleet died and what was left of them limped home over 2 engagements. Lee Chanka then attemped to form a Tengu fleet smack middle of RUS PRIME and got ~ 120 or so in fleet with 60 Tengus. We counter formed ROKHS with about ~120 or so and 10 rifters.
We setup on station, hostiles warped at pussy range (I guess Lee Chanke hasn't gotten the memo on how to fight Rokhs with even numbers yet from the A team FCs) and proceeded to lose 2-3 Recons while killing 5-10 rifters. Now Tengus started to die, while Chanka STILL unaware of the basic Makalu tactics on how to fight Rokhs were trying to snipe duders through firewall @ 120km or so :cripes.
They setup a path to run home, lost another ~4 tengus on the way and peaced out. We killed more pangu TCUs and peaced out too. Chanka has promised to fight in 2h in EURO prime because we *need* to keep the TCUs alive... I mean it's not like we have a 8h stretch of US TZ coming up or anything, but the eastern logic is sometimes hard to follow.
Anyway, outlook is great for some more H74 fun fights!
Have you heard the "super welp" comms ? Or the "maka titan tackled" comms?
Listen then compare with "maka rage over everyone in despair for is own mistakes" posts around here.
Of course he rages, specially when you are acting like a retard in fleet. No he doesn't hold your hand, when you're flying with him. He expects the best from you and of course he will rage when asking someone what is the buble range of it's heavy interdictor when the entire fleet is trying to catch a Capital ship and the guy flying it says he doesn't know!
The war-ravaged systems of H74-B0 and F-NXLQ saw some moderate to large engagements involving two distinct different skirmishes. What started out as a downtime TCU-bash escalated into two battlecruiser battles. Lee ChanKa and his merry men bravely engaged HBC Hurricanes and then Drake reinforcements, but could not hold the field in a decisive victory.
One major note: Wind Spirits of the Pangu Coalition, rather than fight it out and let his vulture die, ejected from his ship.
+1 Vulture for HBC.
SoCo pilots withdrew to 4-0 to reship into tengus; HBC went home to reship into Rokhs. A Third and final scrap led to the HBC edging out SoCo by taking down a half-dozen Tengus while SoCo pilots focused on clearing tackle, kiting damage, and ultimately withdrawing to 4-0. With full battlefield control, the HBC was able to nuke down three Pangu TCUs and reinforce their staging POS in H74-B0.
I had the opportunity to fly three different ships during this flare-up of hostilities, all thoroughly enjoyable fights even if I did leave the first scrap a bit prematurely when my rifter popped early in the engagement.
Good Fight, -a-.

E: And, Uncle Shadoo beat me to it!
Enough with the "un-reimbursed tengu" BS. The alliance provides the hulls and the individual corp provides the subsystems and mods. If individual corps are falling down on those duties, that is certainly possible, but that is contrary to policy. I have personally provided ~ 20B in nano ribbons.
first we lose 4 tengus 2 didn't anhor at all you can hear on that shit which this retard recording 1 die for real and 1 die on traveling back home, we lost 11 drakes 6 logistic 2 hugins 1 hurricane and mine NH 2 3 dictor and some tackle
you lost 16 hurricanes 2 lache 2 oracle 1 harbi 2 nados 1 hugin 1 mael 1 broad 1 onyx 3 dictors multiple tec 1 tec 2 frig hulls
and i go on pusy range because you have 18 hugins extra smart FC
now go out fuck something
take some 40 kilos rock, go on some bridge and jump in deep water
someone with neutral feelings can give battle report you can do what i typed before
