The Tribute Wars: Because of Falcon

As much as it would be a coup for CFC to have diplo'ed up a Solar invasion, i'm pretty sure Solar would have done this anyway. They've tried to take NCdotbro's assets before and failed (in the most recent cycle), and if they're looking at two options from the outcome of this war:

CFC takes another bite and installs someone who they destroyed last time, but is now backed by the all-conquering CFC

-or-

NCdot beats the CFC into submission, takes back Venal and becomes the premiere PVP alliance behind what will surely be a very strong HBC,

-or-

NCdot and CFC fight to stalemate, call a truce, and NC. decide to build morale by invading east.

In none of these scenarios do Solar get to take and keep Geminate and what tech it has once this war is done. So if Solar want Geminate (and surely, they do) then the time is to grab it now, and have time to prepare and be the status quo in Geminate before either side wins.

Solar is a wildcard - they are always a wildcard -, even to the point of they may do absolutely nothing after retaking Geminate.

If CFC takes Tribute, they'll likely install someone who is sturdy and can take pressure. I presume it would be Razor or maybe even FA but it needs to be someone who can take pressure from an invader due to it's location and proximity to highsec.

Current NCDot + Allies don't have much of a shot at beating CFC into submission to the level you are inferring. The numbers just aren't there.

Currently, the best case scenario is a complete stall of CFC's ingress into NCDot's moons (and some possible tack-backs) and a continued stall of CFC's attempts at Sov.

Solar is going to take Geminate, we don't want nor are we defending the Sov there. I've personally asked if we can just go turn off the iHubs n shit around there because I'm tired of the mails but whatev. We do *defend* the tech moons there as they tend to be the best fight-generator and fighting Solar is actually a challenge at near-even numbers - they have their shit down. Yes, we will continue to look for oportunities to drop on them just as any entity that is neutral to the other will look for such opportunities.

To answer the questions about IRC, if SOLAR gets involved on the other side (and we have no indication that they will) IRC will continue fighting against CFC with NC. But continue as we are now, not getting involved in Geminate. We don't shoot blues.

To be perfectly honest, if I take tribute I am going to live in tribute. I do not wish to give it to anyone, not even long time friends in razor. Tribute is literally 1 jump from jita and makes roaming south and in geminate that much easier. At the moment one of the, if not the best region in the game.

We've had a few close calls during this campaign already. Was bound to happen sooner or later, tbh your right we got lucky that it was just dreads instead of a superfleet. As Vince said, it was one pos too many, dbrb guessed right and had the trap in the right place, so dreads died. I think it's fairly likely we'll see a lot more caps welped before this campaign is through.

Dreads are cheap. They don't matter that much. The day we start to lose supercaps matters, as those losses are 100% losses, no insurance, and high morale drop.
