Back before Fanfest last year we had a group assembled called the EVE Security Task Force. That group was tasked with performing actions like the one recently taken against botters. As a matter of fact that group took action the day prior to Fanfest and continued to do so on a twice-monthly or more basis for many many months. The process is designed that way because I don't believe that security is something you unwrap once every 2 months and pat yourself on the back about. What I said a year ago about the subject remains true today in that I believe it to be a continued process. This will be a slow burn and it will be regular.

Oh, but then we'll introduce 35k ore holds on 32kEHP Exhumers, and completely fuck off down the pub about it:

Because in the final analysis, it still costs them time to warp to and from the station. It's still more efficient to drop a can and have a hauler alt pick it up.

If you have to dock to reship into a hauler to grab the 27k m3 can to dock back up and reship into your miner to continue mining, you've wasted 2-3 minutes you could've spent simply flying to station to drop off your 35k m3. It's either one trip to station every 35k m3 or two trips to station every 62 m3 (i.e. 31m3 / trip). Simply doesn't make sense to jetcan mine anymore, at least with a Mackinaw/Retriever.

Then again, I don't need to use algebra to show anybody how dumb solo unbonused mining in a Hulk is these days.

I don't know where you're pulling your information from but a look at something as recent as the latest CSM meeting minutes will show that nobody's gone awol on anything. If you earnestly care about the issue you should realize that threads such as this, even if made with good intentions while being factually inaccurate, do absolutely nothing to further your cause. If that image is genuine and you are indeed concerned then the bot reporting system is how it gets dealt with. Dramatic threads filled with false accusations are not.

That's what hauler alts are for. Keep all your miners actively locked and mining, and let one or two guys in maxed haulers empty the cans. It's not the best plan when solo or dualboxing, but with a fleet it works pretty well. No docking, no reshipping.

I might only be speaking for the miners with more than five neurons firing, but can flipping isn't an issue at all for people with hauler alts. The can is out in space so briefly that a can flipper would have to be on grid in close proximity to the miner for the duration of their mining cycle, in which case the can flipping intent is blatantly obvious.

Can flipping (99% of cases) only works with individual miners who dock up to grab a hauler, and the 35k m3 ore hold on a Mackinaw makes this entirely needless. It probably still works on Hulks, of course.

E: Concrete example, I used to do this with a stealth bomber where I'd wait for the miner to warp to station and swap to a hauler, flip the can, cloak, they'd arrive back on grid and gain aggression, then I'd decloak, point, kill. I think I only killed one mining barge this way but got a lot of haulers and a few shitfit PVP ships when people realized they'd been flipped but wanted to come at me.

Case in point - just look at his response to Raketefrau's thread, the snarky condescension practically oozes out of his post. How dare you raise this issue to light! Next time use the report function so we don't look bad!

Whether or not he's right (he's not) aside, that alone is not an endearing trait in someone who supposedly speaks for his employers when he posts. He isn't the best Dev, and he is a terrible forum moderator - as a terrible forum moderator myself, I know my own.

look I'm not trying to defend his condescending tone or arrogant stance to feedback on eve-o forums but given the endemic nature of large scale botting and CCPs commitment to rooting it, I'd say give the man his time and a fair chance to deliver results.
