And as per my earlier post, the SoCo counter attack now in full force with swagger -- and it looks like SoCo is able to use their ship composition (new ewar tengus are proving rather hard to counter so far, thou efforts continue) to their advantage with HBC only enjoying a moderate numbers advantage (if any).
It'll be real interesting to see how this time the counter attack goes and when, if ever, the defending side is able to turn the tide and try to counter the counter attack. One has to wonder why you dudes didn't use these kinds of forces to defend Progod when they could have added +300 to the mix, but the -A- way is... well... unique.
Deployment fatigue. This year alone -A- has deployed to distant regions what, three times? I lost count. Dudes tend to get really hardcore into LoL when that happens.

So I was gone over the weekend, I even accidentallied my account and had to reapply for skirmish commanders. I logged in and people were screaming in alliance how we stood down from something, how we were getting DDOS'd and how jabber was down. So I convo Fras and say "Yo! I'm like available all night for shit" and he's like "cool", then nothing happens for a bit.
Then Jabber comes back up.
Then we get a broadcast saying we weren't getting DDOS'd, but that people were flooding general@pleaseignore.com and that brought down TEST services.

So after a rousing bout of singing Backstreet Boys and Enrique Iglesias to the bacon bar, Dmitriblacknight X's up to FC drake fleet and I x up to support him. When the ping hits we form fleets, get on the titan, and bridge in. Our primary cyno dies. We wait for a second cyno. A few minutes later we get one and we bridge in. Our orders?
/Round One
~MEATSHIELD DUTY~
Fly behind the slowcats and pull the enemies towards them while hitting targets of opportunity. dmitri would be anchor, I'd be target caller.
So, the first few REAL minutes of the battle (TiDi was only about 30-40% then) we didn't have any targets in range, we kind of just started motoring around, then we saw tengus engage Rokhfleet and we were told to engaaaaage but not get too close and don't leave the station for fucking NOTHING. SO we go, I'm target calling, i'd say one out of every two targets called actually die, we're asked to primary logistics which won't fucking work because they're keeping behind the tengus (like good logistics should) so fuck it, I'm calling huginns > tengus as much as possible. TiDi slows down below 25% and it starts getting retarded.
The thing about time dialation is this... it effects everyone equally. Unlike lag which penalizes first actors (often)-, this penalizes everyone, but it has some unintended consequences. 1) For fleets that are fast (drakefleet w/mwd, tengus w/100mn ab, etc...) can more quickly and finely adjust where they are in battle. It also means 2) Kiting fleets can monitor where they are on the field and micromanage. 3) fleet types that use missile damage no longer can rely on DPS, they must rely on alpha. In this case alphafleet > rokhfleet > else because as long as a fleet member broadcasts for logistics help once he's yellow boxed, logistics will have him locked and repped before the missiles ever get there.
It sucks, it's tough, but it's honest. The problem with drakefleet is you have everyone from newbro mc. newbie that has a drake that does 180dps and hits out to 55k to a veteran missile jockey like me that with a standard permamwd drake with faction scourge ammo will do a touch under 400dps in missle dps alone out to 75k. Alphastrikes in drakefleet require almost a full fleet to break tidi reps. We had about 180 drakes for a while so after 25% tidi hit we had about a 1/3 chance of breaking a tengu/huginn target, but we were still doing an ok job.
... then my client desynched and I stopped anchoring and started flying straight. I kept trying to reanchor, then I fucking tried to turn around, I was still calling targets but I realized the fleet was ACTUALLY about 40k away from me and I was ACTUALLY flying right into the middle of the tengu blob. "Local... um.... you're going to have to call targets, I'm flying into the heart of their fleet and can't do a goddamned thing about it". I pop, I try to suicide, but suicides that normally take two minutes can take 10+ minutes in TiDi. Fuck that shit. I docked, jumpcloned out, and podcloned to 1DH from there, reshipped into another FC drake and got on a titan.
/Round Two
When I left there were about 1100 people in local. While I was waiitng for titan bridge I was asking about what happened over the weekend. Apparently we had lots of fights, timers, and lost the ihub in 49-. (oshi) Not the picture of confidence I was waiting to see but that's ok, that meant -A- had some swagger and was going to fight. Fight they did. I was still listening on dmitri comms and heard his fleet getting primaried by the tengu fleet AND the tornado fleet and heard them losing logistics fast. It wasn't sounding good, but... tha'ts the point. You take the blows so that ROKHfleet doesn't have to.
So I'm waiting.. and waiting. courtjester was doing a good job of organizing things but military directors were so busy coordinating the fight they forgot to actually tell him to jump in. After a couple pointed questions to Fras Siabi I determined we needed to get in ASAP, we had like 150 dudes and dmitri's fleet was down to about 100 and was camping the 40- gate to prevent easy reinforcements from coming in. Apparently our fleets were no longer breaking and their shit was dying at that sage soI had us bridge in, I had us get to the POS, and wait to merge with his fleet. Then his fleet gets bombed on the 4-0 gate. Near complete losses
Then Makalu jumps his titan in. Right as I started merging us with dmitri's fleet.
I frantically start working on getting a warpin with my covops while starting a THIRD fleet so we could work independently of dmitri. Sort dragon is fucking foaming at the mouth telling drakes to get in, I send our dictors in but can't send drakes, 75% of us aren't even in the new fleet yet and tidi's killing our organizational ability. There is nothing warpable within 80k or so of the titan and a MWDing uncloaked covops won't get there fast enough... so I drop probes and start probing.
Except probes apparently aren't working, I don't know if ALL probes weren't working or just mine, but I was getting ZERO results no matter what I filtered for... TEH FUX
Finally a wreck gets generated, I warp my covops to it, and literally SECONDS before I hit the fleet warp button sort dragon says "nevermind". I'm like "BUT I SEE IT ON THE FIELD AND ITS ONLY A HAIR OUT OF BUBBLES" and I confirm with fras not to warp in.
So our little fleet which I've just cobbled into -MY- little fleet has like 12 logistics, a fuckton of drakes, and not so many recons, no fleet bonus ships. But it has bloodthirsty motherfuckers and me to anchor on. I'm finally given the green light to go in and once again meatshield for rokhfleet and give some of our logistics to rokhfleet. fine, fine, I know what we're here for. We warp to a perch on station at range and I realize there's a fucking opportunity here. scimitars are REALLY far off the rest of the fleet, (thanks to Gerard Gendri for pointing that out btw, AND for broadcasting the wreck). I fleet warp us to the wreck, we start targetting AND popping a couple scimitars, they start burning out of range, Tengu fleet starts coming our way, we start firing on them (and popping a couple of tengus and recon), we're not taking too much damage, We hang a loop around the station and start burning at them again.
In the meantime allied cap fleet was jonesing to, they had fully committed to killing makalu's titan except we lost bubbles on him and he got out. However they kept getting bubbled and were vulnerable. The call went out to clear bubbles at all costs. DRAKEFLEET GO.
Tidi at this point was down to 13% making things 7-8 times slower than normal. I considered warping us to a perch then warping us out to them (we were about 130k out) but killing our MWD, warping out, and warping back in when we were around lots of bubbles that may have prevented that... I called for everyone to keep range and just burn with me, so burn we did. Then bombers decloak. Then bombers bomb. -us- We start taking heavy fucking losses, We go from a fleet of about 110 at that time to 80, then 70, then 60, then finally 50. I think we're getting sniped by tornadoes at the same time. We easily lost 50-60 fleet members between the bombing runs we endured on station but our goal was clear. Get to the supercaps, kill all dictors at all costs.
Our remaining logistics consisting of two basilisks and about 5 scimitars (including Gerard in an AB scimi wlloloolol) survive and we have about 30 drakes left (all tackle / dictors dead at this point), so we keep going since this is still a fleet good enough to kill fucking dictors. We slooooooooooooooly burn and pop light tackle targets of opportunity along the way. We make it to the supercaps, kill some dictors, by this time tidi was so bad I'd hit fire and my guns wouldn't fire for 15 seconds at times. Cycling guns down was a two minute endeavour (8-10 seconds x 8 in tidi) But we did the job, caps got out, and -we- had a reinforcement fleet. We're back up to about 130 and we start motoring in.
/Round Three
Tornadoes warp THROUGH us and land 100k away. Normally this would be a problem. Except tornado cycle time is shit, and they're unprobable, meaning they have worse damage and worse tracking, and take longer to lock... and tehy're only 100k away. I'm feeling p. confident after having welped more than half a drake fleet and getting reinforcements, I decide it's my job to get them to fuck off. So we burn towards them , they start aligning out which takes FOR FUCKING EVER. I start to call primaries then say "fuck it", SORT BY DISTANCE, LOCK UP ANY TORNADOES WITHIN RANGE AND FREE FIRE. Tornadoes start to die, they start to fuck off, but I believe we killed at least 10 before they warped off, we motor back into the mix and lock up four targets at a time, we only break one in about 6 targets (including a muninn because fuck that guy) but we're making it harder for their logistics to rep our rokhfleet's primary targets. We're doing -exactly- what we need to do. Never again is drake fleet primary.
We zoom around the field, warp in on tengus at 0 and say "fuck it" and fire. We do what we want and we're doing it well. Doin' it and doin' it and doin' it well.

Fight ends, we're down like 30 bil in the isk efficiency department, but you know what?
Our capital fleets killed almost all hostile SBUs around town while we fight the forces of ~elitepvp~. We did something they never bothered to do, hold a strategically important system.

I think the overall feeling in TEST jabber is that we lost the fight, for sure. But it was encouraging that people x'd up for a fleet, and it was more encouraging that people continued to x up after they died. It's the first time, ever, in our history as an alliance, that we were defending something of ours. For -A- it's happened hundreds of times, it's not a big deal to you. If SoCo can continue to field 250-300 Tengus a fight in deep US tz, we're in for some real shit. I think that was the first time that's happened in the past 2 months. I think it will happen again for the final timer in 49-.
Actually I don't think. We were there fighting side by side with Nulli, RA and all the others but we are not suicidal, we just didn't have the numbers for it. Nulli could have stick around and wait for the dust to settle (CFC leaving), like RA, Pangu, Vera cruz did and then return to the field. But they prefered to leave the area and go north do... errr... nothing.

It sucks to lose your shit, but we're being lead by good people, getting good fights, and we're still taking and holding shit someone else wants.

Well we're at least part of the reason every CFC alliance and their mother got called up north and you're only fighting TEST and PL down south.

Also, I think there has been some misconceptions (lawl Baghdad bob meme) about "victory". When the fight ended it was past 1am ET. When the fight ended, we *had* saved the system, said, "good job" everyone, and went to bed. Except you guys decided you didn't want to sleep at all and stayed up a bit longer to re-RF the station again. So we woke up and we hadn't save the station.
Pretty sure the numbers were fairly even in 49- last night. Yea AAA could've/should've deployed to Delve sooner and with greater numbers/effort but it didn't happen. As long as Nulli is enjoying the North, its all good.
I don't see AAA worrying about taking three regions. WTF they going to do with them? Querious however should be entertaining throughout the fall.
TiDi sucks ass for everyone concerned but I guess that beats nodes crashing and one side getting entirely fucked over by CCP. Too bad there isn't a way for the server code to just shut down effects and shit entirely in a jammed node so the game doesn't go 8x slower than normal.

You really think that we had more fire power and numbers on our side in 49-U fight? Don't know if you heard, but PL dropped 40 SC's on us and had 40 or 50 carriers deployed, don't remember, vs 2 Titans to our side.
Numbers arguments are dumb, but just this once, I'll indulge you:
The brodoc counts each TEST guy that reshipped again, so if you look, you'll see TEST guys on over and over and over which makes the numbers look all pumped up. Sheer numbers wise on the initial jump in, you actually had more people than us by nearly 100, and a far tighter fleet comp than what we're running.
It was a great fight, theres no need to pad it with some bullshit about AAA fighting outnumbered there because you can't read a battle report right.
And as for supers, AAA has quite a few logged off in 49- itself, dont cry because you wouldn't log them in.
Don't forget about the 40 or so supers of yours logged in to the system.

If -A- is going to keep alarm clocking all their Russians like they did last night, of course TEST will be in trouble. But that takes a toll on even the most vodka and shit stained keyboard after the second or third time.
Before the fight started our comms are awesome. Xystance was singing and general karaoke was being had on comms. Aside from that, our comms are rather dull. During form up it's dozens of newbros asking dozens of questions and FC's telling them to shut up and ask in fleet because they're coordinating in command channels. During the fight you might get the occasional, "I'M FUCKING GOING", but that's about as interesting as it gets. It's mostly, "Lock up X, Y, Z in broadcasts. Tell me when locked". "Locked!", "Ok fire in 3, 2, 1, fire." and then it's either, "he's down" or "he got caught" (by reps). And then more targets. Our target callers are typically very calm, its eerie really. Rarely anything close to how animated maka is.
