You seem to be mistaken what "good fights" are. Bringing a doctrine that we can't counter (tengu's are op btw), in a timezone we're weakest at, isn't a good fight.

No one stated it was news they are bad - nor do I feel anyone was tossing around gratuitous smug. We are just reporting on developments, and we are of course happy about those developments since they are moving in our favor. People tend to mistake honest posting for smug on Kugu because well, it's Kugu. Perhaps there was a tad of smug, but I think the THORN posters here are trying to be respectful and honest, Indet above all others.
The ebb and flow, as well as the motives and goals behind sov grabbing are often quite misunderstood. Sov wars are often won and lost long before the first station systems fall and likewise most sov wars have nothing to do with getting "goodfights". Let's be honest, if we wanted "goodfights" we wouldn't have invaded IMP-L space to begin with.
INK on the other hand does toss some challenges our way and it is much appreciated as it breaks up the grind, but it is also no secret you've basically given up on your IMP-L buddies as has Solar. How long will you continue to defend their stations for? The last timer we formed for, there was zero response either from IMP-L or their allies. Without exaggeration, literally 10% of IMP-L's online population at any time are likely to be THORN spies anyway and some of their blues are already preparing to work with us. Why defend them any longer?
And the numbers they pull are not the root of the problem at all. They get crappy numbers because they have an alliance that no one, including their own leadership is the slightest bit willing to fight for. They have 1600 members still and yet they have to advertise for PVP corps on the EVE forums to pull more than two pilots? I've been on the losing sides of a lot of sov fights - so I am not here to kick people when they are down, but either stand up or move out. Either choice ends this fight with more self-respect than this 'let's call in INK and SOLAR in so we can save our iskies' strategy they are employing.
Most of them are merely in the space to milk some isk, and so they cling to it desperately - not because they care about the space, or the efforts of their allies like you - but because they want to suck every last bit of isk and indy out of their sov that they can before the inevitable collapse of their greed driven, bloated alliance. So as Indet mentioned why wouldn't you want fun, competent neighbours instead of that? Trust me, we aren't wild eyed, 'gudfite' obsessed, shoot everything in sight freak-a-zoids. Okay maybe we are freak-a-zoids - but either way, I'll let you draw you own conclusions from here...
Jesus Christ this thread is full of AIDs now. Everyone needs to chill the fuck out.
Thornies: Stop trolling about Imp-L or Gimp-L or whatever the fuck new gimmicky name Lucian James has churned out from his Random Name Generator App. At the end of the day, every alliance carries inherent weaknesses, and tbh the war is far from won.
Tica I understand you are after good fights and I've actually been looking to have a chat with you in game to clear some misconceptions.
We in 401K are inherently bad at trolling. Literally the best we could come up with was naming our forward staging tower in Imp-L space : "Spoiler Alert: BATMAN DIES".
Take that, any of you clever D-scanners out there.
No indeed, we know its not a good fights campaign on your part. Hence why I ignore the people trying to give the impression that it is, good for the recruitment PR I am sure.
IMP-L or SOLAR do not ask us to turn up to defend IMP-L space. Perhaps our motives are unclear we'd rather not pay the bill to hold all of Scalding Pass because its a worthless shithole we will if we have too because the alternative is letting a group made up of historically aggressive, very rich, large sov space holding entities with plenty of supers and titans (Not all of those apply to all of you I am sure, but the core of 401K certainly.) with clear timezone superiority setting up and controlling the defensive timers and sitting within bridge range of us. Because your plan (If you didnt have it already) once you or 401K or whoever in your group controls a station timer you will set it to 0200-0300 and laugh as we cant do anything about it as we are only just bigger than THORN, let alone the combined size of 401K, THORN etc and basically solo and have no ability to fight in two timezones at once.
So what I am trying to say is no, no we do not want you as a neighbor because we dont suffer from le dumb. IMP-L being shit or not has almost zero to do with it. I just dont want to wake up to my stuff in RF every morning and I cant see you guys settling for the worst constellations of sov space in all of EVE.Its nothing personal, just a bit of foresight on our part and our opinion of what this will lead too.
IMP-L being terrible is not really relevant imo, we dont like their continued presence any more than you do. The remaining people online in IMPL who arent your spies, are probably our spies as they dont speak to us because they think we are out to get them... Their probably right
Clearly every alliance has weaknesses. For example, our own lack of supers and EUTZ. People should relax and realize that we, as an alliance, are still wet behind the ears and therefore eager to exploit even modest success on a half-hearted basis against a poorly organized opponent for every ounce of PR possible. We are using the operations in SP to bind our leadership together and forge an identity. You should also recognize that as much as Lucian is an FC/CEO/whatever he is a radio talk show host. He has fun, he makes our game fun, hence THORN is fun. Some don't like it, most love it.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Argus Sorn again.
I actually like this thread because it is probably the only thread on Kugu that is normal and has battlereports from bothsides

and my entry for IMP-L consideration:
Attachment 3178
Hope you will consider my entry and let me know if I win the prize.
The difference between having Thorn/401 in SP or in Curse is miniscule though. If they feel like going reffing one night, it's not a lot more work to jump from LJ- than whatever system they would base from in SP. And I'm fairly sure they are competent enough to setup to make it as easy as possible to get around. Scalding Pass and Wicked Creek will always be targets for harassment due to the proximity to Curse.
I'll do anything for rep.
55 people voted in their poll?
Wish they could get half that many in fleet. )):
In other news, late-night USTZ is getting it's shit pushed in by ProviFags. We kinda want to bring something other than pots and pans, but we know Severance will dock up if they can't roflstomp our ~8 Hurricanes with their Logi, Falcon, and Hictor-supported 20-man Drake gang.
Yeah, because ruptures are totally gonna kill more stuff than hurricanes in any given circumstances.
green thanks to philanthropy
Way to miss the point m8 - Sec is saying use Ruptures because they'll engage them
Omens and Moas would be equally viable choices - you could do a hobo AHAC fleet with Omens - once they kill one of these and see the killmail, they'll want to fight you every time!
EDIT : Speaking of Ruptures, what's your Rupture fit Sec? I've always wondered

So today was fun as we attempted to bridge onto a pair of 401K supers as they cynoed to the POS, but neither the first or second cynos could be bridged too because of something, we arent sure what, and by the time the third was in position they were already too close to the shield. The poor chaps who popped out the shield to assist the supers died for the most part but overall op failure.Didnt want that super tackled anyway.
For the second day in a row over the weekend 401K opts to use bombers to grind out the structures and waiting for us to leave, a good tactic as our patience is fairly short. We kill one SBU while we wait for any of the random 3rd parties in local to decloak and light a cyno to bridge onto us as often happens, alas not today so we take a few token bomber and recon kills as we warp to them repeatedly on the IHUB and their POS and make for the exit. Fortunately yesterday we got a really good fight elsewhere so we aren't too heartbroken by the sudden dry spell.
IMP-L presence to defend their own system was once again nothing. We are working on the assumption that they are saving all their drakes for a single, massive, drake fleet where they will bail our sorry asses out of the fire and make a mockery of all of us.
I can smell the fear in your post.
You should realize that your intervening with our taking of a shit constellation, may lead us to actually want your take your sov, purely out of spite. But as stated before, all but one of your systems in scalding pass are already within jump range of us, infact, from where we live it's much easier to drop on your space than it is IMP-L. So realistically, you can already wake up to your stuff in RF every morning. Just because you're stopping us from taking sov in a shitty constellation or maybe two, doesn't mean we won't come back.
Your foresight is thought through poorly.

Speaking of provifags, we had a run in to them in lowsec few days ago. Someone poked us about a fleet of 40-50 of them hiting pocos with the kitchen sink so we gathered the 8 active dudes from Drunk 'n' Disorderly and Shadow Cartel and we went for it with 1 triage (another one on back up on alt), 1 moros, 1 vindi, 2 prot, 1 phobos, 1 neuting legion and 1 navy domi. We managed to get a p nice half hour fight out of them, they kept coming prolly thrilled that they have 2 caps to kill. We lost a proteus due to bringing in the triage a bit late and a bonus legion due to forgetting about it on a gate, and killed bout 30 of them. A really enjoyable fight :

http://vimeo.com/46472404 (apollogies for the frequency of the word "blap", but any moros pilot will surely relate.
Then on the way back some rude people insisted to tackle our phobos and allthough we told them in local that it's late and we just wanna go home, they forced us to jump all the ensemble on top of them again and get the damn hic out. A few of them might've fell victims to our rush to get to bed.
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14138152
All in all nothing special, but very enjoyable evening.
We tried to go for them when pocos came out of rf too, but they had 130 or so, we decided at the last moment that 15 isn;t enough to go for 130 including 40-50 odd BS, so we pulled a Benny Hill maneuver losing a npoc and ngeddon that were slow to gtfo.
Also, pretty upset that when we finally managed to get 40 duders in fleet to go for INK, was the only time they didn't show up with the 50 tengusOh well ... plenty more timers.
I was sad to see that they caught on to your second attempt and blobbed up. Next time, feel free to invite your friendly neighborhood 401K Muninn fleet.
Except maybe not...
We were really outnumbered on that roam, and target calling was all kinds of meh.
+1 system and 2 more carrier kills. Despite our complete ineffectiveness, IMP-L continue to fall into our evil plans.

Good times, for a monday, thanks IMP-L
IMP-L carriers were spotted repping their jb. A hasty fleet was called up by alpha. It was observed that the carriers were aligned to station and a bubble was stealthily anchored inline. We bridged as far as we could (2 jumps from the carriers) and burned. We were reported in intel 1J out, the carriers warped and landed in the bubble as we entered system.
Carriers + misc support dead, http://thorn.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_re...ll_id=14180103, shortly thereafter the JB was re-incapped by THORN.
Pretty sure that's the second time we've killed a carrier by thermisticles in as many weeks.
edit: sent to imp-l shortly after
I wanted to thank all of you for being so easily predictable, failing at anyhting involving PvP, and just letting us kill you at every turn.
Don't buy into the hype that your leadership is spewing. You are infact losing sov to us everyday. You may not notice it because all your systems are owned by your holding alliance, but it is infact slowly melting away.
Your leadership is actualy comprised of alts that are members or other PvP alliances that are just milking you for isk. Demand Full APIs of your leadership to prove this.
Good BR, Lockout!
It was a shame you got stomped the second time (see Provi thread).
In other news, we took a roaming gang to Catch a few nights ago.
Did not go well...
We're gonna keep having this problem until people decide to stop bringing a bunch of frigate tackle to Muninn fleets. :/
you know muninns are the best frig killers in the game right
no seriously how did you lose that fight
Beat me to it, Senor Sexxico.
401k & Co. doesn't have too many stellar FC's. The fights we've outright won have been against IMPERIAL-LEGION, and those were FC'ed by alphastar (THORN) and Zeroniss (Shiva). Surprisingly, though, Tounsi FC's most of our ops (shoot structure, try to engage newly-bridged Tengus, lose stuff, warp off) and Lucian leads roams every Friday and Sunday (40 Muninns ganking 3 Battlecruisers, what do?).
I'd rather lose with Tounsi than listen to Alpha though. hohoho

IMP-L holds the station in HJ-.
We did a bunch of bombing runs, but everyone (me included) is really bad at aligning towards the target before bombing...
lol
So yeah, we (THORN) formed 20-25 guys in tier 3s as the timer approached. I'm not sure what 401k intended at that time. IMP-L was spotted with a 30+/- fleet with a few tempests and bcs with 4 logi. Everything looked good at that point - the odds would have favored us even though IMP-L would have the luxury of reshipping in their system.
Then, quelle suprise, we spotted an INK+Co tengu fleet sitting on a titan. 70 tengus, 20+ scimis, recons, etc.
Re-shipped to bombers and bridged in. The IMP-L fleet was hugging the station as half a dozen of the carriers we haven't killed yet rep'd. We watched and waited, took a few pot shots with bombs on the station, and watched 401k bomb in 3 different directions at once(<3 you guys just bustin balls). Then the INK+Co fleet bridged in and we considered leerooooying on the cyno but, INK know to bubble so we demurred. Once INK got settled in they started doing the grunt work of killing SBUs for IMP-L.
Station saved, there was no fight...which is really too bad. We could have had a back and forth slugfest with reshipping by IMP-L and reinforcements from us as the day dragged on into early USTZ. Instead nobody got anything (minus a few IMP-L bc and a logi and a 4 THORN/401k bombers).
Oh, and Tica'Taca smacktalked our 15yr old (alpha) and our :foreveralone: homo darkslaver.
THORN kb for HJ http://thorn.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_re...ll_id=14187410
SBU kills http://kb.eve-401k.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=14187783 (83 tengu and 13 scimi on that)
tl:dr
So long as INK continue (their shortsighted decision) to defend IMP-L...timezone stalemate shall ensue.
I've been trying to recruit Dark for like 2 months now true story.
The Colorblind Angel of Kugutsumen - Turning Bad Country into Mad Country one post a time
In my defense he did complain about timezone warfare, like its our fault your on the wrong side of the pond. Or that reinforcement timers are not a game mechanic.
Not really worth a battlereport. We formed in the hope that there was a plan on your side, because there was no way you would take the station with bombers and no way you would think we would "get bored and leave" like previous timers. Our own numbers took us by surprise and IMPL didnt have enough carriers strangely enough by our math to be entirely sure they could rep it before it was too late for us to cover so we made certain the outcome would be the one we wanted so we went in to kill the SBU's.
When you bridged in bombers we just settled down and watched the bomb runs on us and the station. The bomb run on the tengus was intense 25-30ish (Obviously very difficult for me to count they dont stick around long) bombers opening up on us was pretty sweet to watch, but we didn't think you would have void bombs so there was a bit of an oh shit moment as you did and the second wave decloaked, it was a good run but tanks held out. Not sure whether this bomb run was THORN, 401K or both apologies.
When we started forming, we had other things in mind. Unfortunately our peak number in fleet was 45 in this TZ, and rather hilariously, the first indication we got of your fleet was 70 Tengus 20 odd Scimitars.
Yeah, this wasn't going to go any other way.
Incidentally I hear we were due a visit from a -A- Tengu fleet which had devices on murdering our supers, but I guess they sort of fell wayward en route and got busy.
It's a shame. This system would have marked the end of our Scalding sov push. I guess we'll just have to find a way to keep ourselves entertained in the extra time it will now take![]()
The bomb effects were fun to watch...as well as the missile effects when my bomber got hung up on station. Thought I was diaf'd for sure as it took me a moment to realize why I was moving at about 1/3 speed, etc.

Wild -A- [super] capital fleets aren't a novelty. A couple of days ago one of our guys got about 20 supers to fly into his bubble in ZFJ. Sadly, when we rang the :batphone: we found our service had been disconnected due a payment failure resulting from a lack of funds.
