IRC's flexibility in deploying to a conflict two or three regions away without any of their own assets or sov at stake and repeatedly welping to superior numbers have sort of made them dear to me

Last time they engaged a CFC force with supercaps they got suckerpunched right into the dick (gyro erebus comes to mind), so I don't think there will be any massive supercap battle between the players. CFC will just time their stuff for US prime, and take everything with their now fat and somewhat well experienced supercap fleet. I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't see this supercap killing of yours happening.

In other news today, it looks like the methodical alliance, guests of NC. got sloppy during some outpost strengthening operations.
A station explosion appears to have affected their SBU storeroom scattering their entire stock into open space where they eventually landed in a few Pure Blind systems. The force of the explosion and subsequent lightspeed travel was so powerful that the SBU's on landing somehow self anchored and onlined on every gate of these systems. No TMA personel were reported injured and certainly none were seen when the CFC twilight hours fleet came to shoot them.

The problem with IRC is that any of the good players get fed up and just go over to the warm embrace of Elo and his merry band of munnins, biggest example is Bobbi Atwell, the head of IRC's "military", heading over during the kalevala campaign due to what one could only assume was bureaucratic bs from HC. There are quite a few more examples and i wouldn't be surprised if alot of the legion have a history with IRC. (The issue is with fc talent when elo lead 150 IRC members into glorious battle they were quite victorious)
tl;dr the answer to why they haven't gained any its that the turnover rate on fc's is so great that any progress soon dissapears.
When xix was kicking solar out, irc suddenly got a lot more space in cobalt edge that they had to fill so they recruited any corp that could rat and fill the space regardless of pvp abilities. Then when xix got kicked out, irc got even more space and with the lack of any close by enemies the carebears flourished while the people who actually liked to shoot stuff got bored and either left or stopped playing. Last time I tried to form up a roaming gang in irc I was able to get 10 dudes in fleet after 30 minutes of spamming alliance chat. When things are going well, fleets are full at the drop of a hat, but the moment before stuff starts going wrong people are already logging off when fleets go up.
Yeah, I also get the feeling that IRC is full of dudes who "will" PVP if asked really nicely or if led by a competent FC but also wouldn't mind avoiding it altogether. Still, the fact that there are FCs who will lead such dudes into battle repeatedly and not get discouraged by the results gives me some semblance of faith in humanity.

Bobbi A = good FC, meh....dude he sux balls, only yells at berates everybody in fleets (just b/c he likes to hear himself talk).....Will concur though that most FCs or pvp minded players get tired real quick of IRC HC and their stupid ass politics. I spent 2 years in IRC, God, why I did that I will never know (stupid me). Best case for IRC is to fire their HC, go out and pay for ELO to come in train and/or fly for extend amount of time with small IRC group (15-20) so that they can go back and teach their corp mates. IRC is the BEST meat shield alive in EVE, bar none!

+1 Tech. NCdot tried to bridge into target system but realised that it was unfortunately out of range. They went four jumps through Venal before realising that we'd beat them to it, then turned around to shoot a stray SBU - Vince "no structure shoots" Draken unsurprisingly not sticking true to his word. I'm happy to report that Elo's bombing has improved with the numerical majority of bombs hitting an ENEMY target, but this might've been due to no friendlies on grid.
I think my brain is about to melt. Fucking Aussies don't shut up.
