Then you get inside information about tech rebalancing and the future profitability of the glorious region of Delve, and now fucking this!!?

Delve is actually good space, better than most of the CFC/HBC space anyways, it was only a matter of time before one of us wanted good ratting space. There's not exactly any insider information as of yet, but good future preparation would be to take more space and moons, just in case; Not our fault your leadership doesn't plan ahead.
The titan nerf itself would have come anyways, most of those who actually used it as an I win buttan will admit they did abuse it.

Pretty sure he bought a bunch of thulium or something like that which never ended up increasing in value anyway.

I doubt CCP tells the CSM exactly what they intend to do with a fundamental mechanic like that. However, you can make an educated guess that they will rebalance moon minerals somehow some time in the next year. Furthermore, dysp and prom remain the most likely winners in any rebalance. It doesn't require tinfoil and NDA breaches, just listening to the tidbits that devs drop and using some informed projections.

Precisely. It's just a smart long term move based on the available information. I think it shows how much TEST are really growing up, along with other examples like the TIA expansion, and becoming major players in their own right...which is kind of scary when you think about it, but encouraging for the state of the game as a whole.

You may of missed the bit of my post about inflicting losses where you can but avoiding the set peice battles the enemy seeks.

The tet offensive while achieving much propaganda success almost wiped out the VC after they tried in vein to duke it out with the US army in the city of Hue. (One of places I have visited) the VC never really recovered from that and had to rely more and more on NVA support after that point

This time backed by B-52s along with a multitude of other aircraft and artilery support they destroyed so many of the attackers historians are still arguing over the number of NVA casulties.


So my point is
When an attacker has overwhelming odds its in his interest to seek a descisive battle and the defenders will be stupid to play into their hands.

And which is the part in Vietnam where the enemy could deny you safe haven for a dozen + "regions" (systems) around if you can't beat him in a set-piece battle three times in a matter of days (i.e. on Eve timers)?

In Eve, a routinely superior "set-piece" force can invade your home territories and literally prevent you from being able to live there. A great deal of the effectiveness of the VC was their ability to blend in with a native population where they could use hit and run tactics and pick their spots to attack you. Unless you were willing to completely wipe out the native population, they were going to be almost impossible to defeat. In Eve 0.0, there is no civilian population. Outside of the spies, there is not a way to blend into a region of 0.0 that is being controlled by someone else. And you cannot deny that control if you cannot beat them on timers.

Perhaps one could come up with a strategy involving black ops to try to live in enemy held 0.0 and harrass him for a lengthy period of time, but as long as he has the stations and the ability to jump stuff in, I don't think this type of tactic is really going to "drive him off." Not only that, but in the case of the current conflict we are dealing with an enemy who doesn't even really want the space. He just doesn't want us to have it :-) With his wealth and vast number of systems he hardly needs Delve (or Period Basis, or Querious) to generate funds from. So he can claim sovereignty and then pretty much abandon the territories, although it is more likely some upstart meatshields and renters will move in. If that happens, I'm sure there will be a line somewhere where some of the space can be retaken AAA-style, but that is hardly what any of us would consider "winning." Also, we aren't talking about actual real world blood and lives of friends and loved ones, so actually winning long-term by running away and then taking over when "the enemy goes home," isn't nearly as admirable. As a matter of fact, I would say it comes out very low on the scale of Eve-related admirable activities :-)

You also fail to consider things like American public opinion and its distaste for the Vietnam War as a factor in our withdrawal from that conflict. Also our unwillingness to take any military step necessary, to conceivably put an unlimited amount of casualties upon the enemy in Vietnam. We already put a tremendous amount, but the bombing of the North became limited and it could have conceivably been escalated. We had some self-imposed limitations due to public opinion, international opinion, and some standard of ethics, even though we were willing to impose a great many casualties (I'm not saying we weren't). There are NO such restrictions in Eve. If the enemy could kill every single ship you owned they would be more than happy to do so. The Vietnam equivalent would have been us designing to kill every single Vietnamese, or North Vietnamese, around. That wasn't an option we were okay with for obvious reasons.

There are SO many differences in the factors that go into conflict between the Vietnam War and sovereignty war in Eve that any comparison is just done for entertainment purposes. Give it up or at least address non-military aspects of the American defeat that you are completely overlooking in your posts so far.
