It sounds similar to what could be seen back in old NC. Like going just for the 'objectives'. Sitting on a titan for hours waiting for the 'allies to come'. Travelling several dozens of jumps just to rep some shitty structure, barely getting any KMs on the way. Not engaging without numerical superiority (and getting raped when engaging without it).
If your guys enjoyed being scared of and avoiding a drake fleet regardless of what rationalization somebody came up with to make it sound like a rational thing to do, then I guess more power to you. I know I'd feel pretty terrible though.

OH MAN, WHAT A DAY AND NIGHT OF FAILURE (by me).
I'm gonna go ahead and blame this ever spiraling mess of missing a "GO" mark about 20 times on some weird Venus crossing sun aftermath of bad internets and near misses that resulted in absolutely no fight, thou one might say the ending mess was much more fun for both sides than a brawl would have produced.
So, about 180 -A- Tengus and ~100 NULLI BS were formed up to kill some SBUs somewhere and I wanted to brawl for a bit. Unfortunately -- we had no bomber cover, which made going for Alpha Fleet pretty difficult. So I opted for the good ol' draeks and set work in motion for somehow splitting off NULLI from -A- fleet even for a while to let us get a little bit of a chance to claw some way for a good even fight with our ~180 man draek fleet.
My plan was simple -- bubble -A- Tengus with 3 dictors @ titan for 6 minutes after NULLI bridged their geddons from whatever system they went to. OFC, simple plans never work and in my tired state with the dictor pilot I had a little derp in communication and well.... Everyone bridged from hostile side successfully. My derp was so profound I was unable to speak for about 10 minutes on our comms at what I had just done, so there was some confusion as to why deadly silence for 10min followed my "GET READY GET READY GET READY" battlecall. I somehow recovered and tried to explain, but at that stage it was of course too late.
~280 dudes in system loaded up with 2 fleets that both would make mince out of our drakes alone -- it was a goner. I tried few other angles but fell empthy on ideas, until Michael Bolton III suggested reshipping to AFs and going for a brawl with one of the 2 fleets there. We did this and 15 min later were on titan with ~120 frigates. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts -- NULLI/A fleets just seemed glued to each other at all times. And without a bomber fleet still -- it was pretty impossible to try to drive a wedge between them as well.
So we set out to stalk them instead as they moved system, I failed to light cyno because I had no ozone on my cov ops the first time I picked off about 5 tengus straggling. Derp. Next time Lenid warped to another group and asked me if we should go and I hesitated for 30sec, until they had all warped just as he decloaked in a rapier to tackle. Derp. Third time we caught a geddon, and ACTUALLY MANAGED TO GO IN -- about 1h into the op now. Yaay, geddon down. Now what?
Well, we sat on a gate, killed some straggle and chilled for a while until we got bombed (one bomb launched to a 80 frigates apparently kills a lot...) Now, I had some trouble getting my eyes into the system all the hostiles were still married to each others at, and missed dudes warping to a SBU and ABing to gate and jumping with about 15 tengus 80km off gate as everyone had already cleared off. Another DERP.
I won't continue listing out all of the next 20 derps that also happened that prevented us from starting a brawl and dying gloriously to the geddons while tengus were off them for few minutes. But safe to say, I was ready to jump out the window at the end of it. Luckily -- the work was done, and now NULLI wanted to burn home to bed while -A- was holding tail.
This gave us the opportunity to be real fucking dicks and pay some dividents. What followed was a (and I shit you not) 1 hour journey through 7 gates, since -A- tengu fleet had to align on every gate, warp to 250km perch, align out again, and fleet warp since they now had ~60 frigates chasing them. With tengus crashing on every gate, this took about 10-15min per gate and we managed to kill ~4-5 tengus on route, while getting caught by -A- trap once and losing ~20 AF/Frigs. Another 8 fell to a single bomb while we were MWD approaching the gate.
The trail was rewarded in the end with Makalu's own booster loki getting caught on the final jump ))). But that was before I thought I had decloaked on a gate with 4 straggling tengus and wondered why I couldn't point any of them in my Cheetah. Apparently I had forgotted to decloak.
Lots of laughter and me nearly crying on our comms, little bird told me lots of laughter and RAGE on -A- comms as well.

Kugu angles and propaganda's asside, most people on both sides agree with this. I mean, its hard to say I know when we are pulling in -A- and RA for some of the sov timers, but then again they are final timers just about every time, and I think its safe to say that we can't be blamed too much for not wanting to actually lose the sov that causes so many fights.
