I don't know I sure hope so. I thought one the biggest letdowns of last year's tournament was the 5mans not being recorded.

Too true. The final was terrible.
HAHAHA this is fantastic, its been said a 100's of times already, but yeah joining one corp for 'easier logistics/practicing' probably wasn't the best move, most evidently now.
I don't know limits or boundaries, but others do..so I push em till I get what I desire
It'll be free though right (free to watch that is)
There's no such thing as a free lunch (the surcharge in question is CCP Sunset)
As if money for putting shit up on youtube / streaming is gonna be a major concern for CCP.

Especially if by ISK he meant money. 1329 PLEX @ $17.50/PLEX = $23,257.50 generated for CCP to put towards the tournament. Hopefully the community sees the influence of those funds instead of Hilmar's wallet.Originally Posted by CCP Soundwave

Feedback from Alliance Tournament IX highlighted that players were unhappy that the qualifying rounds were not streamed so this year we are streaming every match. The first two weekends, which are the six man qualifying rounds, will be broadcast with commentary provided by kil2, Raivi, Michael Bolton III, Zastrow and Lazarus Telraven.
Prizes
So down to the nitty gritty of why everyone is here – the prizes. This year the tournament is sponsored by the Caldari State who has spared no expense in creating two extremely powerful and versatile ships in their class. These ships will be based on the Osprey and Merlin hulls.
The Osprey hull is Etana. The name is drawn from the same branch of mythology as the Gallente Ishtar and the AT8 Utu, and has a nice connotation with some ancient Caldari-Gallente history involving Caldari Prime. This variant, which is the first prize, is a pioneering logistics ship with the added capacity to fit a covert ops cloak along with some very powerful skill bonuses.
The Merlin hull is Cambion. The name comes from a half-demonic entity which ties in nicely in with the description of a crazy, fiery rocket brawler with mad overheating bonuses plus it's believed that the Merlin of wizard fame was either a cambion or descended from one.
Design on graphics and bonuses for both of these ships are ongoing and may be subject to change. CCP Soundwave and the Alliance Tournament team will bring you full details on the ships during the live broadcast.
That is all from us here on the Alliance Tournament team and we look forward to bringing you all the action from AT X in the coming weeks.

A cloaking logistics. Goddamn.
Anyway, Gorgon Empire are dudes to watch out for. No troll. I know it's all hipster and shit to say that DarkSide, PL, Hydra and 0utbreak are the only good teams, but the shit isn't true.

ROFL who made these brackets?
Someone with a good sense of humor
Their current CEO White Don is former CEO of Brotherhood. (executor corp of Death or Glory, a well known Curse entity in 2011) which used to be amazing at 5-6man guerilla style pvp.
Mex388 was CEO of Darkside for a short time in 2010, before leaving and forming his own corp/alliance to try out sov (remember Solipse.?). He is kinda controversial and his posting on eve-ru is not really to my liking, but he is for sure a capable roaming FC.
His corp was also a major force in Death or Glory.
Generally -GE- have a lot of very capable pvpers including some former DS members with varying levels of mediocre/improving corps also in there (former BSoD/former XIX).
Example of them dumpstering NC. bling nanofleet:

vs. INIT.

farming the shit out of random scrublords over a russian lolRP alliance's sov

getting outplayed by us (nagas 2stronk)

Also no idea why you guys think DarkSide will be particularly strong this year. We do put ~some~ effort in, but Creamster and Max (+ a lot of oldfags who participated last year) left for LoL and probably wont be coming back.
So as per @EVEonline twitter:
AT VI will broadcast at 12:00 UTC throughoutthe weekend at own3d.tv/CCPGames as we ramp up to AT X on June 30.#eveonline #tweetfleet

Just saying that they know about the game etc. so their theorycrafted setups probably wont be completely awful.
Necro-ing this thread to say that neither Elo or myself will be participating in the alliance tourny this weekend do to it being the greatest holiday of the year - Canada Day. I shall be participating in another tournament - beerpong baseball instead. We have the second nicest person in Eve leading our team though which a bunch of mad micro Asians to support him, so I expect great things to come to pass.

So bet on you guys is what you're implying? I already threw 250 on PL beating Dystopia (Sorry Tyrrax)
200 quatloos on the newcomer
What is up with this terribru music!?!
The music isn't too awful, its the soundclips from Soundwave that makes me cry and die inside.
God damn why do they have to show Raivi and Laz in the bottom left corner? That furious switching between the cams is making me feel dizzy![]()
I like the webcam feature tbh, mostly because I'm used to such video calls.
The music however, jesus, needs work.
Also, really glad I missed the betting window for RA <.<, who is R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.?
REVOLUTION are a russian lowsec alliance, living in Hysera (The Citadel) I believe.
They're not too terrible, somewhat decent even. And they're certainly a lot of fun to fight, as they seem to have a healthy dose of that russian give-no-fucks mentality.
Sup bitches
5 bets placed 4 won. Second last match cost me.
been trying to kill their supers for agees. or was it only for fun. cant recall, basicly its 2 different russian living in 1 system, both is usually alts of the more known russian alliances (I would assume since I ofteen see major russian alliance (red alliance, white noise ect) "main" chars down there camping with them now and them).
Both sides got supers, and both sides try to kill eacother towers, like constantly. you will find 1-2 dread loss a week down there. those supers are elusive as fuck...Ive lost count on how many times Ive tryed to bait and kill them. also seen them heard them survive backstab attempt in some fw brawls
If they are half as good with sub caps as they are at slipping away with supers they are p good.

Being good on TQ doesn't translate into being good in the tournament, so tournament experience is a far better indicator than who is good at Eve. It's an interesting dynamic that allows groups like Solar Fleet to take an absolute dogshit setup and fly it into the ground year after year, while having Dead Terrorists win convincingly.
True, I have raped history, but it has produced some beautiful offspring
Most importantly RvB cant whine about the other side overshipping in the tournament, I guess thats why theyre good.
You only need 12 good dudes to do well after all. The rest of your alliance can be complete dogshit.
DT team is pretty much the same it was years ago, myself Larf, Joder etc. included, so while I doubt you'll see us in the finals we probably have more experience at playing ATs than most teams.
This is what I get for not believin'
NEVER NOT BET ON PL
