I was referring to Vik's statement that the game is stagnant. But since you brought it up.

How can PL be stagnant? We've got a constant influx of baddies, we're literally shitting spacegold and we're spending it on ridiculous things like reimbursement.

I think OTEC is a brilliant move by people who want the game fixed, although the current -A- et at attacks on the moons are throwing a bit of a wrench into the works.

OTEC as a price fixing consortium is able to essentially fulfill the old EVE image meme of Nullsec being the mafia. By fixing the prices on Tech as a group, they are able to force everyone to pay a premium on T2 – even OTEC members who shop Jita, since it's still probably cheaper than the local market hub. By price-fixing tech they throw the stupidity of the current T2 production cycle in the face of CCP, and by causing price increases for everyone, they bring awareness of the imbalance of Tech to those who try and pretend nullsec doesn't exist except to provide Officer mods for their PvE ships. It may even push CCP into changing the T2 production cycle sooner than they want to with all the tears that will start to flow as T2 prices go up.

The wrench in this is the attacks on the "smaller" OTEC member moons. CCP wants there to be battles over resources (the excuse for not nerfing Tech again and again), and this action supports their position. By attacking the Tech moons (and following through with the actual fights to take them) this actually gives CCP the opportunity to continue doing nothing. Finally, it may actually be in OTECs interest (in the long run) to lose a few of these moons giving CCP even more opportunity to say "see, it's working fine!" and continue to do nothing to fix the Tech 2 bottlenecks, and the stupid amount of ISK Technetium brings will continue unabated

If you read the posts, you'll see that it's actually not crying but calling people out on doing a complete 180 on their position on things.
