What is your most embarrassing moment in the video game about space boats, Eve Online?

I'll start.

I was in M. Corp back when they were in Mostly Harmless for the second time (at this point all the decent PvP'ers were in PL), and the NC was falling. MM had just decided that they didn't want their space anyway, so it was left to MH to cling to the skirts of Mother Goon for defense.

I was flying my tackle Ares for a roaming game, when it came to our attention that PL was attacking our cyno jammer in C8-CHY. We burned to the system at full speed and got raped by PL Tengus. Everyone reshipped, and we started trying to get into contact with Goons while destroying our own cyno jammer (which was for some reason a better idea than trying to rep it).

Thinking myself knowledgeable, I jumped into the SniggWaffe channel, and (since they were the GoonWaffe training corp) I asked them if they had contacts with any of the Goon FC's. I would have stuck around to be called faggot some more, but someone else managed to get onto Goon Mumble so I x'ed out.

Anyway, my most embarrasing was getting scammed like a retard when i was about 6months old (ingame)

I had managed to scam someone for a rattlesnake blueprint - he just traded it to me, and I kept it. Anyway, I looked at it and saw it was a copy, and though WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT, so I tried to onsell it ~without telling people it was a copy~, some dude offered to trade me for a built rattlesnake (which was obviously just a Scorpion renamed to Rattlesnake). Knowing this, I traded it over, and laughed at the rube that just traded a perfectly good scorpion for a rattlesnake COPY.

Actually my second most embarrassing moment was way back in the day when I was young and gullible I fell victim to a station trade scam that cost me 400 mil (it was a raven "navy issue").

However I made delicious lemonade from the bitterest of lemons and spent the rest of the week mercilessly scamming and walked away with about four and a half bil. I sold a "Thorax Navy Issue" at one point too.

You left out the important part of your story.

The reason they were taking down the jammer was to hit a timer in that system which wasn't on the POS application.

The response was more like: "Wait!? it's not on the pos app and you're now coming to us for help after fucking up the previous timers and dropping the ball on just about every POS/Station/Jammer in Fade?"

Then people called you a faggot and informed you to get out.

I remember a few weeks into the game, doing level 3s in a ferox and thinking to myself "holy shit I am owning these pirates in their little red cross ships. I can't wait for some pvp, because player ships are as strong as npcs, right?" End result is I lost my first ship, and it was a blaster, shield boosting, nano ferox with gyrostabs.

I have committed far too many embarrassing mistakes.

Top 3 are ;

1) Complaining to a GM about loosing skill points in a big fleet fight (LXQ circa november 2010 I think) since I was podded, re-logged and was podded again. Petition went on for a while as the GM tried to figure out what the hell I was on about, then he pointed out I hadn't updated my clone for at least two weeks and had entered the fight with an empty clone to begin with. /o\

2) Got baited and ganked in a WH and lost my shiny loki, raged, jumped back in hole to camp them in my cloaky loki and hole collapsed behind me. found an exit to caldari highsec, hit autopilot to Jita and went to sulk. Came back to computer and realised i had been blown up and podded. Had failed to notice Aunenen was on the autopilot route, lost 2 lokis in the space of 10min

3) While roaming nullsec probing for anoms I unwittingly jumped my talos and tengu into an incursion system, while trying to warp off the talos, got blown up by sansha. 1bil of plex loot in the wreck I tried to grab it with my faction tengu. Lost tengu. Logged off. Fucking Incursions.



4) How could I forget while baiting for a blackops gang with my orca in lowsec I pass an orca so think fuckit and decide to GCC - and realise I have travelled out of the black-ops bridge range http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95XTwZGjxxA

Mine came after getting my ass shot off seconds into a fight for about the third fleet fight in a row (blasted IT alphabet target caller!). I was going away for the weekend, so still raging I jumpcloned into my +5's clone, and logged off. Came back on the monday, saw a jabber ping for another battle, leapt into my ship and went into the fray straight away without thinking. Died seconds into the fight YET AGAIN, then saw more notifications than I was expecting. Yep, Advanced Weapons Upgrades 5, and four +5 implants down the toilet. To add insult to injury, this was about two days before the patch where we got our Learning Skills sp refunded. It literally cost me all of my refunded sp to get AWU5 back... no sp present for me

First time i played eve in 2008 i started in highsec and joined a corp my friend was in, i was a poor noobie and decided i would do some missions, so i did, i enjoyed them, and being the noob i was, i asked my friend if i could borrow A LARGE SUM OF 1million isk to buy a battlecruiser skillbook, i was loving it, then after a few days, i asked a corpie if i can borrow A UNBELIEVABLY LARGE AMOUNT OF ISK which was 25mill, and he did, me thinking at the time "what the fuck, this guy lent me so much just because we are in the same corp"

So there's me, living the dream in a Prophecy, blitzing level 1 missions with my 7 small pulses and 2 shield boosters, damage control in the lows and i think a overdrive extender, no prop mod. Just destroyed missions, 1 after another, then one day the Sarum Family decided i was ready for level 2's, so i went in, upgraded the prophecy to medium pulses, only could fit 4 of them, and jesus christ, i just got owned in the mission, prophecy almost died, so i dock up with 25% hull, and when i try to undock, it won't let me because the ship is too damaged, and i don't have enough iks to repair it so the ship was useless, and no one would lend me the isk to fix it, so i gave up, turned off eve, didn't play for another year.

Long story short: If you don't get help early, it's a fucking difficult learning experience

When I started EVE I made my guy with extra high intelligence and charisma. I was gonna be pretty bad ass with magic and get shit on the market dirt cheap.

My worst mistake in eve was the time I was a new player and the pirate corp I was in was going to gate gank some former member. The idea was for one of our dudes in a wolf to tackle him off the gate in uplingur and then gtfo before sentry guns blapped him. I accidentally derped and scrambled my corp member and not the target so he lost his wolf to the gate guns.

Got kicked out of the corp for that. Was really buttmad about it too so I bought a handful of game time cards, acquired a character with more SP (T'Renn) and vowed my revenge as an anti-pirate. As it turned out though, I just ended up joining the same corp with the new character. Two years later I finally let them know that I was the idiot that scrammed the poor wolf.

This was six years ago. As for debes, I don't think he plays anymore

My second biggest mistake in Eve was leaving for 3 years and then just thinking I could jump right back in to the thick of 0.0 combat and thinking I could be effective.
