Jeff Wars: The Rich Get Richer
A new conflict started while we were all blinded by the Kugu black out, and since most of the threads are regionally based, we'll move this one here, I'm sure theres much shit posting to be done and it needs a home.
So for the back story, TEST and PL have deployed to Delve, nulli may be full of some of the worst posters known to man, but they like to fight so theres something for everybody to do. The fights have been pitched, some days Nulli go home the victor, sometimes the Honeybadgers get up in that ass, sometimes, both happen. Needless to say, one day, I get a message from inside Nulli, citing Progod in FCchat:

What would draw us from our goodfights one might ask, well, turns out, -A- had a grander plan to relieve pressure from Nulli in Delve and give them some breathing room. Last Saturday, the war dec from AAA went live on PL, as the combined mass of -A- moved north on a deployment. Their goal was simple, hit PL tech and ONLY PL tech, 400 strong, dreads and supers in tow, they moved into Okagiaken (or however you spell that shit hole).
Now, up till now, sides have been drawn around the north, NCdot, do not get on well with the CFC, they're openly hostile, and on most days that end in Y, the CFC in general doesn't like PL either, but we do have one thing in common -
We hate poor people.
We hate poor people trying to make rich people poor even more.
So Mittani called his secret op, NCdot quietly formed, and TEST and PL hunkered down to try and bait out the heavy guns of AAA in the area. The problem was its kinda hard to hide the 700 goons that showed up to hang out with Mittens. Maka still engaged us with nearly 200 strong in his fleet vs our 50 slowcats and 5 triage carriers, PL cycling triage carriers from tank to rep constantly as Maka poked our carriers looking for the soft one. He picked Seleene, 30 seconds into his triage cycle. To the credit of that chimera, it tanked hard as balls for four solid minutes, soaking damage like a champ, and as it dropped out, the first reps to cycle on it were slowcat armor reps, too late, it died literally as the reps started to cycle. In the mean time TEST valiantly dropped their "suicide triage" on a second tower we had next door, and stealth repped it like boss motherfuckers.
Orbiting in 100mn tengus 130km from the carrier blob, Maka issued cat calls about PL's new place in the CFC, and asked us about the 500 goons on a titan, but the towers were saved, and a fairly impressive show of force from the OTEC members was issued as challenge to -A-'s newly forming bloc.
After a mid week tower save in the bowels of Period Basis for a Nulli CSAA, where the fledgling block fielded some 600 ships that featured a dizzying array of alliances, -A-'s block felt that it was a good time to hit a few more towers.
They selected 2 near their staging systems, and Solar would make a play for a moon they've been pecking at for weeks, using quick hit US tz fleets to punch both towers and the Goons jb in W-4, then jumping home and quickly standing down the dreads before response fleets could mobilize.
Today dawned with the Korasen moon coming out for PL mid day, it would be a brawl, early enough for most euros and US players to attend. Local would break 1000, TiDi would stay locked at 10% for nearly 2 hours.
One hour before the op I began making contact with the different available FC's, gathering test and doubling up the entire cyno route (which we still missed one of). The Slow cat fleet swelled to need a 3rd wing, and at that point i knew shit would die. Villy had a fairly large fleet massing, Vince hit me up with about 15 minutes left, and scouts from 30 sources were tracking 4 separate fleets in the area. The original plan I had involved sending only a few in, but AAA showed up on the tower while it still had about 10 minutes left, so full slow cat force it was, if Maka wanted to use dreads, I would give him something to shoot.
Slow Cat fleets are eerily quiet, there is no target calling, there isn't much speech at all, just scouts reporting fleet movements and people asking for reps that are too stupid to broadcast. The fleets started piling up, 200+ AAA, 130+ Solar, 60+ Gypsies on field vs 100ish Slow Cats. The Triage carriers were the first to fracture under the punishment. Erfurt, who's carrier hails from the days of D2 (five years old) died shockingly fast, there was no chance to roll him out of triage, next a TEST carrier, then another triage. My exact words to Villy were "We're losing triage carriers shockingly fast".
Evidently that pissed my fleet off, as not another carrier died. We were able to hold the 4th primary as TiDi wound itself up to 10% and pegged out from the influx of Goons, at the same time the Cyno went up for NCdot.
Then everything stopped.
So god damn slow, locking from a cruiser was taking on average 30 seconds or more, as local broke 1000. What proceeded was a game of cat and mouse where the Southern Bloc fleets danced around on grid through 10% TiDi and killed what the could, anything coming within range of the Slow Cat phalanx of 0wn would get decimated (3 volleying Maels under scimmie reps whats up) until after an hour, the Southern Bloc broke and abandoned the field.
Through it all the triage carriers had only managed to pull the tower up 12% due to Tidi, but the field was ours.
Vince chased -A-, who slipped out of his grasp due to Low Suck, and instead ended up engaging Goons after the Tech tower was done, comfortably proving that we don't have to like each other to want you to stay poor.
With no end in sight of the Southern Block drive on the tech moons of PL, and the solidification of said block into a fighting force, the coming weeks may see a sharp escalation in festivities.
