Right, new patch bringing lots of ppl lots of goodies.

Right, this patch just killed the game for me.
No effects are being played anymore, it ain't my gfx, all files are valid.
fucking annoying.

Not being smug, but it's totally fine for me (people are glitched up in the College, rotating on the spot at about .25pi rad/sec, but I just installed a new mod so that might be it, nbd anyway), might just be you. Try uninstalling any mods you have I guess
never installed any mods =(
Waiting for an answer from Bethesda atm, if there's nothing coming from there i'll try to reinstall it

That'll suck, I have no idea what's up so good luck and all
I've taken to running around in Dwarven armour for two reasons :
1 : I've got a retexture mod that makes it look pretty amazeballs
2 : This game is too easy past level 25. I'm on Expert, one shotting draugr like it ain't no thang, might have to go up to Master...
^ once i past l30 i just wore whatever looked the prettiest. daedric is really strong obviously, but when you one/two shot most anything with a one handed sword it isn't nessecary. ended up in blades armour with dragonbane, and casting either chain lightening or a hp/magika regen
I used Blades Armour for a while too, but I got tired of looking like a giant hairy ginger Samurai. Also, I enchanted it for something insane like +120% one handed attack and a big boost to heavy armour too, so I'd roll around 0wning too easy, using a unenchanted set of full dwarven and stuff doesn't die quite as easily, is p fun
The Creation Kit has been released and Valve has made a Space Core mod which looks pretty cool.
I want to try the HiRes pack they made, it looks really REALLY nice, but my poor Radeon 4870 probably can't handle it :\
my HD6770 can, so you should be ~fine~

It said not to install it without at bare minimum 4 GBs of RAM and a video card with at least 1GB of memory.
I hit neither requirement :<, comps starting to show her age, but she does me right.

I'm pretty sure every small gripe I have with Skyrim has now been erased thanks to Steam mainstreaming access to mods for the game. WOW has my game experience improved!
I haven't checked how much system memory the High res pack needs, but it sure does affect your VRAM heavily (combined with Skyrim's suboptimal texture-streaming on the PC, yay multiplatform games >_>).
I got annoying mini-freezes and texture-loading lag after about 3 to 5 are-changes (so from inside to outside or from city to world and back/forth) with the high res pack; had to reduce some of my ini-tweaked shadow settings (i.e. half some shadow map sizes) to get that gone again.
(Shadows overall are a good way to tweak Skyrim... Even if they're still very ugly on Ultra setting, they take up a lot of resources, especially in inside-cells where they got a higher res.)
EDIT: That Dovahcore helmet is awesome. My dunmer looks a bit like a Bioshock's Big Daddy with horns.
The "better parts" of high levels and the corresponding "easification" come actually with high smithing, alchemy, and echantment skills. A lot of the following his a bit of spoiler content, in case you wanna find out about the caps and abilities of the crafting system yourself.
I got 2 ames I'm more or less parallely playing, one is a tidy clean game, the other one is heavily cheated ne, originally created to find out max level caps and stuff for uesp.net and fucking about when bored.

Ebony Mail is so damn awesome.
totally worth sacrificing that mercenary.

Agreed, well worth ridding myself of that simpering Sven for.![]()
ARGH! I went with that Elf 'cause :elfbro:. But for someone to be sacrificed, Sven would'a been perfect. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm done with the DB quest line to take ne of the unnamed assassin apprentices up there (I don't like taking named NPCs out of the game (too early)).

I used a Companion to get the Ebony mail - should've used a Mercenary. Now my army of Blades will forever be one fewer![]()
Anyone know if it's possible to sacrifice Cicero (assuming he survived DB)?
Nice video. Been playing this for three months now, so mass effect 3 will have to wait.
Currently using a multiple companions mod along with a follower wander and dovahkiin relax mod for immersion. The fixed weapons of the third era and dragonbone weapons mods are fairly decent too along with cloaks of skyrim.
Havn't yet managed to get the dual wield follower mod to work yet however although Im sure I will. Killable children too, just because. I'll try dual wield parrying mod too. Hope the real 1st person view mod gets completed too as well as open cities once bethesda get their act together. Currently tracking those on skyrim nexus. My char below beating up the elderly.

Are there any rumors of the DLC release date yet?
I couldn't find anything on the official bethsoft forums.
So what happens when you give a bunch of lonely neckbeards the ability to mod a game like Skyrim? A sex mod that allows you to run around and fuck any NPC you want. The only actual use for the mod however, is the ability to whore yourself or your companion out to guards to pay any bounties you have, other then that it seems useful only to get your perv on.
Link to mod, however you will probably need to register to see it.

Ah Nexus mods, never change~
Shamelessly forwarding pcgamer/steam news, it seems that people found potential DLC-files, including hints on crossbows, feeding animations for vampires, and some snow elf prince.

- Coming this summer
-Timed Xbox 360 release (Apparently coming for 360 first then released to other platforms)
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
- Recent patch notes contain clues as to whats to come, Snow Prince Elf's and crossbows
I can't wait! I really like how Bethesda generally makes their DLC more like expansion packs so I pick this one up aswell.
Even better:
Mounted combat arrives with the next patch 1.6 - for free. You can already test it via steam beta updates.

First Trailer for the Expansion
Each time I watch this trailer I'm getting more and more impatient. Fuck this! Give it to me now!!!
I can see myself already getting an xbox360 and Skyrim for it just to play the DLC one month ahead. I see what you did there, Microsoft!
The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
The more I watch it the more I am tempted to take the path of a demon! But maybe like a cross and be a Redguard so I can be like the Skyrim version of Blade! WESLEY SNIPES AINT GONNA HAVE SHIT ON ME (except for federal tax evasion)!
Finally decided to actually play this game again, hit 40, ended the War, and beat Alduin.
Am I late to the party? :3
Until Dawnguard that is ^__^
Well, I've got stuff to do, but none of it "suits" a thief guy. I'm not doing the Mages guild without magic again, did that on Oblivion. Guess I'll do the DB again, might be different if you do it stealthily instead of doing it at like like 40-odd and just running around murdering people in public and then paying any fines incurred
Lol you don't need magic to do the Mages guild, trust me.
After going into the 100th dungeon to kill skelotons and loot some thing at the end to bring to some dude I got bored of this game. How do you guys keep it interesting?
If you kill enough of them they stop fighting - Gen. Curtis Lemay
Fear the KKM
Can someone reccomend some good mods then?

I don't actually mod that much, but I have a few general gameplay-enhancing ones
http://forums.somethingawful.com/sho...readid=3483703
Stuff in that thread is mostly good. I can't link you the mods I have because the mod manager has fucking died or something, but I have basic stuff like a nifty cloak mod, a mod that makes mining 3x faster, SkyUI, some Elven Armor mod that makes it look less garish, a really good crafting mod which adds craftable arrows, some balance changes to smithing that make it harder to just make a bajillion Iron Daggers to get to 100 Smith, lots of other stuff that you can craft (once you get them, you can craft most of the unique items in the game, which is nice when you don't want to use a crappy "fortify Illusion" hood on your thief's ultimate armour).
I also have a nice mod that makes all player-ownable houses map markers, and one that re-does the map to make it less fucking useless. Finally, there's a Magic overhaul one that makes Destruction not totally crap, without going overboard and letting you blap Dremora Lords or anything. Most of these mods are in that thread, and many more
So, for those of you planning to get Dawnguard, haveth thee thought about which side you'll pick: Dawnguard or Volkihar vampires?
I probably will go with the vampires, simply due to getting extra powers. Apparently you'll even be able to become a vampire as a werewolf. You may lose your werewolf powers for the time being, but after finishing the Dawnguard storyline, you'll be able to return to your werewolf status. Sadly you can't be a (Kate Beckinsale-banging) hybrid (without console-magic that is, most likely).
The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
Dawnguard for sure, I want me some crossbow action. I don't like the look of the Vampire Lord transformation, as it seems a little too good (I've only had a cursory glance but all the same...). If my <redacted> quest line hadn't broken I wouldn't be a werewolf right now either, but for some reason I can't get the quest where you need to return to <redacted> with the <redacted> heads and throw them into the <redacted> to cure you and <redacted> of your Werewolfism, which is a shame, as I can't get the damn Lover's Comfort bonus and shit takes ages to level up![]()
So after Bethesda's marketing VP Pete Hines stated at the beginning of the week that so far Dawnguard wouldn#t have been officially announced for the PC nor would give any further details beyond more info following by the end of the week, Dawnguard's been released yesterday without further notice.
So, yepp, it's out now for PC.
EDIT: I hope they included high-res PC textures from the get-go!
EDIT-EDIT: Downloading it now.
