Ehm no, supercaps don't affect subcaps as much as they used to. Winning the subcap fight with enemy supers on grid is much more feasible now and everybody knows what happens to unsupported caps.

supers (supercarriers couldnt do this since they lost their non fighterbays) and titans(they do about twice the dps of a as arty tempest with full blap fit agains armor bs last I tried, vollying for around 4k a shot) cant rly do too much damage agains sub cap FLEETS besides the initsial shock and awe dps from fighters (to they die really fast to focused fired and then its all GG after that).

So yeah, if you loose the sub cap fight, and the supers are defanged , its all gg if you can break their logi RR. What supers can do however, is provide RR, close range dps, anti enemy capital dps(obvious) ecm burst(tho this tends to work as a double edges sword if each side support fleet is entangled in closeup brawls). Most supers shouldnt(and prob wont) provide fighter dps futher out than 40-50km(unless your clearly winning and enemy is more buzy bailing or you are very desperate) which is their effective tackling range. so as long as the hostile fleet works from outside this "close defensive proximitre" of officer neuts and webs they are home free to do whatever they like as long as they win the subcap fight.

Supers are really good at ganking unorginized fools tho, and good at supporting slowcats which is the real "subcap" killer atm. tracking dreads works aswell, but I personally think slowcats are more "stable" at providing dps. (tracking dreads tend to miss a lot, much like the old blap titans did)

so a supergay TDR: Much like a stuka ,a super/titan rules when bombing unorginized polish farmers fleeing to the hills but it sucks in "real" air dogfights agains people with a clue.

Exactly. What y'all did in NOL was a perfect use of ECM burst coordinated with subcap fire. Our logi reps were holding at first when the drake fleet switched fire to the guardians (this was at the moon where the BL aeon died for anyone trying to remember). Reps generally held strong for about 10 minutes of that particular engagement, but a quick succession of ECM bursts lead to a few guardian losses, and once a few were lost, the DPS slowly became overwhelming along with cap chains having to be re-established every time the burst hit. It didn't matter that the ECM bursts generally stopped after about 40 or 50 seconds, the damage had been done and we had lost too many logi to hold reps. The fight was over at that point.

This was a fight that had gone on for nearly an hour, this particular round of the fight having been going on for 15 minutes, and it was decisively ended in basically 50 seconds by some very good coordinated ECM burst fire cooperating with the subcap fleet switching primaries.

ECM bursts are nice.
