Posting to say that any ship with medium drones will tear your shit apart very quickly. Arbitrators are a nightmare to fit and do absolutely shit DPS.
Goddamn I hope they get to redoing the cruisers soon. A maller that can do more than just tank, An omen could be built for speed (inasmuch as any armor ship is speedy) and have actual DPS. I doubt much will change for the arby or belli but something as small as giving them easier fitting would be great.

Thorax will be signicifantly slower than me when they go armor (=web). But nonetheless, scram screws me over the same way.

You can armor tank a Thorax without getting your velocity fucked - you can drop a web for a cap booster and a plate for a rep, like this:

While you have your point, that fit seems to be able to do well against...well, nothing. Cant track frigs, your tank barely holds against any cruiser and the DPS is kinda low. Apart from that, i think the only point in armotanking the Thorax is to get a web.
540 DPS, you'll tank frigs long enough to get out if you can't engage them, AFs will get raped by Valks, and the DPS makes up for the admittedly poor tank. Being neut-proof is also a big deal; I dislike losing to Ruptures even when I dictate range.
I tweaked it a bit. 600 DPS, 2170 with heat, but only 2:24 of cap with everything on. Im actually starting to like this tho.
Actually I like your fit a lot more, being cap stable with everything going isn't required since at your optimal you're either going to be scrammed or pulsing your MWD to stay at the 2km optimal.
The answer is obviously that your thrasher is so cheap that you should engange just to find out if its doable.
Duel mar thorax works just fine with a legion booster, exile and medium auxil rigs. Can easily solo bc's.

I've been doing some Taranis roaming lately, to get back to my ~roots~.
Killed a Norther Associates Omen, and then his Tornado friend warped in. After cleaning up the Omen, I started on the Nado. Lo and behold, Falcon uncloaks 50 off. I break off to get my drones on him before he can jam me, and then suddenly blap. I forgot about the Nado, so he took advantage of my bigger sig and low transversal. :/
Today, I picked off an Evoke tackle duder before his gang could warp onto him. I get that ASB's are good, but not when you can be otherwise 4-cycled by light neutrons. I moved further up the pipe, only to find a Legion of xDeath nano gang. I engaged their Ares for the easy kill, and then started on a Dramiel. Sadly, I was being shot at by 3 Dramiels at once, and then the rest of the gang landed. I was able to brawl one of the Drams to half shields, though, so Taranis obvi OP.

Keep up the stories. You've inspired me to train for the taranis and I'm only a few days off taking one out. Haven't had much luck with a brawler wolf. Guess I need to pick my fights better but most of the time when I do engage it ends in a blap.
Stievie inspires me to go out and solo roam. I really wish I had more than an hour a night to play. Fecking projects at work and the gym have conspired to keep me from eating pizza and sitting in front of a computer for hours.
I'm gonna resurrect this and write a wall of text about maybe the shittiest HAC in the game - the Eagle.
Except - its actually amazing if you look at the ship from a "get fights" perspective.
So the Eagle is basically a smaller, more mobile Ferox without buffer and drones. Or a really fat, slow Harpy. Also the cheapest HAC you can buy - buy orders in Jita are at 90ish mil, which is tier3 price territory.
Here is my XL-ASB fit. It needs 3% PG and has a single 15mil faction module on it, but you can do without.
Make sure you plug in MH-905 (5% medium projectile damage) its 10ish mil.
Lets have a look at stats.
Damage is pretty ok (530/620dps with Void). The double optimal bonus is not entirely useless too, since it allows to hit past your own nose with Electrons and Void.
It has full tackle, which combined with tracking of Electrons makes frigates in scramrange explode fast. Also a source of cap, so neuting can be dealt with.
EHP is at ~20k with evenish resists. Which is not a lot, but significantly more than on say, the Kovorix xl-ASB Vaga. Burst-tank is amazing. t2 resists + resist bonus + heat + standard blue-pill = 1500dps tanked vs. uniform for nearly a minute; 2200 against hybrids. More importantly super fun to use - one ASB cycle gives you like 2/3 of your shields back.
Speed is really terrible (1350m/s, you get outrun by tier3s, lol). On the bright side agility is actually decent - its pretty much the same a Vaga has.
Most importantly though - literally noone flies these, so people will assume the weirdest stuff as far as fitting goes, which is HUGE when it comes to soloing. It can technically be a lolsniper, it can be dual-lasb with zero frig-defense etc.
Just yesterday i've had 2 fights which i would never be able to initiate/come out on top of if i'd fly some FotM ship.
1. Sabre + Wolf decide to brawl me down. P easy to guess what they would've done vs. say a Cynabal.

This is nice, when I looked at just about everything I could think of that would do well with ASBs I didn't even think about the Eagle. I swear I view the HAC lineup like it has 7 ships. Unironically interested in what else you can manage with that ship and fit.
