What roles do you need to be able to simultaneously turn off all sov modules, just Director of the Executor corp/corp that owns them?

As much as people complain about sov, it's nice to have my own station system for ratting. I was late to the party though and had to settle for one with only 2 forsaken hubs.

Back in my Marine days I used to semi-joke that I would make friends of anyone who could whoop my ass and if that failed I'd make friends with someone who could whoop theirs.
That's basically what the CFC has done. You have a number of entities who couldn't stand up to other alliances such as Raiden. on their own but are able to band together with a buddy who can. This allows smaller alliances to fight above their weight class and defend space they couldn't otherwise hold.
The real question is considering just how successful the CFC has been. Why hasn't anyone else managed to emulate it?

I'm pretty sure Kugu historians will be able to belt out a string of large coalitions who have done this before, it's nothing new. The eve populace is filled with different alliances with different styles, a few of which will always fall into the larger 'strength in numbers' category (which is fine). People tend to choose alliance types based on cultural fit, and trying to create a large coalition out of smaller, more independant and culturally different entities is generally not sustainable for the very reasons their pilots are not in those larger coalitions in the first place.
Not really, and of the "coalitions" we could list they were so shortlived, its hardly notable, none of them have lasted the years like NC did or CFC is approaching, unless you want to count the GBC.

The CFC is at best a year and a half old I would not exactly say you are the longest lasting coalition in the history of the game. In maybe 3 or 4 more years you can blow that horn, if your still around but I would say the DRF -A- Block and the original NC was probably 3 of the longest lasting orginizations in Eve History. All those groups have/had lasted for around 4 or 5 years. CFC may or may not even be around at that point. I would just warn against your CFC is forever speech till you have made it further then those other coalitions that fell apart....and in the example of -A- are still actually running.

Absolutely. Everyone has enough territory and income for their size; everyone can reimburse losses completely.
One of the most common historical and ~eve online~ errors is to conquer too much. You need enemies near you, but not right on your border; too much peace makes you soft and weak. Up north we have NCdot/RDN across the Venal border and IRC in CE; near enough to have daily fights, but not so near that we are at strategic risk. Down south there's the whole Delve Ghetto right on the border of Fountain.
The NC collapsed because they conquered everyone around them and had no threats to keep them from weakness. They got sloppy because they didn't need to be anything other than sloppy; it wasn't until the retarded DRF invasion that a real threat manifested against them, and Angry Russians over the border knocked the whole thing over. Goonswarm faced similar stagnation when Delve/Q/PB/Fountain was all blue. Goons have succeeded in EVE because, since 2006, everyone and their brother keeps trying to murder us. It's important to keep goons dying, daily, or we'd enter a Delve-style era of stagnation.

Nobody sane is suggesting that, the thing im suggesting that seems to have Malcanis's panties all bunged up and Some Market Dude doing his usual sperge routine is that you have now killed the only credible threat left in the game to your people, the only enemy you have left is time. You have removed the thing that would keep your members actively engaged in your space. You have in effect recreated Delve.
The rest of the game will likely now turtle up should you show and just move out to low sec or the nearest NPC 0.0. Where would you go, Delve? Nulli and company would make a great fight, IRC? Dead in 2 weeks, tops, AAA? They'll let you plow the whole south over and over and just constantly retreat to stain. NCdot? They might show up and harass a fleet or two but largely they'll do the same thing raiden did, evac assets and just sit back and watch, they have a huge nest egg to live off of for about 2 years.
Even kicking member alliances like FCON and shit out wouldn't really help you, as they'd simply leave their space, unable to stand up to events that would come next, still leaving you sitting in a sea of your own coalition. You had a delicate balance where you had fun near home for your entire alliance, and rather than milk it or try and foster that border war you stomped it to death.

If you look at the borders of the CFC and the borders of the NC you don't see a huge difference. Sure, the center of power is now Deklein, and they own Cloud Ring and Fountain instead of Tribute and Vale, but the core is still there.
It will be interesting to see how long you can maintain at this level. I would love to see a civil war will break out, but all your coalition partners have been spayed or neutered, so its unlikely.

Rein that pony back there a bit partner. We were quite happy trying (and failing) to rescue Mister Vee's Cruor out of NOL, when RDN broke the bropact and shot up our tech in Venal. Then intel picked up rumblings about -WN- planning an invasion of Dek. Yeah, WN turned out to be a complete paper tiger, but at the time we appeared to have found the yellow cake. There wasn't any invasion plan to hit Branch until those (as well as a few other) pieces of intel started coming in. Branch wasn't a conjured up casus belli, at the time all the intel pointed to -WN-, RDN, and NCDOT acting like a bunch of teenagers urging each other on to do something naughty.
We swung first at -WN- and then went after RDN who really started the entire mess. If there's anything you can blame us for, it's holding grudges like a... well... goon.
